    how come a multiple of 3 when divided by 9 will only give remainder 0,3 and 6?

      Try to visualize an analog clock (with 12 hours). If you start out at the top (12) and I tell you that the number of hours that have passed since you started is a multiple of 3, can you infer anything about your current position? Where might you be? Where will you definitely not be?
