    Very attractive! Your panels fit everything in the description beginning at 1:25 except "expensive." They make for an inviting, soothing to the eye background while doing nothing in the way of being a distraction. A Job Well Done, indeed.

    Alternative to LiquidNails would be a dot of Hot Glue on the frame, while the glue is soft depress the Strip in. Very helpful near corners. I’ve wrapped the inside of a Drum shell with 15’. I also wrapped the contour of an acoustic guitar for a window display and hot glue was the only thing to hold the LED Tape in place. Nice job and great ideas you’ve shared.

    Oh wow. I am totally gonna steal this idea for my daughters room. Gonna make one just not as big. Maybe 4×4 and figure out a way to control it like with a remote. Thanks for the video.

    An alternative for Liquid Nails would be superglue. Stick your LED tape fully to the inside first, then go around and just add a drop every few inches by putting the applicator tip right at the edge of the tape. The liquid will pull under the tape and spread out a little, making a fast easy bond. A lot less messy than construction adhesive, too! (well.. if you're careful)
    I know these things are light (hehe), but I don't recommend zip ties. They're probably strong enough now, but they get brittle over time. A simple screw eye is much better, and you can get a lot of them for a few dollars. (Use pliers to open the 'eye' just enough to slip the chain in. Then paint them black, since the pliers will scrape paint off.)

    Your ideas and videos are excellent. Thank you for helping others so effectively. But please remember that many churches are much smaller than yours and do not have all those resources. This project could have been simplified if you chose a frame that would be exactly 16 feet in "length" (like a 5'x3') to save money and effort on the led strips. Plus, these LED strips usually come with a remote that could be used to control color and some color-changing effects withOUT having to buy the DMX converters and using DMX controllers. Anyone with a thumb could make the panels change colors, which might be fine for some small churches.

    Hey thanks for the great set design idea. Was thinking of running this set design for our next series. Question on the decoders. Do we need to get one for each box or can we do it in groups? Like for example we were thinking of maybe putting three on our back wall so maybe we could some how attach all three on the led strips together for the back wall and maybe hanging 1 on each side of the truss to give it a 3d look. They would probably have their own led strip.

    You should have just used a 27 channel decoder. Probably spend a lot more on individual decoders for each panel and the extra dmx cables. Also not sure if you did this but have a connector on each panel so you can unplug them without screwing the wire from the decoder or cutting the wire.
    Very nice though!

    I really see God's presence on that techno stage...

    • @Makfly79
      @Makfly79 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That is no techno stage. I was a techno DJ many years ago, and this is not even close to it. Add some near naked women, a wall of speakers, and thousands of dollars of lighting, and maybe you would be right. The only thing in common is there being a stage, and lighting. There would have to be techno music to be a techno stage. Do you call a heavy metal concert a techno stage too? How about country, and western? Every single stage on the planet uses modern technology. I suppose you want them with lanterns XD. If you do not like it, stick with your church hyms from the 1800's, and see how many young people you get to go to church. I used to fall asleep in church when I was young. You have to keep up with current times, and we happen to be on to LED lighting over candle light this day in age. I havn't found scripture against stage lighting yet.....

      I could be wrong for thinking like this. To me it shouldn't be about grabbing youth attention. Yeah we should try to keep people in church. But shouldnt your love for God to serve him be enough? Desire to pray, to read scripture, to fast be enough for you not fall asleep? There is a problem with the body of Christ today. In Acts 2:41 Peter gave word from the Spirit of God& 3000 converted. Obvi bible doesn't mention any bands of worship and fancy stuff(i know I cant compare modern tech to a time that any exist remotely close). But all he needed to win the hearts of people was the Spirit of God.(im not against music to God I play guitar@my church. We take from David example of worshipping with dance, literature, instruments) I hope you dont see me singling you out for I too am the problem for claiming to be of Christ yet i am dead spiritually. There is just such a focus on worship. When was the last time a whole Sunday sermon was in just straight prayer and fasting? We take prayer from what Christ taught to his disciples. Fasting cuz Chrsit did it 40 days&nights, Apostle Paul too in the desert, in the old testa too with the book of Daniel for discernment of dreams. Worship aint wrong, is that do we really need dark ambient, lights and smoke to feel God's connection? Not saying that the Apostles didnt do that who knows only God. I hope this is recieved in light may God's will be done in our lives Amen.

    Not sure if anyone asked but what do you do for extra light strip areas? Let’s say you need 20ft and you have a 30ft light strip… how do you black that area out and/or attach it to wood?

    • @WorshipLeaderHangout
      @WorshipLeaderHangout  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the LED tape you can get on Amazon will have an area on them about every 2 to 3 inches apart that can be cut. Therefore you can cut your LED tape to the ‘exact’ size you need. I use gorilla glue to attach them to wood.

    • @bretthays2674

      For that you would need WS2811 or similar rob led strip and a dmx to pixelnet decoder. Still very doable and inexpensive but a bit more complicated; both on the construction and programming sides. I would suggest a dmx box with built in patterns that you could call up from a single dmx channel.

    Check your local fire / safety regulations. Use of zip ties and single break devices (ie: chain) might not be permissible for suspended items over/near people. You might need to switch to steel wire, which also comes in black.

    • @WorshipLeaderHangout
      @WorshipLeaderHangout  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not sure it’s possible to only use 3 wires because you need one wire dedicated as power. I was using the 4 wire DMX simply as extension wire not used as dmx. I might test this out and get back to you. Good question.

    • @rommelwalohan5730
      @rommelwalohan5730 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the response. I think I just need to buy 4 pin extension wire for RGB strip. This will go fine regardless if were using 3 wires DMX cable since the 4 wire will just be used as extension. Right? Sorry, I'm a newbie with this lights thing. 😅

    • @jamessitton526

      If only 3 wires then you not be able to hookup all 3 colors.

    • @prof1811
      @prof1811 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know its a little late, but don't use DMX cable for extending "power" wires. These cables are designed to transmit signals. They might get hot and loose a lot of power over distance resulting in dimmer LEDs an other risks.

      You can use a multi channel decoder for the the strips. For example a 4 channel decoder will support 4 led strips. Thanks for watching!

      @@WorshipLeaderHangout so just to be clear, the decoder you used in the video can support 4 led strips

      No the one we used only supports one strip technically. However, because I had to use two strips each panel, I plugged two strips into the same single channel decoder slots. The power source can handle powering two strips at least in our situation.

    Question! at minute 10:01 how did you connect it the dmx cable to the led tape? can you show the process to it or link a video?

      Looks like he used simple automotive butt connectors. They are easy to use. Insert wire and crimp with pliers. I might have spliced the wires or used a male/female connector with the rubber covering to let me pull it apart as needed to move or rearrange the panels.

    I see you have a 24 channel DMX decoder listed in the description. Where/how did you use that in this design?

    • @WorshipLeaderHangout
      @WorshipLeaderHangout  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t. I’m playing with one for a new design later this year. Also, people were asking if they could use one instead of the single channel. Thanks for watching.

      Worship Leader Hangout Thanks for the reply. Second question, what do you do with the left over led tape? So once you go all the way around, do you just cut the tape?

    • @WorshipLeaderHangout
      @WorshipLeaderHangout  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, we cut it on the designated cut line and use it for something else like behind a screen at the sound booth or smaller fixtures for the stage.

    How fun, wonder what Jesus would think about all the fancy stage props. I'm guessing He is really impressed.

    So maybe I'm missing something, but every time I connect my 2nd panel that panel flickers. Any ideas? I can swap the initial panel and the 2nd one and the same issue happens each time.
