Wrath of the Lich King is definitely my favourite expansion, and the one that I've invested most of my time into by far. Even though, now I haven't returned for Blizzard's WotLK classic, I still want to create some videos around it.
Everything with this expansion clicked for me perfectly - the lore, the setting, Northrend, PvE and PvP, how the classes felt, the questing and levelling... Just... chef's kiss. Brilliant.
So, in its honour, it's only fair to put out some content here and there and I do hope you enjoy them! :)

My favorite part is where Blizzard put in the time, work, and effort to reference when Captain Grim wrote that one scene where he goes “It’s Jailin’ time” and he jailed all over the place in canon

Didn't play shadowlands, i legit don't know his canon voice. Grim's version is the canon one for me lol.

Until the very end where he was like "I was only trying to kill you all because that's better than-" and then he died on a cliffhanger.

I want this to just become a meme, literally everything that EVER happened in all of Warcraft history was the Jailer's master plan. The death of Johnny Awesome's sparkle horse? *The Jailer.* Dragonflight? You bet your ass that's The Jailer after teaming up with the Infinite Dragonflight to time travel to the future.
i really love Captain Grim's jailer character, his running joke of all being part of his master plan shows way more consistency than the real jailer.

You know its true because the Maw has a lot of sh*t quests and events.
Of course, it all adds up! Digging through shit, getting a dog to shit, shitting out the seeds, the Jailer's plan is shit, it makes perfect sense!
Sadly it's just a confusion about "I planned this" in contrast to "I got dealt this hand so I will play whatever fortune comes with it". And people just took the first idea and went to town. DOesn't make the Jailer good... but most people laugh because they diden't unserstand this, which kinda looks dumb, too.
They're the only parts of his plans, that's why he's so shit.

I’ve never played WoW but I’ve learned enough to understand most of Grimm’s videos and I always end up with two questions. The first thing “Are WoW players really that ruthless to each other?” And “Boy, it seems like a really bad game in which to be a healer.” And I say that as one who mains a White Mage and Scholar/Summoner in FF14 and was once a white mage and Paladin in FF11.

I remember being a tank class just taking some mobs away from the party, and the party didn’t bother working as a party to take the mobs out; they were too busy text chatting to each other as they ran along the nice open path I made. I hit zero HP pretty fast, and had to run past the mobs again to catch up to the boss. Not much of a team, that PUG group.

You know, back when I played WoW, I actually stumbled over that Timelost Proto-Drake by accident when I was flying around trying to do some missed quests. I thought it was a part of that achievement to kill rare mobs in Northrend so I managed to get its attention in mid air before landing. But a mage swooped in, dismounted in mid air and hit it with an Ice Lance aggroing it before I could hit it. After the mob was killed, he just looted it and said "Thanks", blew me a kiss and left. After that I saw him each day (for almost two weeks) mounted on that drake in the middle of Dalaran.
Well that's at least sort of wholesome, at least he used it right?
@@Ocyla Oh, it didn't bother me. I didn't knew at the time and I didn't care since I was really stoked on Netherdragon mounts. I will admit that 3 people in my guild freaked out when I told them I almost had it.
I just remember him just sitting in the Dalaran well, mounted, and really jealous people HATED him. Some players would just /spit or /rude him or throw that shrinking spice at him.
That schizo undead voiceover was pure talent.
I can actually imagine undead being that crazy lorewise, so made perfect sense he was one.

the orcs reaction to seeing a saronite deposit was spot on.
Kel’Thuzad appearing out of nowhere to also come point and laugh at raiders was top quality simple humour. Loved it.
And the studio audience cheering for the Jailer reappearance was appropriate. Felt the same way. Your Jailer is the best.

WoW players come in one of two forms. We’re either destructive monsters that cause Sargeras to quiver in fear, or pants-on-head imbeciles that make Team Rocket look extremely competent.
Interesting analysis, particularly as I’ve never played WoW and am looking in from the outside from FF14 and it’s predecessor FF11. And I sometimes wonder whether people with certain natures are called to different MMOs, or if the design of the game dictates what kind player people become. I mean FF11 was cooperative to the extreme. After about lvl 10 it became just about impossible to get anything done solo and for most of my time the lvl cap was lvl 75 that took months to get to and two expansions with a third halfway through my era and a fourth not long beg I left. But what I know of WoW makes it seem like the difficulty, the RNG, competition for mobs with valuable drops, the punishing costs and hardships for failing in group content and the factions fostered a hostile player bas.
What do you think? FF11 had some of the same punishing and random features but compensated for it by making everyone dependent upon others to do anything. Unless you were a Beastmaster-they we’re designed for solo play and I do wonder how it worked for the lvl capped areas and group bosses in the main story quests.
And 25m Heroic Lich King lasted 94 minutes with 50/50 attempts remaining.

Many people in private servers are toxic, very much like boomers in game. Old is gold. This is how we did it. This is the right way....and stuff....

When you realize the birth of Dragon Aspects, every single great war, Nefarian and Onyxia's politics, all the time travel shenanigans, "discovery" of Pandaland, All the corruption and betrayals, literally everything that has ever happened on Azeroth and beyond, was ALL part of the greatest master plan of The Jailer..... 😱😱😨😨🤪🤪

As someone who played the original vanilla content, seeing this is just as hilarious as back then, and it still rings true lol.
When you make the Dragonflight launch experience video i fully expect a rave party aboard the Horde ship with random players falling off into the water due to lag... And even more stuck on in Durotar trying to cross but gets teleported (or disconnected) to the graveyard instead.

Seriously, Mining is no joke. You think that Saronite veins are bad? Just imagine when you see a Titanium vein. Dismount and rush it as fast as you can and prey that you don't get jumped by half the server. Players around that vein go in a piranha feeding frenzy to get it. It is a 50/50 chance that you survive long enough to get that blasted ore. The Air traffic above the locations where those veins spawn is more crowded than the one in Real life...

My thanks for explaining it. I never played WoW but taught myself enough to understand most of what Grimm portrays. But the nostalgia must be so powerful if you were there for all the years since launch.

The scene about 2 minutes and 30 seconds really spoke to me on a personal level when it reminded me of how I felt when I discovered the Sanctuary of Zi’Tag in FF11.

Dude the part where you leave DEHTA and then proceed to slaughter every animal in Sholazar was always funny to me. I always thought that you should have to choose a faction like the Oracles and Frenzyheart clans.
Great video, definitely captured a lot of the original Wotlk release! Wotlk classic has been a lot different unfortunately, and not in a good way.
