Your paper/notebook reviews are always top-tier in quality and utility. Very worthwhile watching.
The standout features I like about the notebook you reviewed are its size dimensions and the wider spaced ruling on the page. Both appeal to me much. Alas, the apparent bleed-through is an instant let-down. For the price, it is maybe a deal-breaker for me.
I have had only one Kokuyo notebook so far. The one you showed here looks just great in every way, except the narrow spacing between lines. I always prefer it a little wider than that. But I’d be keen to buy an identical one in A4/ruled. The price is alright, all things considered.

Thank you Sajjad! I agree that the bleed through is a problem. The Kokuyo books are great. I too would prefer more generous line spacing on an A4 notebook.

If bosses would listen to "great" suggestions (from me), these would be perfect for my work place. They look more "composition" than ledgers because they lack additional columns but they look great!. I have paper and notebooks from the 1940s (the vintage look suggested by the page numbers) and it's incredibly fountain pen friendly but they only used fine nibs back then. These notebooks look perfect for a "house/home" year journal, with lists, budget and other scribbles. Great choice!

I don't know why this one is called a ledger. Perhaps it's the size? It's the only one with numbered pages but that doesn't qualify it as a ledger. For the Kokuyo "ledger" books, the ruled one is called an Auxiliary book which makes sense.

Thanks for comparing notebooks at similar prices.

What an interesting notebook. Unique size, but not the most travel friendly. Meant for one-location use I suppose. I wonder what audience they had in mind when making this? Thanks, Blake!

Good question. I do not know. Kokuyo makes old-school ledger books with all the proper columns so their equivalent notebook makes a bit more sense in the lineup where this Bindewerk one seems to be on it's own.

"This is $45" ... but it's no longer made. Well, that's unfortunate. For just a minute there I had my heart set on an A4-sized Kokuyo notebook. Fortunately my heart is easily reset.

      Hi James,
The A5 size has been discontinued. The A4 size is still available. They just sold out a bit quicker than expected. More are on order.

Hey! I was at a bookstore recently. I came across journals that had paper somehow made with some kind of actual stone compound. Have you ever come across this? If so, is it any good?

Yes, I did a review of Stonit paper and I do not recommend it. I do not think it is safe for fountain pens. th-cam.com/video/gpnaS5ZT4ls/w-d-xo.html
