- In this travel vlog, I will journey to Georgetown Penang, Malaysia to witness one of the biggest Hindu Indian festivals, "Thaipusam 2024 (马来西亚大宝森节)" observing how devotees engage in body piercing and install and carry kavadi.
Stepping into the vibrant streets of Penang, specifically Lorong Kulit, during the Thaipusam Festival 2024, the air resonates with energy. Colorful processions fill the atmosphere, featuring intricately decorated chariots and devotees carrying kavadi, symbolizing their penance.
The rhythmic beats of drums echo as the procession advances towards the Penang Waterfall Hill Temple. Devotees, adorned with body piercings and elaborate body art, showcase their unwavering faith. It is a mesmerizing spectacle, a fusion of spirituality and cultural richness that has left an indelible mark on my travel memories.
