Fish Poison Tree (Barringtonia asiatica) - do not eat the big nuts

Im learning about plants in my culture and what they were used for. In my culture (Chuukese), we use the fruit for fish poison or cauterizing wounds.

At last i found the answer by this..i just brought some dried fruit of this from the province here Philippines and have a plant tree with plenty of fruits and some beautiful blossoms..with my curiousity..i searched from here about that kind of fruit..lucky that i didnt tried to taste it..cuz having of doubt and scared..thanks to u..u save me..i will throw it now...❤

We have this in Ormocay, Mayorga, Leyte i remember back in the days its a host plant of Atlas Moth (kakanog) the biggest moth and we call that trees in local name (Potat)and also a breeding ground for itchy caterpillar moth. 🌱🐛🌳

I would say so although the very young fruit is being cooked and eaten. But do not try that
