the fact that this doesn't even have 1K likes yet is a crime against humanity
It’s easily my favorite Guster song and I’m sad more people don’t know about them. The world is missing out
@@anonymousjunkmail8162 Same, find myself listening on repeat at the gym or in the car
It does now!
My favorite Guster song.
It’s up there
Sad tho..
i’m torn between wanting Guster to get big and get the fame they deserve and wanting to keep them my small little band i can show to my friends and just have a good time listening to.
I feel this way about everything I listen to.
Well don't the two of you just have better taste than everyone else 😂
Feel like they were on the verge of blowing up when I was in high school, but just never quite did. My group of friends and I all liked them a lot. Am 33 now. They're criminally underrated and have seen them live several times. Bro on the bongos is a beast.
People have been saying this since '95.
This stuff got me through high school, love it boys.
This is Pet Sounds quality song recording. This whole album. Shame on the World for not acknowledging this masterpiece.
How could "This World" ?
Well I acknowledge this album. As do the Paladians.
Actually, I live in the desert in the southwest and the one radio station we do get only plays pre-1980 classic rock. I was out of town in a nearby semi-civilized proto-quasi-city/state in nearby Texas and they were playing this CD as it was the release date. I bought it because I figured they were probably famous out in the rest of the world. I had the CD for maybe about a month when me and my former girlfriend were in a terrible car accident in the car she was driving. It, along with everything we had in the car, was a casualty of that moment. I had thought about that album two or three times between then and now and couldn’t seem to bring my brains to give me the name of the band or any of the songs, until just now. I was putting a playlist together for my lady friend and she wanted a song by Gus Dapperton or someshit and I typed G-u-s and Guster popped up! Holy shit. I immediately just listened to the whole album and I’ll admit I cried quite a bit. But that’s over and I can enjoy all these wonderful songs again and now that I remembered who this band is, I can listen to all their other songs that I’ve never ever heard before.
Fucking genius on par with pet sounds they deserve more
Love this album and band
My son loves this band! I first listen you guys in 2005! Parachute is still my favorite!!
def the best song
LYRICS:
Ramona, where have you been?
I couldn't go to sleep till you came in
Ramona, you're Miss Oklahoma
and you miss Oklahoma
I'll get you what you want
There were days when a refrain
Would brighten our corner of Hickory Lane
When you would sing that song for me
Just like your favorite singer
Why'd you have to be so nice?
A wink and a girlish smile
And why'd you have to punch my eye?
That was something
but I still want you to stay
When I was younger and thought of myself
I never dreamed I'd become like this
A snap of your fingers,
and end to the arguments
Anything for you, love
There were days when a refrain
Would brighten our corner of Hickory Lane
When you would sing that song for me
The only one you know
But I know now, not at the start,
We're going to pieces, we're falling apart
So won't you sing that song for me
just like your favorite singer?
Google results, UltimateGuitar, your comment... everyone says it's "But I still want you to stay," but I've always heard "But did you want me to stay?" and still do in this recording.
@@gfixler I completely agree, I honestly just copy/pasted lol
Peak song
beutiful
Corona.. where did you sneeze,
I tell ya, there's lots of people not too pleased,
Corona, you're in Oklahoma.. and outside Oklahoma,
Better get a mask,
'Cause there were days.. when I could go,
Out to a venue and watch a good show,
When I could bring my friends with me,
And see my favorite singers..
Ramona, come closer. Shut softly your watery eyes.
Listening in 2018
I found this song just a couple of weeks ago but it still gives me chills, it's such a good one. :) Anyway, what's the Hickory Lane reference? All I know is it's a place in Boston. Is it the place where the members of the band used to live or just needed to be 'brightened up' as the song says for some reason?
I kinda wish THIS SONG was in Scott Pilgrim Takes Off! Perhaps in season 2, if it were a thing.
this is in the official scott pilgrim playlist made by the creator, i wonder if he got her name from this song?
This feels so 80's
