    * I made a mistake. My Ork skin recipe is actually 2 parts Death Guard Green and 1 part Flash Gitz Yellow *

      is averland sunset way different or just a little cuz i dont have Flash Gitz Yellow

      Averland sunset is quite different. It’s much darker. If that is all you have then try a half the amount of averland. Over all your still going to get a nice base colour. Just try it out and experiment. As long as YOU like it, that’s all that matters 😁

A little tip for other viewers: if you're more into Vallejo paints, I've achieved similar skin colour with their Lime Green, desaturated with justa a touch of their Black.Three drops of green and just a brush tip of black

      Your welcome. Just know that if you are aiming for different tones in something, it’s going to
      Come from washes and highlights. Just painting different patches of colour doesn’t really work. Especially for something organic. Unless it’s fur or for pattern. Try out some of the different washes over different greens and you’ll never run out of different ways to paint Ork skin 😁

    As always love these videos. I’ve been using a lot of your tips and have discovered one of my new favorite paints that you have used, stormvermin fur! I’m using it for the cloth color for my Deathskulls and I love it. Did you change your ork skin recipe? Thought it used to be with flash gitz yellow? Also I’d recommend trying plaid witch flesh for the white with Deathskulls, as I find it easier to paint with, and is got that slight “dirty white” that looks more orky. Anyway Michael, always like seeing you back on the orks!

      If your doing a small amount of miniatures then just using the base colours is fine. I would clean the plastic with warm soapy water first though. If your doing a whole army that your going to play games with then i would invest in some primer. It doesn’t need to be citadel 🤷🏼‍♂️ as long as it’s acrylic based. Plenty of options out there. If your in the uk I know a lot of people use a primer from Halfords for example

    is it required to use warhammer paints? i recently got an ork boyz 10 pack (snap together) and instead of the normal paint i got a WW2 allied forces paint kit (mostly greens, tans and greys) and i was wondering if they would work well for warhammer.

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube
      @TableTopReadyYoutube  ปีที่แล้ว

      No of course not. I would recommend water based acrylic paints though as they are easy to work with and great for miniature painting. Just check what kind of paints you have. Also just be aware that your results are gonna be the same as what I achieve in the tutorial, just because they’re different colours and a different range. Give em a go 😃

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube
      @TableTopReadyYoutube  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With dry brushing. Less is better. Get as much of the paint off as you can until it’s not coming off onto the paper towel anymore. Go slowly at first to get a feel for the technique and it’s a case of doing it until your happy with it. You get lots of extra bits in the kits that you can practice on first

      I do have some savage oaks planned in the future. If I do some they will be painted for a contrast tutorial or maybe a painting challenge. I wouldn't expect a general painting tutorial for them though, but you will still learn something :)

    This seemingly current trend of equating efficiency with "cheating" is odd to me. Any technique or tool that allows someone to achieve a comparably high-quality result with less effort is efficient, not a cheat. It's like saying driving my car to work rather than a horse and buggy is cheating. I hope people get rid of this misconception that efficiency means cheating.

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube
      @TableTopReadyYoutube  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. There’s some very outdated ideas about painting miniatures. It’s just a different way of painting. I essentially use all the same techniques, it’s just a mind set people have and I’m trying to change that with every tutorial I make. A more efficient way of painting is the right way to think about it 👍🏻
