Grew up in Granville. It is absolutely nothing like it was. Was beautiful growing up there. Now it is way over developed. Its sad to me to visit there now as I have moved away for about 25 years. It was small, charming, and gorgeous. Now there are houses everwhere you could put one. I graduated with a class of 112. Now the schools are enormous and the old ones are unrecognizable. I wouldn't think of moving back because the taxes are ridiculous. The houses i remember are run down and there are 2 new ones in every piece of land that was once an open field or a piece of someone's property. I realize things change, but again its sad to see such a beautiful town turn into what it is now. I guess one who doesn't know, would think its a nice place now. But what it used to be was way better and more scenic.
@Mike4891w we could literally say that about every major city. Everyone says this about their home town and it's true..time hasn't been great for any city but you have to take the good with the bad I guess.
You did Granville which is great but how about covering towns east, west and south of Columbus. I’ve lived in Carroll, Baltimore and Lancaster and I’m very familiar with Millersport and Buckeye Lake areas. My wife and I are looking to move back to Ohio from Flori-duh. I’m retired so I don’t care about the snow and cold in winter but the heat and humidity here lasts at least eight months. And did I mention three hurricanes this year?
I live in Dublin and it is a great place to raise your children. Been here since 2006. Will eventually sell our home because the taxes are high but if you have kids in the public school it’s worth it!
I wouldn't recommend Mount Vernon to my worst enemy. Schools are bad, lots of drugs and homeless over the whole town. Been in Knox county for over 35 years.
Ive seen Columbus go from what everyone called a Cowtown of under 300k to the second largest city in the Midwest second to Chicago. The US government for regional breakdowns does not include St Louis, but the nearly 2 million people in the GMA (greater metro area.) It has still maintained that smaller city vibe to it... at some point over the next 25 years that too will dissipate
I am so happy you’re back. I was wondering what happened to you Andy Howell. My name is Avery Harris. I am so happy you’re back. I was hoping you could talk about the groundbreaking of the new $2 billion dollar John Glenn International Airport terminal. And I’m also hoping you could talk about the COTA Levy that passed. And how the mass transit, rapid transit buses, and 500 miles of new sidewalk could we say the fuck and help change better transit for Columbus Ohio make two new videos about those two things for me please I would love that very much. And also city Council approved the 500 mile bike plan. I was wondering if you can make a video about that as well that makes three videos.😊😊😅😅🎉🎉
I’m sorry I meant could we see the city change and reshape the city I was using voice command so the cuss word accidentally got put in there. I don’t know how apologies sorry for the foul language that was not me Apple AI voice command that’s what it was.😢😢😢😅😅😅☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️😩😩😩😩😔😔😔😔
We live south of Canal Winchester. You couldn’t pay me to live in Columbus. Unfortunately the ones causing all the trouble in Columbus are starting to expand into the suburb towns and they’re bringing their crap with them.
and Newark... only mentioned in passing at the end. I was born and raised there, lived there until about 15 years ago, then we moved our family to Buckeye Lake, a small village but gorgeous.. our daughter just bought her first home there for about $190,000 and fixing it up.. I love small village life.. only about 5,000 people here but very close to Newark, and Columbus.. So the drive there isn't very long. But going back to Newark, a very historically rich town, the Courthouse built in 1876 is a beautiful part of the downtown square. Birth place of the 12 year old Civil War Hero Johnny Clem, or Johnny (Shiloh).. Disney made a movie about him in the 60's I think.. A drummer boy who helped win a battle..
I live about an hour east outside of Columbus, and we are sick of you all coming to our small country areas, we dont like you and dont want what you bring to our areas. You all destroyed Sunbury already, it is a mess there now. Destroying our farm grounds, deer hunting and turkey hunting areas. Believe me really dont want you all out here.

Sunbury is also part of the Ohio to Erie bike trail from Cincinnati to Cleveland like Mt Vernon.
There are some great small towns south of Columbus also. I'm about an hour south.
Shhhh....
I grew up in Sunbury it was a great little town but the growth is insane I just keep moving further out

So glad I moved out of Columbus.
Can anyone tell me about the northern Blacklick area of Columbus?

They destroyed Canal, Hamilton Road is the horrible. We really don't want you all coming into our areas. You aren't liked or welcomed
Pataskala?
