    Great movement for warming up your hips with lighter weight before lower body workouts also.

    • @olwill1
      @olwill1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's my opinion (and I'm just an old turkey with no credentials), that if your KB is too light you;ll never achieve proper form.
      Question: What further lower body workout do you need, if you are using the proper weight KB for your strength?
      Bonus material: I've watched a lot of KB videos and I don't remember ever hearing the word "goal/goals". If you get competent doing a movement with a certain weight, get a heavier KB, if that's what you want. The increments are 2 or 4 kg, which means you have to cut down on reps until your fitness adapts to the new weight.

    • @IdrisFashan
      @IdrisFashan 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Heavy weights are instructional.
      You’ll learn your issues and weak techniques quickly by going up 4kilos! 😅
      I treat my kbs like they’re my older cousins… great to wrestle with, but they’ll put me in my place (or in hospital) if I get too out of line. 😂

    Out of every video and written guide i have seen (trust me, i have gone through alot) this video is an absolute master class in showing the form. Before, my lower back was sore after working, but after applying his tech with the arm and the push motion of the hips, not the snap that other guides talk about, my back had not even an iota of any work done on it. Positivley brillant, and i thank the search results that brought me here. You deserve much more.

Like when you are now standing straight up, am I supposed to squeeze or just let whatever happens, happen? BTW, I appreciate this especially because too many of these programs just seem to assume you know proper form. I am very concerned about proper form because of injuries, so someone focusing on that is really, really wonderful. My sincere thanks again.

      Pavel isnt good

    • @CarlosMendoza-mb3di
      @CarlosMendoza-mb3di 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Alex Gemi the Pavel swing is more from a squatting position . The emphasis is on loosening the groin muscle so that you squat properly ( knees not bending forward over the toes and thighs parallel to the ground ) but the rest of the movements the same with the kettlebell swing close to the body .

      @@RR42636 I thank you for your reply . My first intro into kettlebells was through Pavel videos years ago . I do see the pros of both methods . The gym I attended tends to frown on the hinge method . In fact anyone doing the hinge method at my gym the trainers tend to insist on doing the swing from a parallel squat position . This why I asked the question . I have seen older videos of old Russian guys doing all sorts of things with the kettlebell including the parallel squat . Also there is a lifting channel that despises kettlebells because many of his clients that use them ( The hinge method ) have difficulty doing barbell

    Muscles don’t feel fatigued or tired from lifting, as it feels like an easy workout otherwise. I guess swings are good at exposing an out of shape cardiovascular system - and hopefully will also help remedy that eventually.

      @@lonewatie8751 Incorrect. For example, in "kettlebell simple and sinister" he says to keep the upper arms snug against the ribs and forearms snug against upper, inner thighs and that the knee should not bend pass the midfoot. This is exactly what the video advocates by keeping the kettlebell close and not bending the knee much.
      The part I was confused by is Pavel's kettlebell usually ends up at shoulder level, but on the other hand, in the book he says it should end up between stomach and shoulder level, just let it go up naturally with arms loose like ropes. He emphasizes to let "the arms work on the negative, hips on the positive". I believe his kettlebell goes higher because he's just using a heavier weight than in the video and he probably does let it float more than in the video.

      @@internetzpotato383 yeah its kinda hard to control exacly how high the kettlebell goes, since it moves from the momentum caused by the movement of the hips. Your arms should not pull the kettlebell upward, but instead control the way down, for it not to go far behind your back.

    Really glad I saw this. If you search Pavel demonstrating it, he's doing it in a intensely back shearing way.

    Was your university built by Allen Stanford by any chance ?. I'm just curious as I was watching a documentary by a man who " bought cricket " and his name is the same as this universities. Thanks for the pro tips too.

    The instruction is really great but Cory you need a new videographer. He/she doesn’t do justice to your level of expertise. The video is zoomed in on you and what you’re saying, and you can hardly see what the other guy’s doing. A full body shot would be great.

    Hi I got tennis elbow and it’s taking forever to heal. I head that doing these kettlebell swings helps heal faster. Do you recommend this movement for treating tennis elbow?

    I never do two arm swings with such a small kettlebell. I can’t justify the $ for one of the 48kg bells so have my own adjustable T-bar kettlebell made plumbing pipe and 10 pound weights with 1” holes. The center pope is long enough to load 12 plates so it naturally puts it farther away from your body.. I don’t see that as an issue as long as you use good form.

    The so called "t-rex hands" as shown here aren't the best technique either...just saying. For reference ask Dan John.

    I don’t see the problem with engaging your lower back.. as long as your form is good and your not causing pain

    I did crossfit some after high-school and this was useful because we didn't always do overhead, but they almost always used the squat. The way you explained it helped me see there are probably better ways to get my squats in.

    What do you mean when you say the closer it gets toward the knees the more it will hurt your lower back? I don't understand, isn't it supposed to be swinging between the knees??

    Your demo guy is using too much of his arms in the swing. The idea is to use the hip hinge to move the kettlebell, not your arms.
