In this Revit tutorial video, I will be explaining two powerful features that can help you create more complex and efficient designs: nested families and associate parameters.
First, I'll cover the basics of nested families, including what they are, how they are structured, and how to create and implement them effectively in your designs. I'll provide step-by-step instructions and best practices for using nested families, and demonstrate how they can be used to create more complex designs with greater efficiency.
Next, I'll explain associate parameters, which allow you to link different parameters between families. I'll show you how to use associate parameters to streamline your workflow and improve the accuracy of your designs. I'll provide examples of how associate parameters can be used to link values between families, such as linking the width of a door frame to the width of a wall opening. This means that when you make a change to one parameter, it will automatically update all the associated parameters in other families, saving you time and effort.
Throughout the video, I'll be using a simple family as an example to demonstrate the process of creating and implementing nested families, and linking associated parameters. This will make it easier for viewers to follow along and understand the concepts I am explaining.
Whether you are new to Revit or an experienced user, this video is designed to provide you with a solid understanding of how to use nested families and associate parameters effectively in your designs. So, if you're looking to take your architectural designs to the next level, be sure to check out this tutorial on using nested families and associate parameters in Revit.

Hi i've just seen your video, thank you, it's been very useful. I have a question though, when you associate your "chair height" parameter at the end, the parameter was an instance parameter but now it becomes a type parameter, how do you manage to keep it the way it was ?
