As a new acrylic painter I was wondering about how abstract is expressed…I am awed at your ability to create light and depth just blending colors (and had no idea what a hake brush was..lol)
ever since I discovered your youtube channel I already want to try this kind of abstract painting it's only more than a year since I started painting and I'm still on the part where I'm trying to discover and explore the world of art...
i fell in love for this gradient background at first look! it's great after a second layer. i love all the colors you used. i like the contemporary picture frame with black gap between them. thanks.
Thank you for your tutorial. I've been frustrated with blending acrylics. It not easy and you make it look easy. Practice makes perfect. I thought it was the quality of paints, I was using. Thanks for listing supplies and your encouragement.

Hi there Indie. I have only just discovered your page and I have been doing Pour Painting but became dissilusioned with it of late and wanted to step outside my square and channel into Textured Abstract side of my art. I would call myself a beginner to lower intermediate but you have so inspired me. Indie did you prime your canvases with Gesso, allow it to dry and then add your modelling paste. Thank you in advance. I just absolutely love this. Your work is amazing
Amazing. I can keep watching your videos again and again. If I may ask a question on the texture white you applied last, is that modelling paste or just acrylic white paint? Thank you in advance
Gorgeous work! I love it. Thanks for sharing. I have q: did you have to use different hake brushes for each colors you used as you were blending? Same as the nylon brush. How many brushes did you use for this work? Thank you.

Thank you for sharing the video, I love your work, it looks like you don't wash or wet your Hake brush? It's just dry and that's what you're using to stretch the paint? Thanks again ♥
This is magnificent: ZI never knew one could do this-/ thank you for you patience - displaying how this can be done-- and warning us it might take a lot of practice❤.
three quick questions: 1. The Hake brush you use looks much more stiff than the ones you recommend. Do you have a link to the one you use in the video? 2. How often do you clean the Hake brush while working? Doesn't it require cleaning so you don't transfer the wrong colors as you blend? 3. Do you have any online classes, or workshops?
I have both on them and they are equally great for blending. The one featured in this video was purchased at Hobby Lobby. I clean it only after a painting session. I don’t transfer the wrong colors, they become more sophisticated and less childish. But it can be difficult for the beginner artist. So if you are new to art, it’s easier to use a few brushes or clean them often during the painting sessions. I have a Patreon account. There are approximately 12 videos, mirroring those on my TH-cam channel, but with detailed explanations and additional tips: www.patreon.com/user?u=86770402

I just found you yesterday and I’m mesmerized by watching you. You work is stunning. Do you change out your hake brush when you’re blending in the paint from color to color?
Wow, your artwork is gorgeous!! 👍😁😃 Question. As acrylic dries so fast, how do you keep your brushes from dried out during the whole time, especially your hake brush? Spread water on them or let them sit in your water can when not using? Thank you!
Thank you ❤️ Interesting question Yes, I let my regular brushes sit in a water can when not using. And when my hake brushes are about to dry out, I wash them and dry them thoroughly with paper towels and use them again
Thank you so much! Happy to hear that 🥰 For my signature, I use a 3D fabric paint. It's a small detail that adds a personal touch to each piece. Your support and interest mean a lot to me! 💕
Thank you ❤️ I use one brush and I neither clean it nor rinse it but people write in the comments that in this case, they get muddy colors so maybe for someone it would be better to use a few brushes or to clean it
Your artwork and technique are beautiful. I have been practicing blending with the Hake brush and find the hairs too long. The brush you are using has shorter hairs and I couldn't locate the one you use. Any suggestions?
I’m being pulled to do more abstract because I feel like I can express myself without following all the rules. Thank you for sharing this awesome tutorial. Appreciate ya. ❤️
NEW SUBSCRIBER: I have a few questions. Do you wipe your Hake Brush off so it can blend better? Which varnish do you use? Do you make your own floating frames for your finished painting?
Hi! Do you have any tips or advice on how to avoid the hairs falling out of the hake brush? I ordered from one of your suppliers and tried your blending technique, however, the hairs keep falling off that i ended up tweezing out the hairs on my canvas. Again, thanks for all you wonderful, inspiring videos!
Hi Since I use the same brushes I have the same problem What I can advise stopping your paintbrush from shedding bristles is to use pliers to squeeze the ferrule tightly to help keep bristles in place. Yes, it’s true that blending technique look dull. I think my paintings are vibrant because I apply at least 2 paint coats and use highly pigmented and quality paints. You can also avoid dull colors by thinning the paint less with water and applying a little bit more paint but really just a little bit.
