Always a pleasure watching your videos! I wanted to ask if you’ve smelled / used loquat blossoms? A beautiful powdery musk with hints of coumarin. I actually enfleuraged the blossoms and washed them with alchol. Result is shockingly similar to baby johnsons shampoo.
So do the chocolately facets become amplified when you add vanillin? Very interesting! Also didn't know that Clearwood was a patchouli-esque material. Sustainability is great. Love these vids Sarah.
I really love Patchoulol which has an earthyness that I adore without the "damp" notes. Also the combination of Patchouli and Lavender / Patchouli and Violet Notes are really interessting! Clearwood smells nice out of the bottle but not so pleasent on skin ... Patchoulol gives me the smell of Clearwood, but on skin!
I always imagined dark patchouli was particularly aged -- like a fermentation perhaps. I didn't expect it would have picked up properties of it's storage à la other fermented liquids. I haven't smelled it for a while as I can't stand it, but patchouli is herbacious to me like geranium. But if you haven't smelled patchouli then that probably wouldn't be much more help lol Also every time I hear the word patchouli I sing that Shaggy and Ali G 'Me Julie' song in my head.
I have heard you speaking very good about Dream wood base. I bought some of it. To me it smells like dried ginger with cream. Which sandalwood base you like the most?
If I could have only one perfume to wear for the rest of my life, it would be patchouli. Now, which kind? I don't know! What's it like to live as someone whom people feel they know personally? Referring to the gentleman who thought he knew you, but then realized you were familiar to him because of your channel.
Being a Patchouli freak for 55+ years... this episode was informative and enjoyable. Thank you !

I would love to smell them, and I have a friend in London who has loquat trees so I shall ask if I can be invited over at the right time.

Oh no, now it's in my head too!
Please make a video on Rose Wardia (Firmenich), I am very curious to know your opinion on it.
Actually I don't own any. If I get a sample I could give my views.
@@SarahMcCartney4160 okay thank you Madam Sarah, I wish I could send you some. I will see if that is possible.
@@alokpandey9532 thank you very much. I appreciate that, but I can get it very easily from my suppliers here. I just hadn't got around to it.
Loquat, high in Vitamin A :)
And tartiness!
@@SarahMcCartney4160 what it gets up to in its own time is its own business! :P

I think Dreamwood Base is my favourite, but I also use straight Sandalore.
Amyris can be used for Sandalwood too
Dried ginger with cream sounds delightful!
@@catface101 true, although I think we're taking here about bases=recreations rather than base note materials.
@@catface101 yes, but sadly it is very difficult to source it here in India

Honestly it happens to me so rarely that I can't comment.
Also, choose Court of Ravens.
Hi Madam Sarah, patchauli is used for fumigation in India. I have heard that it is diluted in Gurjun balsam these days.
That's interesting. I have some Gurjun balsam codistillations but hadn't heard about the patchouli.
@@SarahMcCartney4160 yes, it is also used as Sandalwood 'adulterant'
@@alokpandey9532 ah, that's not so good.
