The blind guy made me so sad because the whole time I totally expected the twist to be that he was doing compressions on some inanimate object
The “pig” (hippo) story had me dying laughing even tho it was so short. I can only imagine that guys frustrations when op asked “sir are you drunk” while he’s starring at a damn hippo who has no business being in a small one stoplight town. Idky that’s so damn funny to me, but I’m cracking the fuck up again! 🤣

Definitely the best story in this video, the amount of “goddamn it why do yall not believe me!! This is a serious public safety hazard!!” this guy musta been feeling gotta be off the charts. Like, “my only choice will be to become a superhero movie protagonist and take on this mutant pig by myself if yall dont believe me n send someone down here” levels of stressed, ya know? Even tho that story was literally 30sec long it had me dying, I was just imagining this guy who’s super frustrated because clearly there’s a “giant pig” (hippo) in the intersection of a small one stoplight town & he doesn’t understand why the operator doesn’t believe him... maybe because a hippo has no business being in a small town let alone being loose (wild) in this country in the first place sir. Mind you the operator was also probably a bit frustrated thinking she was getting a prank call or something, vet she was surprised when she heard there truly was a “giant pig” running around. LOL

Recently, a cab driver in Berlin reported an accident with a wild animal, namely with a "hamster with large teeth" (his description). Police arrived to find it was a wild hog.
How the fuck does he not know what a wild boar is!?
Aren’t they everywhere in Europe?
Something like this happened to my brother-in-law's best friend. That friend is a nurse in the California DOC.
He was driving along and saw people on the side of the road. They had hit a bobcat and it was injured but still alive. M BIL's friend decided he would take the bobcat to an emergency vet. But the animal woke up in his back seat and decided it did not want to go to the vet.
The guy eventually got his car door open but then had to call 911 and go to the ER.
Don't put injured wild animals in your car. Especially if said animal has sharp teeth and or claws and is quite strong. (Bobcats are very very strong for their size). You know you are trying to help, but the animal does not.
Not 911, but I was an OnStar dispatcher. Had a guy call me because his "car had stopped running and needed to be towed." After more questioning he had been in a massive accident, the car was ON FIRE and he wanted us to move the car before police arrived because he had been drinking. Dude. No.
I made a real weird call to not 911. The police had just arrested a guy outside my apartment. The guy was fighting like hell and it took several cops to get the guy arrested.
After they left I went out to check my mail and saw a gun laying in the street. I picked it up and took it inside and called the non-emergency number for the police.
This gets you the same person you get if you call 911, but it is on a non-emergency line.
I explained one of the cops had dropped a flash light and if they could send someone by I'd give it back.
3 minutes later a cop knocked on the door. I left the gun on the table and was greeted by a gunless cop. I told him he could come inside to collect his "flashlight."
The cop looked and said, "That is not a flashlight."
"Well, officer, it can't be a gun, because a cop who loses his gun like that would be in big trouble, so I just assumed it was a weird looking flashlight."
Having a friend on the police force can be really handy, even if you aren't a criminal. At the time I had no car and he would sometimes see me and offer me a ride.
I don't know if he ever admitted he had lost his gun or not, but I just wanted to avoid the hassle that finding a gun would create.
That one with the beheaded cat around 17 mins in... that's gutwrenching. I hope he or the cops found who did it somehow. :( Poor baby

I had this playing while I washed my face at the mirror. I noticed my eyelid started twitching after that story.
I was once mugged by burning bees. It was a very strange experience, then I woke up.
I asked the Chief of Campus PD about the weirdest REAL call he ever had. A lesbian couple had bought some old police handcuffs and decided to cuff their wrists together for some bunga bunga. They lost the key. Luckily one of them figured "Well, they're cop cuffs! And cops got keys to cop cuffs!"
I mean, the logic is there

I am a horse owner for eighteen years and in the riding community for twenty-four years.
I´ve heard many stories through the years about accidents with horses: broken bones, severed thumb, collapsed/punctured lung, hooves against the head etc.
Witnessed quite a few too, some of them even happening to me (broke three toes, and severely bruised both knees, my lower back and my tail-bone, also had a periostitis from a horse jumping on my foot just to name the major ones). And of cause I know that there are accidents where the horse falls and buries the rider under it.
But I´ve never heard of it directly nor have I heard of it through any other person that this happened to someone I know/knew or to someone, someone else knew.
WTF did they do to the poor horses to have them all "collapse" on the rider?!

His explanation of "I was washing them in the shower when I slipped" reminded me of my wife's aunt, who's a nurse, relating the story of a guy who had a foam pool noodle stuck up his ass. Guy claimed he jumped off the diving board into the pool and the noodle got lodged up his ass. Sure, Jan. If you landed on a pool noodle, you'd just have pushed it out of the way. It wouldn't accidentally get lodge in your rectum.
Kind of makes me wonder about the thought process when someone gets something jammed up their butt. "OK, how can I make this sound it was an accident and I'm totally not into ass play?"

My sister's horse once fell and injured my sister. All I can remember is us visiting my sister in the hospital. The hallways were massive.
The guy in the first call was probably Nicholas Cage
16:08 I had a high school student who wrote in her journal that she was going to go home after school, kill her abusive father, and then off herself. (I never revealed what students wrote in their weekly journals unless they are someone else was in danger, and this was the one time I ever reported.) Turns out that her abusive dad was BLIND, but he was apparently pretty damned good at finding and beating his children (not sure but he may have been doing more than beating her). Anyway, the principal and I intervened and got her to promise not to do anything and to come see him immediately when she got to school next. She did, and it all turned out OK.

That story of the son committing suicide was fucking awful! I cried for that one. I couldn’t imagine losing a child!
I sympathize with the one with the owl, I live both right by an elementary school and also near a wooded area. We get a lot of deer. When ever I see a dead deer I get my brothers and we put on gloves and try to push the deer into the wooded area out of sight. If we don't the kids would have to walk right by a dead deer on the way home. It's not a big deal but I like to think I'm helping these kids lol
I have 15 years dispatching experience, here's a few of my strange calls:
Get a call one Saturday morning from a guy saying that some guy showed up at his house out in the country. Guy said that a bunch of guys in cars who were friends of his ex-girlfriend were chasing him. Sent a deputy out and he gave the guy a ride to his house. The next morning, Sunday morning, I get a call from another resident in another part of the county with the exact same story. Guy says that a bunch of guys who are friends of his ex-girlfriend have been chasing him in cars all over the county. Same deputy gets there, totally different guy. We figure they must have gotten the same bad batch of drugs or something.
The owl story reminded me of a call I received one evening. Guy said that a woman coming to work the night shift at a local plant had hit an animal, didn't know what it was so she put it on the floor board of her car. Got to work and told coworkers about it, they went out to look at it and found that it was a bobcat. A live, still breathing but still unconscious bobcat. Someone picked it up and put it in the bed of a pickup. Deputy arrived, not really sure what to do with the bobcat. Everyone's standing around at a distance looking at it when it wakes up, looks around a bit, and then jumps down and takes off for parts unknown. Luckily the bobcat didn't wake up when the woman was still driving. That would have been bad.
We used to have an elderly woman call every single day, on every single shift, saying that some guys next door were using a machine to torture a dog and the machine was making her whole house shake. We'd send an officer by once in a while to spotlight her house so she'd know we were in the area. Then one day someone realized that we hadn't heard from her in a couple days so we sent someone by to check on her. She had passed out on the floor but was still alive. Called EMS who took her to the hospital, but she didn't end up making it. That was the end of those crazy calls.
Family calls 911 around 11 PM because they're having trouble breathing. Caller is coughing and so are people in the background. It was fall and the weather had just gotten cooler, so I'm thinking it's carbon monoxide poisoning. I tell them to get out of the house and I send EMS, fire, and officers to the residence. Nope, wasn't carbon monoxide. They had set off two bug bombs in the house, one upstairs, one downstairs, and went to bed. One of the officers said the cockroaches were pouring out of the walls.
Drunk caller calls 911 one evening to report his house was stolen. Called the next night to say that they brought it back.
Get a 911 call one evening, R/P reporting a drive-by shooting. R/P heard a loud pop and glass shattering. Officers arrive on scene, was no drive-by, the residents had decided to make homemade wine in a glass jug, and instead of using an airlock or balloon they tightly capped the jug so the pressure built up until it exploded. Officer said there was glass embedded in the ceiling.
It's amazing how stupid people can be. If it kills the bugs, odds are it's not going to be healthy for you to consume.
My husband does pest control and people tend to be of one of two camps - the ones who are told to stay gone for 4 hours but don't bother listening and just go right back in, or the ones that go and clean their counters and cabinets after they are sprayed because they are afraid of the pesticides, effectively negating the service they just paid for.
@@Karamarika Well, you really had to know these people. I once read a narrative statement given by the mother on an unrelated case, and I literally couldn't make heads or tails out of what she had written.

If 911 Operators take anything away from these stories, I hope it is to not Discredit the Caller no matter how crazy they sound.

The first call reminds me of my ex-husband when a wasp dive bombed him! He was screaming, "BEEEE!" I just LMAO thinking about it! By the way my ex wasn't alergic to bee stings. I hope that man in the story wasn't alergic either.

If a blind person wants to hurt you in an enviroment familiar to them then they very much can, and it doesnt help you that their hearing is usually way better than yours so even sneaking might not work against them.
Make as much background noise as possible. Running taps, banging pots and pans, central heating/air...
You should hope you aren't wearing a lot of perfume or smoke etc.
Had to call 911 as I was driving home in a very hot lightning storm. A man was standing in the grass median of the highway using a weed eater. There were close strikes happening every 10-15 seconds and this guy was just asking to get toasted. I hope someone got him out of there.
honestly thought the services sent to the blind guy was going to find him doing cpr on a pillow or something lol.
My ex husband taught Farm Machinery Safety at a SUNY to Equestrian Students. There were a few fatalities. Horses are a dangerous business.
7:10 Holy crap, that sounds like something I experienced one time. I was bench pressing far over my typical max weight, and on my last rep I was definitely straining myself too hard, and I heard a little "pop" and the back of my head/neck got really tight. I had this terrible headache for literally 2 days (maybe more), and just a little nausea, but not enough to actually cause me to throw up. I always wondered what caused that to happen... Obviously it may not have been a tear in my "arachnoid meningeal tissue", but it sounds exactly like what I experienced. However it went away after like 3 or 4 days of just lying down with an ice pack and the lights off.
3:50 I hope he managed to save his life. My call center doesn't handle emergencies, more like IT for a specific service, but the computers at the locations have our phone numbers on the lock screen and desktop so I suppose if for some reason someone thinks of dialing our number for an emergency it would get very hectic. Though unlike that guy we do have internet access so I think we'd have a slightly easier time figuring out where they were.

I once came back to my dorm really late like 2 or 3 am. I had to do laundry as I had class at 8 and had no clean uniform tops. Got my basket and dragged it down the sidewalk and there was a huge Owl between me and the laundry room. Just standing in the grass just staring. we both stopped, stated and It charged at me and we danced and dodged and I managed to lock it in the commons hallway. I called our campus non-emergency line and the lady did not believe me. She assumed I was drunk as it was 2 am. I was not at all drunk. She was not understanding me at all and she asked if I needed medical assistance. My smart-ass reply was "I do not need medical attention but this owl will if you don't send animal control. Hell even a a cop with a net will work gosh dammit," Eventually animal control came by and we got the owl looked at, determined it was ok and let it out of the laundry room. I was advised to watch my scratches for sings of infection.

There is a town in northern Germany and after a flood the phone provider messed up and because of that if you wanted to call the police station not via 911 in Berlin Kreuzberg and didn't dial the inbound you ended up at the barber shop in that town
Was non-emergency, but weirdest was a man asking if it is illegal for his wife to screw her brother. Divorce was to follow.
I once had a guy who wanted us to arrest his wife for sleeping with another guy because in our state adultery is technically illegal. I told him that they'd have to be witnessed in the act, and even then no prosecuting attorney is going to bring those charges. He then wanted us to send an officer to the boyfriend's house where she was staying and tell them that what she's doing is wrong, and again I refused. We're not the morality police.
I mean, it was probably an emergency to her.

19:00 As a Brit, this is weird to me. Does every town have it's own 911 call center? Why not do it at county level?
That was from a while ago when the 911 service was still relatively new and we still had to have operators to get your call to the right place. Nowadays all places have this service and even disconnected phones can access it.
Gregory Clark Also yes all city's or county's have their own dispatch center which connects to that city or county's police, fire, EMS and so on.
You see, when your country is the size of a single state, that might work. America is about half of a continent (or one third. Actually one third sounds more correct), so having a single call center for that would be like having a single call center for a third of Europe.

I have been part of a pig in the road call! Pretty freaking funny and 10 or so years later I still get a kick out of the officers face when he realized that the pig wasn’t a potbellied pig that he was just going to put in his cruiser’s back seat. Oh no, this was a full grown 300# or so meat pig( don’t know pig breeds) it’s 3 AM and the cop has no idea what to do or who to call. My house was close so I suggested we get it into our yard secure the gate and let the neighbor know where his missing pig was. Damn neighbor didn’t even bother thanking us for securing his pig!
Also recently had to call 911 for help! Very unusual call requiring several neighbors also calling 911 as the dispatcher thought it was a joke!
The reason for the call! My horse a 16 hand 1,200# Thoroughbred/Paint mare. Escaped her corral and ended up trying to run across a old mobile home floor and fell through. She was trapped and I didn’t have any help or way of getting her out of the floor. Next call was to the vet! After clarifying what had happened he was on his way.
Had the cops, the Fire department and the vet at my place. That was a couple of months ago. Silly mare is doing well and with the exception of 1 injury is almost fully healed. We have new scars and she hasn’t tried to make a break for it since the accident!
Best part is that some of the crew that came out already had a history of rescuing this very horse during another misadventure a few years prior! They had to cut her off a fence post after she hung herself by her RT butt cheek.
cue small town PD getting a domestic violence report at zero dark:30 a.m. patrol arrives and disrupts a mad-sex session between two 70 year-olds. ya never know (i'm 68.wife is 72. i can relate) :: sleep well, lemon shibby

As funny as calls can be, I was one of the more panicked callers one night and I'm sure I was a part of the job that makes it hard. I was screaming and crying because I heard a thud and I ran into the bathroom to find my grandfather on the floor. He had a heart attack and fell, hitting his head. He died twice in front of me. I had to give him CPR.
So, as funny as it can be, it's probably not fun to deal with calls like that.
I'm the only dumb guy that read 9/11 operators.

To a psych ward, so she could get help for her psychological symptoms. It is only possible to do so when the person wants the help themselves or when they are a danger to themselves or others.
