This whole interview is deffo one of my favourites. It annoys me when ppl say they were selling out with this one. I never bought that but this just proves how much time, effort, growing and love went into this whole album. They're just so inspiring!

I know about Mikey's problems, and G's, possibly WB's was causing serious problems - but I don't get ENDING the band. The band needed a break, filling in for Blink 182 in Jersey was a curse - they weren't ready to play again, they were on break, NEEDED a break - and G felt lifeless on stage and calls it quits. Why not just continue the break and get together when rested and healed. WTH happened that he had to END it? Not asking, it's a rhetorical question - no one knows & I'm not asking for internet gossip theories. I just don't get it. Break the contract with WB's if they were at creative differences - don't know how they could be, EVERY album with WB sold at least 1M - go home, heal, but to say we're never going to write together again?? Why? Frank's got a band, Ray, Mikey, and G - they all obviously still want to write, create, and perform. All four are too good to not be together, they create magic that the world needs.
toni hornauer no, it wasn't that he had to choose between one or the other. He just felt MCR had no gas left in the tank and he was feeling pretty tortured over it, and MCR5 wasn't the story he wanted to tell at the time.
I will kind of echo your sentiment by saying I personally feel it was a strategic mistake to end the band entirely rather than to go on a long hiatus. Bands don't break up but go away, sometimes for decades, but don't really break up. Now, WHEN Gerard decides to reform MCR, he has a lot of pride and humble pie to eat in the process. He's kind of already doing it as he's given interviews in the ensuing year since your initial comment that he wouldn't rule out a reunion. It's simply a matter of time.
3:12 I feel this. As a 12 year old, I have a lot of bad things going on. Issues regarding my whole family, my aunt having to go to court to keep her son and daughter from the man that hurt her daughter, and a LOT of yelling in my house. Everytime that I get the chance, I grab my earphones and I just blast my music (mainly mcr) to drown out all of the noise and I just draw. Drawing helps me keep my mind off of the things going on in my life; all I need to thinks about is colors, lines, and the music. I also listen to my music at school (before school, at break, lunch, after school, sometimes in class) to get away from the people that make my life worse. There was even a time that I willingly ignored this one kid in my last 2 classes. I didn't have any friends, and I didn't think I needed them. All of my friends before always left me for someone better, so why even try to socialize? That's what I had thought. But one time, in class, he had told me about the shit that goes on in his family and that he does the same things that I do, only, he tries to stay positive. I realized that we were actually the same. So I talked to him more often. I had actually stopped drowning out everything in my life with music. Sure I did it sometimes, but not as often. Then I met 2 other girls who were the same. We're all really close friends, but I think the guy is my closest friend. We really understand each other and we always find a way to comfort each other in our own way. I realise that these are the people that Gerard is talking about. I found a reason to not drown out everything in my life. These people give me a reason to take a look at my surroundings and thanks to them, I'm not as antisocial. So when I heard Gerard say this, I almost started to tear up because I realized that I had found those people

Danger Days has always had a summertime vibe and feel for me. That weird abstract feeling you get when the sun is in twilight, that golden haze that's warm but also feels like it lasts eternity. Danger Days is just awesome. Still holds up today.
This interview (all the five parts) were so inspiring. This was one of the best My Chemical Romance interviews. It made me tear up and it inspires me to make something out of myself than to just sleep in and not do anything because I'm depressed. But this made me think about my life and everything I have. I love My Chemical Romance so much. They're the most inspirational people ever❤️

Twilight obviously won't be around in 2019 but this band will still be in our hearts and thoughts in 2019. shows the difference between such a material useless "want it but dont need it" type of thing and something that actually has meaning and makes a difference and influences and saves people. something we can hold deep in our hearts and for some people, have a great debt to, because it truly did save some people's lives

i was thinking a week or so ago about Summertime and i read the lyrics through and thought about them when he says 'you stop the noise' it made me think it was about LynZ and at the end he says 'you can write it on your arm' well LynZ writes things on her arm whn she was onstage, alot of the time they where to Gerard or maybe to someone else, so that was really that made think it was about LynZ, and even one time LynZ and Gerard shared the line 'you can run away with me anytime you want'
What I take away from this interview: -A questioning of where part 3 went. -The want to write music again (I had taken a break from lyric writing, I wasn't really satisfied with any of my songs). -Pride for Gee writing something that he wants Bandit to take with her. Although I still think he should have given her the name Helena. ;3

I had an attachment to The Kids From Yesterday the moment I heard it. It was magical. The other songs I love are Bulletproof Heart, Save Yourself I'll Hold Them Back, Only Hope For Me Is You and Summertime.
Vampire Money is one of my favs. Like, the way the refrence it to Twilight is so obv if you pick it apart Like.. 'hair back, coller up, jet black, so cool' and 'when your ready drive a volvo car' I just think it's so brilliantly put together. Like not saying right out 'its so crap!' Twilight obviously won't be around in 2019 but this band will still be in our hearts and thoughts in 2019. shows the difference between such a material useless "want it but dont need it" type of thing and something that actually has meaning and makes a difference and influences and saves people. something we can hold deep in our hearts and for some people, have a great debt to, because it truly did save some people's lives

i was thinking a week or so ago about Summertime
and i read the lyrics through and thought about them
when he says 'you stop the noise' it made me think it was about LynZ and at the end he says 'you can write it on your arm' well LynZ writes things on her arm whn she was onstage, alot of the time they where to Gerard or maybe to someone else, so that was really that made think it was about LynZ, and even one time LynZ and Gerard shared the line 'you can run away with me anytime you want'

What I take away from this interview:
-A questioning of where part 3 went.
-The want to write music again (I had taken a break from lyric writing, I wasn't really satisfied with any of my songs).
-Pride for Gee writing something that he wants Bandit to take with her. Although I still think he should have given her the name Helena. ;3

listening to them go through this album song by song is so eye opening. you just see how much thought is put into their music. and it's not just music..it's art. theyre not musicians, theyre not icons, theyre artists. it's just so amazing for me to see how complex they are and ugh i love them.
p.s. there are a billion ADORABLE moments..but when gerard says "it's super badass" and they all giggle around 4:58 or so, it's just so cute. he like backs off of it hahahaha, yes gerard, youre a badass.

The other songs I love are Bulletproof Heart, Save Yourself I'll Hold Them Back, Only Hope For Me Is You and Summertime.
