Why is Naughty Dog so hesitant to make it happen? Insomniac had no problem continuing Ratchet and Clank and the only appearances Jak has made on the PS3 were the HD ports and the All Stars Games, which in all honesty isn't that great. Jak needs to come back because the series has a lot of potential for a reboot. I'd love to come home after a long day and boot up Jak VI on my PS4 someday, because I'm getting tired of all these repetitive shooters.

Uncharted Racing Game? C'mon... it could totally work! Drake gets pulled into an underground thieving racing circuit. Besides, we all know what they'll call it... UnKarted. Imagine the tracks! Racing through golden aztec ruins. Charging through the hull of a sinking ocean liner. Even a perilous race in the sky, where you're racing on top of wings falling from blown up airplanes.

Jak and Daxter is my Playstation Love and attraction to the console. I love that they were thinking of the series but if they're going to change the total setting of the game, i would rather just have the memories of one of the best series of all time.
A new game could definitely be possible. We could play as mar, and learn what's up with that or like before jak 1 with Samos and the other sages. Also it could take place after jak 3 (let's face it the lost frontier shouldn't really be associated with the main story) and he slowly regains his memories as mar

I would like to see Jak 4 in a snowy setup. The only snow level was snowy mountain and i loved it. ND should stay with the cartoon style, just more details, bigger world and 60 fps. About the story, well maybe they could explain the darkmakers thing and give us a reason to leave Haven City.

While in the past, Samos gives Jak his name in order to hide the truth that Jak is Mar, and a member of royalty. It's like in Chrono Trigger where Princess Nadia says her name is Marle. It's not the greatest of disguises, but it apparently works. Eventually, some time after Jak 3, Jak time-hopped back to the past. Taking matters into his own hands to become a hero and the founder of Haven City. In this time-hop Jak uses his original name of Mar so no one can connect that Jak is Mar. Jak also scattered the armor during this time that Jak eventually finds in Jak 3. Time travel. The more you think about it, the more it makes your head hurt.

Honestly, I really doubt Jak 4 will be made. Why? Because Naughty Dog is now spending almost all of their time and resources focusing on AAA mainstream titles. Basically, they're focusing all of their effort on either Uncharted or The Last Of Us, which is sort of interesting, considering that if they were to split into two teams, they would be potentially working on both another original game of the magnitude of The Last Of Us and the next Uncharted at the same time. Maybe then they could focus some effort on a Jak revival, but I think we know from experiences with Square Enix, that too working on too many projects at once causes them to take too long to develop, and thus, causes an over-hyped, ambitious project, but with little payoff. Seriously, how much of Final Fantasy XIII do you think suffered from a decadence of authorial perspective over time? Many players of their modern games don't even know that they are the same company that made the Crash Bandicoot series, and there are many that don't even know the Jak and Daxter franchise exists/ever existed, apart from maybe seeing it once or twice on the shelf at Gamestop. The gaming community of today would flip their lids over the idea of a green-haired teenage elf-creature in an electric blue tunic with a gun that is powered by green energy, travels time, and ends up with a T rating. Naughty Dog has crossed over to the dark side, but they're not coming back from this one. Give them 10 years, and they'll be the next Activision. So I'm a skeptic...

I'm really glad they decided not to go with that "reboot" early concept of Jak and Daxter. Being a big fan of the franchise, had they gone in that direction of high end game design, I would've been let down as hell. Jak and Daxter has that type of simple charm and complex story that everybody misses. The cartoon art style is WHY i love the game. They shouldn't force it to fit what they've been doing as of late. If they don't keep the integrity of what Jak 1, 2, and 3 established; then Naughty Dawg should just leave Jax and Daxter where it belongs. Back in the the early 2000's.
I have the Art of Naughty Dog book and all the Jak 4 concept art is in the back. I was pleasantly surprised by some of the ideas Naughty Dog had. They re-designed Jak and Daxter to looks more realistic but ultimately decided it didn't look right. They also found it hard to continue the story after Jak X (They didn't count The Lost Frontier) so they scrapped it. I really don't think Jak 4 will happen but we can always hope.
i like cartoony stuff like splatoon rachet and clank kinda sunset over drive oddworld sure you can take it as an insult but i like the bubbly colorful open world setting and it it has stupid fall down or bonk in the head jokes its cartoony. doesnt mean its bad though itd nice to see bob rafei work on a cartoon tho
TRISTAN FORRESTER ME! According to the research I did, Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier was originally going to be Jak 4. It was unfinished so Naughty Dog handed the project to High Impact while they were working on Uncharted. So, technically the title of the video should be Jak and Daxter 5.

as a long time fan of this series i'd be very excited if a new game were to be made. unfortunately naughty dog sold the rights to this series after jak 3 and haven't bought it back as far as i'm aware. i think it's about time naughty dog stop with trying to make overly serious and somewhat tasteless games and create a spiritual successor to the jak legacy; it's about time we have some more fun and enjoyable games on the ps4.

I really want a side game about how after they went into the future, another problem happens and a new hero has to take jak and daxters place as heroes.
Many don't know but Jak 4 was in development after UC1. They didn't have much faith in UC1 so they started work on Jak 4. They stopped work when UC1 sold higher than they expected. Then UC2 was in development and they went back to Jak 4 to try and bring it to life. The concept art we were shown was what was in the works before we knew what TLOU was.
dude they should make jakanddaxter 4 and call it jakanddaxters return, it should base on what happened after jak 3, jak x and lost frontier doesnt even match jak 1 jak 2 and jak 3 story, neither daxter. So jakanddaxter 4 should come out and it should be like jak 2 and jak 3, but it should have a good story about what happened after jak 3. The adventure should continue.
I dont own a PS4, but i would definitely love to see them back. Just like how Rare is bringing back Banjo Kazooie, except it isn but an entirely new duo. I would die if they brought the series back. There's absolutely no chance it the game coming back, though. The development team that was going to work on the new Jak and Daxter game eventually ended up changing too many things and they felt like they wouldn't be true to the original fans if they were to continue making a new game for the franchise. The team then decided to work on a new IP which became The Last of Us.
I remember when they showed off all the concept art for Jak 4. Had big hopes they would release, but unfortunately nothing happened. If they did release a Jak 4 game I would have bought a PS3 just for that game. I loved all three Jak & Daxter games that Naughty Dog came out with, never played the other's games(even the racing game made by Naughty Dog), just didn't feel like Jak & Daxter to me. If they are secretly making a Jak 4, continuing from Jak 3 on the PS4 I'll be so excited. As I just here recently finally dropped the cash to get a PS4 so I can play Fallout 4. Getting Jak 4 would make me so happy.
+Zionboy17 I do think you should give Jak X a try. While "Daxter" is filler between Jak 1 and Jak 2 to most people, Jak X does do some plot stuff beyond Jak 3. While it's not on the earth-shattering scale of Jak 3, it does take place canonically after it as characters do reference events of 3 and Spargus is visited in some races. Also, Jak finally kisses someone on camera so that makes it worth it. Also, they make fun of the GTA Hot Coffee thing.

If I were to reboot the series, I'd try to make it as funny as Last of Us was scary. Maybe I'd approach it as a stoner comedy starring Seth Rogen as Jak and James Franco as Daxter, where high jinks ensue when they get high on Dark Eco or something.

if they want to do a reboot with a new art stile then why not just pull a New 'N' Tasty? take the first game and just make it. use the same plot same mechanics just retool the art and add a fifth location where the yellow sage should have been too because recently I played through the first game, finished it Friday night, and the green guy said something along the lines of "we need to go north to the yellow sage's area" but the next location was the citadel. also the more power cells you have the better the heat resistance the zoomer should have had. tho if they did pull a New 'N' Tasty then it might end up as a DLC game instead of a disk game.

True Pride Yeah becuasae since the original audience enjoyed Jak and Daxter The Precursor Legacy. They decided that since that audience was growing they want jak and daxter to adapt to that age group without ruining the J and D formula
im coming 20 in a few weeks, if a new jak game came out i would still buy it, jak and daxter have been my favourite video characters and has been my all time top video game series ever, it was my childhood, and i would love to see them in a new adventure, made by naughty dog, cause the lost frontier was a huge disappointment

I would like to see Jak 4 in a snowy setup. The only snow level was snowy mountain and i loved it. ND should stay with the cartoon style, just more details, bigger world and 60 fps. About the story, well maybe they could explain the darkmakers thing and give us a reason to leave Haven City.

Raymanspy95 No, no. Jak's father is King Damas, as we see in Jak 3. King Damas gets thrown out of Haven City by Baron Praxis, while Samos takes young Jak to the past through the Precursor warp gate.
While in the past, Samos gives Jak his name in order to hide the truth that Jak is Mar, and a member of royalty. It's like in Chrono Trigger where Princess Nadia says her name is Marle. It's not the greatest of disguises, but it apparently works.
Eventually, some time after Jak 3, Jak time-hopped back to the past. Taking matters into his own hands to become a hero and the founder of Haven City. In this time-hop Jak uses his original name of Mar so no one can connect that Jak is Mar. Jak also scattered the armor during this time that Jak eventually finds in Jak 3.

At this point,I think that I would prefer a Jak & Daxter Reboot rather than some kind of mediocre sequel (like happened with Sly Cooper 4).
Honestly, I really doubt Jak 4 will be made. Why? Because Naughty Dog is now spending almost all of their time and resources focusing on AAA mainstream titles. Basically, they're focusing all of their effort on either Uncharted or The Last Of Us, which is sort of interesting, considering that if they were to split into two teams, they would be potentially working on both another original game of the magnitude of The Last Of Us and the next Uncharted at the same time. Maybe then they could focus some effort on a Jak revival, but I think we know from experiences with Square Enix, that too working on too many projects at once causes them to take too long to develop, and thus, causes an over-hyped, ambitious project, but with little payoff. Seriously, how much of Final Fantasy XIII do you think suffered from a decadence of authorial perspective over time?
Many players of their modern games don't even know that they are the same company that made the Crash Bandicoot series, and there are many that don't even know the Jak and Daxter franchise exists/ever existed, apart from maybe seeing it once or twice on the shelf at Gamestop. The gaming community of today would flip their lids over the idea of a green-haired teenage elf-creature in an electric blue tunic with a gun that is powered by green energy, travels time, and ends up with a T rating. Naughty Dog has crossed over to the dark side, but they're not coming back from this one. Give them 10 years, and they'll be the next Activision.

Being a big fan of the franchise, had they gone in that direction of high end game design, I would've been let down as hell.
Jak and Daxter has that type of simple charm and complex story that everybody misses. The cartoon art style is WHY i love the game. They shouldn't force it to fit what they've been doing as of late.
If they don't keep the integrity of what Jak 1, 2, and 3 established; then Naughty Dawg should just leave Jax and Daxter where it belongs. Back in the the early 2000's.
I have the Art of Naughty Dog book and all the Jak 4 concept art is in the back. I was pleasantly surprised by some of the ideas Naughty Dog had. They re-designed Jak and Daxter to looks more realistic but ultimately decided it didn't look right. They also found it hard to continue the story after Jak X (They didn't count The Lost Frontier) so they scrapped it. I really don't think Jak 4 will happen but we can always hope.

TRISTAN FORRESTER ME! According to the research I did, Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier was originally going to be Jak 4. It was unfinished so Naughty Dog handed the project to High Impact while they were working on Uncharted. So, technically the title of the video should be Jak and Daxter 5.

as a long time fan of this series i'd be very excited if a new game were to be made. unfortunately naughty dog sold the rights to this series after jak 3 and haven't bought it back as far as i'm aware. i think it's about time naughty dog stop with trying to make overly serious and somewhat tasteless games and create a spiritual successor to the jak legacy; it's about time we have some more fun and enjoyable games on the ps4.

Many don't know but Jak 4 was in development after UC1. They didn't have much faith in UC1 so they started work on Jak 4. They stopped work when UC1 sold higher than they expected. Then UC2 was in development and they went back to Jak 4 to try and bring it to life. The concept art we were shown was what was in the works before we knew what TLOU was.

I would die if they brought the series back. There's absolutely no chance it the game coming back, though. The development team that was going to work on the new Jak and Daxter game eventually ended up changing too many things and they felt like they wouldn't be true to the original fans if they were to continue making a new game for the franchise. The team then decided to work on a new IP which became The Last of Us.

I remember when they showed off all the concept art for Jak 4. Had big hopes they would release, but unfortunately nothing happened. If they did release a Jak 4 game I would have bought a PS3 just for that game. I loved all three Jak & Daxter games that Naughty Dog came out with, never played the other's games(even the racing game made by Naughty Dog), just didn't feel like Jak & Daxter to me.
If they are secretly making a Jak 4, continuing from Jak 3 on the PS4 I'll be so excited. As I just here recently finally dropped the cash to get a PS4 so I can play Fallout 4. Getting Jak 4 would make me so happy.
+Zionboy17 I do think you should give Jak X a try. While "Daxter" is filler between Jak 1 and Jak 2 to most people, Jak X does do some plot stuff beyond Jak 3. While it's not on the earth-shattering scale of Jak 3, it does take place canonically after it as characters do reference events of 3 and Spargus is visited in some races.
Also, Jak finally kisses someone on camera so that makes it worth it. Also, they make fun of the GTA Hot Coffee thing.

Carl Bloke I believe they said in an interview at some point that they haven't given up on making a Jak 4, just that The Last of Us and Uncharted took precedence as Naughty Dog tend to focus on one title at a time for quality.

if they want to do a reboot with a new art stile then why not just pull a New 'N' Tasty? take the first game and just make it. use the same plot same mechanics just retool the art and add a fifth location where the yellow sage should have been too because recently I played through the first game, finished it Friday night, and the green guy said something along the lines of "we need to go north to the yellow sage's area" but the next location was the citadel.
also the more power cells you have the better the heat resistance the zoomer should have had.

Can I tell you about the ultima weapon every time I look at it I think of kingdom hearts because most of the ultima weapons have a crown on top of the heart
