Matt‘s actually been with the band longer than Avi was at this point. I think in the long-term Matt joining was the best decision. He’s a very good showman, he exudes charisma, especially in their live concerts. I don’t think Avi would’ve been happy long-term being with PTX. He’s shining with his solo career and I think he’s much happier.
@@jcs1025 Avi was the bass they needed on _The Sing-Off,_ but I agree; Matt is the bass they need now. And you're absolutely right about Avi; he was obviously growing in a different direction from the rest of #Pentatonix and it couldn't have continued much longer without causing major conflict. He seems to be much happier writing and performing his own music in his preferred genre, and more power to him. Pentatonix has always behaved like a family, a *functional* family, and good families take care of their own. A time came when the best way to care for Avi was to let him go, so that's what they they did, even though it hurt. But despite the pain it's worked out well for them. Everyone currently in the band seems to be very happy to be there, which means the family, and the band, thrive.

Kirstin's daughter, Elliana Violet, was born on June 28, 2022. She is now a toddler, and Kirstin has been a mother for over two years. I imagine she gets plenty of exercise running around after a child in her "terrible twos." As for Kirstin sounding better now, listen to some of their other recent releases. They *all* do; their voices just keep improving with age. Scott's range is very close to matching Matt's at this point, and Matt's range is *huge.* Mitch, Scott, and Kirstin all have tattoos, and Mitch just seems to keep getting more. As far as I know they're all real. The rhythm section has two parts: percussion and bass. That means Kevin and either Matt or Avi. Watch Matt's lips while you listen to Kevin's beatboxing - it almost looks like he's beatboxing, too, because he's so in sync with Kevin, but he's actually singing the bass part of the drum sound. Kevin's "drums" always sound more real with Matt than they did with Avi; I put this down to Matt being more subtle than Avi. He adds *just* enough bass to make the drums sound real, so that instead of hearing a beatboxer and a bass you just hear drums. You *always* noticed Avi's bass; you don't always notice Matt's. I miss Avi's beautiful basso profundo as much as anyone else, but I *really* appreciate Matt's subtlety. I think Pentatonix lucked out when they found Matt.
Mitch's tattoo journey is a work in progress. On the video for BR, Mitch had the bats on his left hand. He now has som sort of flower on his right hand. Not sure if they are roses or not. He has a lot of tattoos all over him. He also has a tendency to wear clothes that are way too large for him. As a costume designer it drives me to drink but it's the aesthetic he wants.

It's an easy mistake to make, because historically Mitch has shown a tendency to wear clothing that fitted him like a tent (think of his shirt in "Aha Singapore the Star Vista" - shudder). But also historically Mitch's weight has shown a great tendency to fluctuate, all the way from emaciated to seriously overweight. I myself tend to buy dresses that I can wear and look good in regardless of what my weight does, but that's easier with dresses than with shirts and trousers. Mitch's weight changes were being caused by an eating disorder, which was a symptom of Imposter Syndrome. And the Imposter Syndrome was caused by the bullying he received in high school - Mitch has been suffering badly for a *long* time. But I've heard that during the pandemic lockdown it finally got so bad that he got therapy for it. Certainly since then his weight has stabilized, and he acts like he finally feels at home in his own body. I *think* that at this point he actually believes his band mates when they say he's the best singer in #Pentatonix; I certainly hope so, because it's true, and he *needs* to believe it.

Yes Mitch does like to wear oversized clothing but pretty sure the big shoulders on Mitch’s suit are supposed to be designed that way. He’s very into fashion so sometimes people that don’t follow fashion like he does don’t understand that that’s actually the design of the suit. Everything below the shoulders seem to fit him just fine. Meaning it’s not oversized. Oh and it’s perfectly fine to call Kirstin, Kirstie. The band members call her both names and so do many fans. In fact in their Starships song, her rap line is “ my name is Kirstin you can call me Kirstie. I think originally done because so many people mispronounce it and put the R before the I. By interviewers she gets called Kristen and Kiersten a lot.

Thanks for the reaction. They all sound even better. I believe they still take voice lessons to see how much higher or lower they can go and it shows.
