Our classic balisongs hand forged in batangas philippines are the best. These ones might have better material and dimensions but nothing beats the classics.
That's why I'm starting out with a trainer first before thinking to buy a bladed one. Plus, my brothers keep messing with my stuff so they might find it and cut themselves with it without me knowing.
Thanks 50 blades ! I use your tutorials consistently. I started flipping at 14 and recently got back into it at 26. Using a live brs barebones and ive landed this move twice because of you !!
Still needs consistency and polish, but I've got the basics of the trick down in like 20 minutes and I've only been flipping a few days. Excellent tutorial! I really liked how you broke it into chunks! The second thumbaround was confusing watching the full combo, but split up it's much clearer how it works. Thanks for the breakdown!
I bought a trainer about a month ago and watched countless tutorials your videos are by far the best learned Zen rollover in a few hours from watching your video now trying to get the 8ball down and get a sharp blade
gonna have too watch this 13 thousand times to understand the second part but still worth it thanks also i play it 0.25x speed and its still faster then the speed of light to me oh well cant wait to master this trick
YourLie sorry bout that, I know I went a little fast in this video and I have tried to go slower in more recent videos to make it easier to follow along
I love this channel. Its so "straight to the point" and thats what makes me like it. You also explain the trick very good and about 80% of all the tricks I know comes from you :) Btw thats a super cool knife! PS: Your channel name is genius!
I'm soooo glad that you are recording this videos ♥I learned such a cool things :) It's not quite it, but I try and I really like how you explain that. Thank you and keep recording ♥
Hey I had a quick question. So I've got the first two rollovers down, but I'm having trouble rotating the knife 180 degrees in order for the third rollover, and the knife is going too fast for me to see an easy way to do it. I'm using a standard replicant, so the handles are decently radiused, I just can't figure out how to spin the knife while it's moving. Any pointers? EDIT: I realized you aren't rotating the knife, you're rolling your wrist. I'm still having issues though, any tips on how to train that movement?
Tyler Woolstenhulme Ok, here is the thing, on behind the 8 ball, the first two rollovers are supposed to rotate around your fingers 360 degrees. This is why he is able to go into the last thumb rollover. He doesn't rotate is wrist.
But he does a little rotation thing from 0:11-0:13 which I assume is done to keep momentum going. I've actually been able to do it since I wrote this comment, but I'm sure my form is terrible.
Tyler Woolstenhulme glad to hear you got it down somewhat! You'll notice that I don't actually spin the knife while it's moving I pause for a brief moment before the final rotation and use wrist to rotate it slightly so that it spins open. It looks like one smooth continuous movement but the trick is comprised of segmented parts It will get better and smoother the more you do it from my experience. Just need to get used to the movement
wooo this is such a fun one, got all the moves down but damn ur flow is so sick, after the first 10 seconds of this vid my jaw dropped. literally watched the first 10 secs over and over and every time i see it, it looks unbelievably smooth. sick vids man and beautiful knife
acidrain 3000 thank you, glad you enjoyed it 👊🏻 but keep at it, sometimes you have to practice till you get lucky and then you remember what it feels like and find yourself learning the trick in no time from there
its so bad that there are not many cool trainers out there.... I only Know the Squid trainer ( a dream of mine xD) and some overpriced other trainers...
Hey, great tutorial! I'm able to do every single step independently (like how you did in your first breakdown) but I can't seem to keep the momentum when I slip my thumb in to switch out of the index rollover, any tips? I've tried moving my wrist and positioning my hand differently but none of it seems to work
xJeD there will be a slight pause initially but it will get faster over time with practice. I hate to say practice more because it's generic advice but balisong tricks are mainly muscle memory
@@t_dxb Yup, I don't practice flipping anymore and haven't for years but whenever I pick one up I'm still able to do pretty much everything I learned without thinking about it (including behind the 8ball). Muscle memory from repetition is absolutely a huge factor in learning these tricks, just keep at it and once you get it you'll probably never lose it.
I hear that curved handle balisongs are hard to do tricks with, since the pivots are at such a dramatic offset from each other, but I don't flip, though I plan to get a trainer soon.
Sinder egg thank you! I bought this one from bladehq.com when it was in stock. I think they are actually doing another release of this model this Friday or weekend
Hey man, awesome video. My balisong is still in the mail right now, but I can't wait to learn the tricks you show on your channel! Also what balisong are you using in all your videos?
Mark Collier hard call, both are knives intended to aid you in flipping. I think the replicant makes aerial tricks easier while the beast can make technical tricks easier but I wouldn't call the difference make or break
HowToDrinkBleachAndNotDie you have slow motion vodeo and you still need a coach? Yet in another comment you shit on someone for taking two hours to learn a rollover. Maybe you should take that guys lead and practice

Pepa Happypepik not much, the zen rollover and Y2K are both thumb rollovers. They are just more specific names that allow the trick to be more easily identified.

John Garcia can you get it around your thumb and you get cut during the last last part or does it stall out on you when you try to get the last roll?
