We Were Followed by a Taiwanese TV Crew in Taipei

- We're on TV in Taiwan! We got a phone call that Taiwan's national news service found out we were in Taiwan and wanted to film a feature on us. A delightful news crew from Taiwan's Public Television Service followed us around for the day as we filmed our video and explored Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei. We did a sit down interview with the reporter who asked us a wide array of questions, including lots about travel in Taiwan. The reporter said she's been following our channel since we first visited Taiwan and made our first TH-cam series in 2018! We had such a fun time and it's surreal to see ourselves broadcast on national news in Taiwan.
Songshan Cultural and Creative Park is the creative hub of Taipei, Taiwan. It was once a tobacco factory and, as they're so good at doing in Taiwan, it's been reimagined into a new and unique space. We're so glad they didn't knock it down. Here you can find places to eat and drink and lots of great shopping with unique items made by makers in Taiwan.

I like buy magnets and some small souvenirs, some time a T-shirt with the name of the place I am visiting 😉😉
@@ewaannah9287 Hi Ewa! Magnets are a very popular choice! I like that you see them all the time and they remind you of the trip. T-shirts are great too. I also like to look for vintage shirts like that when I'm thrifting. :)

Hey Shaun! Thanks! I think we've made more videos about Taiwan than anywhere else (so far, at least...!). Maybe Mexico actually? 😂 It was a really fun experience and meeting the crew and everyone at Songshan was very positive. Seeing buildings given new life and not torn down makes me happy. They have soul and character you can't recreate. I did actually buy that little pouch with the Songshan courtyard on it. I can always find a use for those things and it seals this lovely memory 😊

aww thanks, Michael! 🥰 It definitely was hilarious with everyone filming everyone throughout the course of the day. 😂 Marc actually does get a ton of comments about that hat haha. People love it! Now he wishes he'd bought more than one for when the elastic on this one is too worn to wear....!
Oh hahahaha!!! I also remember the day when we went to Fulong beach for the sand sculpture festival in 2018. Absolutely hot but absolutely fun!!!

haha no, it wasn't "sew" hard! 😉😅 Even cooler repurposing stuff in an entire building that is in itself repurposed. It was such a fun and unexpected experience...what a phone call to get at the end of our last trip to Taiwan!

Is that pretty common around Taiwan yet for people to need to wear the covid masks in shops & so on, from what you've seen during your time there again? That made me curious when you both & then the others in the camera shop were all wearing masks to do anything, even now 4 years since after the start of the pandemic.
Hey Kevin! This was from our last trip to Taiwan and we're just wrapping up the latest series now! But I'd say in general it's very common for people in Taiwan to wear masks. Much more commonplace than in North America for sure.
