If you haven’t already, I’d recommend you research No-till-gardening. I started doing it last year and I really prefer it to tilling the soil. I threw down some cover crop seeds, covered them with about an inch or so of mulched up leaves and grass in the fall. I’ll add some compost when I have it and I think it needs it. It’s great. And, most importantly, much less work for those of us with busy lives.
