In this episode, we have a very special guest; Shri SM Sahai IPS (Retd). He is a Retd IPS Officer 1987 batch of the J&K AGMUT cadre. He has also served as an Additional Secretary of, the Internal Affairs Division in the National Security Council Secretariat under the Prime Minister’s Office (2016-2023).
SM Sahai IPS (Retd) shared his experience and knowledge that he gained throughout his professional life. He dwelled upon topics like the truth about The Kashmir Files and the unrealistic portrayal of facts, the key difference between a terrorist and an insurgent, Article 370, and the present-day scenario of Kashmir.

As a Kashmiri Pandit let me make it clear the Kashmiri Pandits he is referring to, those who didn't like the movie belong to a particular section who have links to NC, PDP, JKLF and communist groups. I even know some of them in person who were paid to say so. And to what this man is saying that numbers were very less, a statement often quoted by leftist and liberals ...let me tell you there have been so many killings in villages that went unnoticed. Do you people believe that police would have covered all the cases keeping in consideration all chaos and mayhem. Till date the SC has failed to deliver the justice rather it has delayed the justice which eventually made them to say that it's too old to be heard. Not even a single perpetrator has been punished till date.
To answer this ignorant uncle, we have seen what all happened on streets. How Justice Neelkanth Ganjoo was gunned down in broad daylight and no one even dared to touch his body, how Tikalal Taploo's forehead was carved out (near brakuti, where we apply Tilak)...in order to send a message that they are attacking our identity, how BN Ganjoo was gunned down in a rice drum and his wife was made to eat his blood soaked rice and that too his location was revealed by his muslim neighbour, how Sarla tickoo was abducted by a group of Kashmiri Muslims (2 were here colleagues) who gangraped and sodomized her and later did cut her body using a saw, how Prana Ganjoo was gangraped and her breasts were cut and later her body was thrown on road. There are countless incidents....these Muslims used to get on roads in thousands and shout slogans like 'asy banawaw Pakistan bataw warey batnyan saan' (we will make Pakistan without pandits but with there wives), yaha kya chalega nizame Mustafa , kashmir mein rehna hoga to Allah o Akbar kehna hoga. Muslims used to barge into Kashmir pandit areas at night and shout slangs and pass remarks like, we will rape your daughter, she will sit on my lap and mark their gates. Just imagine the level of trauma and pain. And this man has the audacity to belittle our genocide.

The movie didn't villify entire Muslims of kashmir. It showed that not only terrorists from Pakistan killed people it was ALSO A COMMON NEIGHBOR who aided them. The movie clearly showed cops who were Muslims as being helpless and wanting help them... The movie did not villify the kashmiri police.

Still I didn't get which part was wrong?? All the incidents that were shown has been based true incidents. Their names are present as well as their articles in local newspapers are also present. All the characters potrayed negatively are present in reality and have given those speeches. No where did it mention that all Muslims have done it. Infact i remember a scene where a muslim family helps and he and his son are killed. Even in the speech sufferings of the Muslims were told. And it's a fact that from there masjids such announcements were made like leave your women back. So what exactly was wrong part. And 70% Muslims would have helped a lot then such thing wouldn't have happened in the first place but they didn't which is a fact so what can a director show??

Many Kashmiri Pandits themselves had denounced the movie. The movie, just like many opportunistic politicians over the years, uses the pain of Kashmiri Pandits for their own benefit without any actual efforts to transform their plight.

If only they would understand. I am disappointed with how this country treats our community. They are always being biased towards the ones who did it. The movie clearly doesn't villify Kashmiri Muslims but it is infact the truth that most of them, if not all of them aided the terrorists and did infact, forced us to leave the valley. And even after all that, solid evidence to support our people did lose their lives, we did migrate, genocide did happen, it's still a surprise to see all these people trying to paint an entirely different narratives in which the ones who did the bad deeds get to be called the victims and the ones who actually are the victims are apparently faking it, or just aren't victims in their eyes. The debate should be about whether our people will move to Kashmir one day or even get justice ,but instead it's about trying to whitewash the ones who did it or completely ignoring the suffering Kashmiri Pandits went through.

Vilification of Kashmiri Muslims is unjust, I agree on that but the exodus, rape, killing & torture of the Kashmiri Pundits was solely religious in nature. Sermons were used to incite & instigate mobs to attack Hindus which can not be denied. Neighbors became informers to the mobs who carried out the genocide. Kashmir Files if anything did not show the full extent of what happened to Kashmiri Pundits, it was much more horrific & shocking.

Same thing happened to Sindhis and Punjabis during partition. Uprooted overnight. Agree then also there might be many who didn't support it but they just watched in silence rather than taking action. It may be true that some muslims in the security forces too would have lost their lives while on duty, for the terrorists do not discriminate among whom they consider their enemies. The name of Abdul Hameed, a param veer chakra awardee in the 1965 Indo-pak war, always remains in memory.The sacrifice of these muslims while discharging their duties is as noble as anybody elses', yet they do not in any way mitigate the gravity and horror of islamic barbarism ever since their invasions began in the middle ages, right through to the present period in kashmir. The main target of the terrorists have always been the Hindus, while the muslims in security forces lost their lives only because they came in the way of the terrorists, though as stated before now, their sacrifice in the call of duty is no less noble. The Kashmir files strove to depict the diabolical nature of the terrorists' acts of violence against the Hindus as accurately as is cinematically possible. It is not correct to charge the makers of Kashmir Files with false depiction, for not exonerating the muslims by not specifically including those muslims in the security forces who laid down their lives. The movie was about Kashmiri Pandiths, not about security forces.

Looking at this clip makes me realise:
people with vast on-ground real life experience can still end up with half baked perspectives of a situation. We sometimes expect too much from career policeman, bureaucrats etc. They aren’t always perfect thinkers/analysts.
And no, I do not think ‘the Kashmir files’ vilified the entire Muslim community. It just told a particular story, a story where, for a Kashmiri pandit, the moderate/peaceful Kashmiri Muslim had become largely irrelevant. That does not mean that the film by omission, vilified all Muslims. An implication of this sort can be made by a viewer (which would be erroneous). That’s not the fault of the movie.
And no, to focus on ‘mistakes’ of the Jagmohan administration are just ways to deflect attention from the perpetrators and conspirators. What can a governor do when an entire region’s administration has been overrun by armed terrorists and their sympathisers and there is zero political will at the centre to take significant wholesome steps for KP security. At least he facilitated an escape and saved lives of many KPs.

No of kashmiri pandits who died was less as said by the guest but what was their fault. they were not asking for azadi or pakistan. secondly even senior officers in the govt commented to kashmiri pandits that 26-jan-1990 , pakistani flag will be flown in kashmir. thats why genocide of kashmiri pandits took place and aftermath the mass migration took place. if they would have stayed in kashmir, they would have been killed in large numbers.
Ranveer please stop this balancing act just to gain the wider scope of attention. Already we hindus are not united due to caste system and all which consequently makes lesser no. of ppl believing in our narrative. This divisions in our hindu society has cost us a lot in terms of not having stable govt at centre bcoz muslims dont vote for bjp anyway. Now after 75 yrs we are trying to catch up the rest of the world in development, we need very majority govt at centre. MOdern day television did not tell the truth about the Kashmiri Hindu Pandits. Why ? Did not K-Files tell that part of the story. It is a long process to tell the Whole truth. Did not Vishal Bharadwaj's movie Haider tell only 1 side of the story? So, As many sides there is to J&K situation, those many stories need to be made in Movies, podcasts etc.
But to start that the K-Files is INCORRECT is blatantly wrong way to start the podcast. Again only partially truth cannot be rubbished away by saying that the K-Hindus did not face what was depicted in K-Files. So PLease do not make these kind of incorrect statements. - The Movie never said that the K-Muslims did not face the brunt of the terrorism in Kashmir. The movie is correct. Agree with it.

the highlight of the podcast is "THE STATE FAILED". Exactly what is going on in Manipur right now. I am not blaming any of the communities here, but nobody can deny that the state doesn't pay any heed to the problems when it is prevailing at present. I am 100% sure five years or ten years down the line a beautiful decent budget Bollywood movie will be made named 'MANIPUR FILES", where people will watch the movie, one section will blame the kukis, other section will blame the Meiteis...but none will say now that why didn't Modi or Shah bother to visit the state even once. Where is the national media who cried so much on the ISRAEL-PALESTINE war, but took 3 months to telecast the atrocities taking place in the Manipur Valley.

I am a Kashmiri Pandit born after 1990, even if I wanted to go back, I cannot. However never for a minute is it correct to assume I am distant from my culture. My forefathers have continued their traditions, I continue to practice them even today even if they make no sense in my geography, and so will my progeny. They kill us, the state buries us and that is a reality we accept, we just leave it up to our fellow countrymen and countrywomen to either join us or leave us, however we cannot be stopped. We were part of the Cabinet once, we will be in the PMO too.

They belong to the Central Asian Aryan stock and many have converted to Semitic-Islam a good religion like any other. Thus, the Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmiti Muslims have the same ethnicity, culture, language, etc. The only difference is religion. Thus, Kashmiriyat will survive. What happened in the late 80s and early 90s should not surprise anyone. Tiny Pakistan a pimp state was used to create trouble for India by her backers. One of the best commanders of the great Maharaja Ranjit Singh Sandhu’s army was a Kashmiri Pandit Col. Ayodhya Prasad. Like the Zoroastrians they lack numbers and I am a witness to the fact that their physical and mental capabilities are extraordinary. The Great Gama came from the family of converted Kashmiri Brahmans. Only Mr. Putin comes close to Indira Gandhi as a great leader. India now has the means to bring back these people to their beloved home Kashmir (India) and this must be done as quickly as possible. India is a diverse thus colorful country hence this tiny community adds flavor to India. Kashmiriyat will and must survive and let all the terrorists be liquidated and the Kashmiris love India as the Chechens do to their beloved Russia and Mr. Putin. In from jammu ....here was an incident before 2014 ....3 millitant in indian army's uniform...stops the car in the highway and ask for lift ....and in car there was sikh brother who drove the car ....they said him go to army camp but he was going in wrong path so that they put his all his turban
cloth into his mouth...u can imagine how large is sikh's turban it can't fit in mouth ..after that they cut his neck and throw out of car ...and attack army campus....my outlook is that never ever believe anyone especially muslims frnds, neighbour, and even in during driving....vote for BJP otherwise next is ours turn
