Thank you for this great video...I have a problem if you can help me I will be grateful to you...How I can assign the Cubase pro click on/off and click volume control to a qcon prox...!?
I, first of all many thanks for all your videos. I have a question for you. I use Cubase Pro 11 and I have the Icon QConProX. Normally I don´t touch the master of the provect and I use The cue VST fader in the control room to manage the volumen of the monitors or the balance from the direct inputs of mu RME and the Cubase...Can I asing the Master fader of the IQcon with the Cue VST Fader? How? Many thanks in advance... Best regards fro Spain
Master meter doesn’t work for me on Cubase 11. Also, the transport wheel does not adjust to zoom, despite settings in Cubase. Personally, these units are not as good as the hype all the reviewers are giving them. Many irritations that should have been ironed out by now.
Does this control surface have just as good control of cubase and integration as the Steinberg CC121? which controller controls cubase the best, Qcon pro or CC121? which has the deepest integration?
Thank you for a great tutorials! I am using Qcon Pro g2 and I can not get it to control the parameters of my VST instruments open in Kontakt, such as modulation, vibrato (breath) ... etc... which is basically what I aim to use it for... can you please help us your fellow composers with this issue? I am using it with CUBASE 10. many thanks in advance :)
Hello , can you program the function buttons to do basic editing functions,,, like: in points, out points, select, copy, paste, delete? I never saw a daw controller do it on youtube,,, it would be so practical,,,, Thank you for your input!
Hello Jay, We have made a few demonstration videos with the QCOn Pro X interfacing wth Pro Tools. Check out the links below: General overview protools: th-cam.com/video/bm4fxELf0SU/w-d-xo.html automation in Pro Tools: th-cam.com/video/5NmhUMfyv0U/w-d-xo.html Kevin, iCON Support
Hey, nice video. I noticed that you didn't have to draw any automation points and the fader still popped back to its original starting point when you played the audio back. Does the Qcon automatically insert the points? Having to do it manually is the main reason I stopped using cubase shortly after buying & trying it out.
How does this measure up against the CC121 which we know you love? I know it's only one fader, but you've got to admit besides that it has much less control.
Please help! I can no longer for some reason control my plugins via my g2 all I get when I hit the plug-in button is “midi 1” “midi 2” on each channel etc, I’m using logic I’m at a dead end with a solution and icons customer service is none existent!
I see QCon Pro X can control all eight Fx-sends of the selected channel at a time but, has the option to control one Fx-send of eight channels at a time? (e.g. to adjust the same reverb fx of eight drum tracks at a time). Thanks in advance
Is there a way to call up the plug-in you're working with from the Qcon? I know you can do it upon instantiating a new plug-in, but hoping there's a button press to open the currently selected plug-in without using the mouse. Thank you
How is the ableton scripting/integration for them? is it as buggy and half-assed as the platform m? if they got the scripts right I would buy but seem like they dont care so much for ableton users even though they advertise it as compatible
Hey there , how is it with Logic Pro X ? i have been hearing alot of bad reviews on it ..expecially on MAC OS . i could not find any video online . kindly let me know
Hello Deyomusic, Logic Pro X works amazing with QCon Pro X! In the past, the problem that users were running into was a connectivity interference. When a customer purchases their “MIDI control surface” the first thing they would do is upgrade their firmware. After upgrading, you must clear out any old iCON devices in the “Audio Midi Setup”. The procedure is listed below: 1. Power off DAW. 2. Power off Q Con Pro X. 3. Clear out any Icon devices in your “ Audio Midi Setup”. 4. Power on Q Con Pro X. 5. Power on DAW After you finish the procedure, the QCon Pro X is solid! You will not have any issues thereafter. If the following procedure is not completed, then the user will lose connectivity randomly between DAW and MIDI controller. Kevin, iCON Support
How you getting on with this control surface. I've just bought one a week ago for Logic Pro X. Encoders seem to only to go up in increments of 2 e.g. 2,4 6,8 etc. Not much good if your trying to assign inputs, sends, busses for 1, 3, 5, etc. It's the same when trying to control plug ins it jumps missing out soft controls. Faders aren't too accurate either even after calibrating I'm using V1.09 firmware. Well built piece of gear but I feel like i'm beta testing, I don't think it's ready for market yet You had any similar probs?
liquidvic Are you still having problems in logic x. I have this unit on order but im seriously considering cancelling my order. What problems are you still having?
I sent mine back for a full refund Rodney, the concept was great, the build quality was really very good too but whether it was the software or something else causing problems I couldn't say. It may be better now, but when I had the Con Pro X they still didn't have the software available for Mac's so you could custom map the keys. I don't have the time to be sorting out problems for a unit that should just work. I'd give it a go if you've ordered it, it may be fine now. If not send it back. Let me know how you get on though would you.
liquidvic I got my unit yesterday and first off its built very solid. I had to update the firmware on a pc since they haven't got the mac firmware available, which I found a real pain since I had to use a friend's laptop. The faders seem to be quirky at first until you start using them more but if you stop for little while they start to get quirky again until you start using them again. I don't like that and overtime it may start to wear the motors out. The quirky feel of the faders is like you have to apply pressure slightly to make them move. This can't be good on the motors. The LED's are not accurate in Logic X and are very slow. They look great but are virtually unusable for monitoring levels and this is after the update. Sometimes the LED's get stuck and I have to power down and then back on to correct. The master LED's don't work but thats an issue the Mackie protocol. The automation is flawless and works perfectly. The transport functions good. The eq section isn't very detailed and I'm better off the mouse. Its setup for logic out the box but they have a Cubase overlay on the panel but it can be switch out with a special tool... what were they thinking? Also the faders only count up the 8 and no higher. So if you have channel 9 selected it will be labeled 1 on the icon, but it will control alll the channels of your session but im not sure if this an issue with the controller yet. Overall I will probably be sending it back. it's not worth the price tag at the moment. It should just work for the price. The LED'S not working properly is a deal breaker for me. But icon is on to something with this unit. If they work out the kinks this unit came be a real game changer. For now, I'll be better off purchasing the Console 1 channel strip by softube and the faderport by prosonus.
I agree Rodney, it really could have been a great little console, and it still could be in the future, but it isn't at the moment and I needs are in the present not the future. Thanks for getting back to me with your findings.
Hi man..thanks for this great video, I want to buy only the Icon Qcon Pro G2 One Question: The Icon has 8 Faders (chanels) what can I do when I want do use in my Daw the Chanel 9-16 Chanel... Hey Keith, The master fader is not working in Pro Tools with the QCon Pro X. Pro tools uses the HUI protocol. The AVID script does not send out any information to the HUI protocol that will allow the master fader or master fader meter to work. There is nothing physically wrong with the iCON control surfaces. Some DAWS like Bitwig worked along with iCON to write a custom script that allows better integration between the MIDI control surface and DAW. Hence, the reason why the master fader and master fader LED works in Bitwig. Other manufacturers, however, only provided default (basic) functionality. We were not as fortunate to have that same level of cooperation with other DAW manufacturers. We reached out to them, but it is their choice whether or not to develop closer integration with any given device. Kevin, iCON Support

Hello ALEX, We do apologized for your frustration. We feel the same. Unfortunately, meters are DAW specific. The QCon Pro X is as professional as it comes. Maybe a better explanation about why the “Master fader LED meter” is not working could be more helpful to you. When your DAW interfaces with the Qcon Pro X and you don’t get a signal indicator through the “Master fader LED meter”, that does not mean that your “Master fader” will not work when you need to attenuate or boost the signal being processed in your DAW, or that the Qcon Pro X is damaged. What this means is that the DAW (i.e. Logic, Reason, Pro Tools) is not sending out any information to those meters. Some DAWS like Bitwig worked along with iCON to write a custom script that allows better integration between the iCON control surfaces and DAW.
