This song just popped into my head as I was remembering the days of being in my middle school concert band. I'm glad I found this, brings back tons of memories.
I played this back in 1997, on French Horn, for NYSSMA with my Middle School Concert Band. Popped Back Into My Head Today, So Searched It On TH-cam. Great job to the band. Hope they are all still playing, wherever they are.
I remember playing this in the jefferson county Prep band when they commissioned this for us. Played it at the KMEA in louisville with Mr. O'Reilly directing. I was going through an old photo book and just had to look this up. Can't believe there are that many videos of this song. Ms. Feddern was a great teacher. Kind of goofy, but she would teach at 2 or 3 elementary schools during the week and do the prep band on the weekends, Nice lady.
yeah same with mine, kinda . a few months ago when school was still in, my countys band day was in session, and we played this song(my favourite, but not my schools choice), pirates of the Caribbean, safe and sound, and defying gravity.i believe over 10 or more schools were there with a total of over 200 members! sadly last year my schools band only had 12 members, but 200 people playing Jefferson county overture, just amazing!
Noooo! My band is playing this at six flags festival and at the adagio, there is 2 trumpets, 2 clarinets, and 2 saxophones i am first chair trumpet so i have to play then like after 14 measures of that it goes to 1 trumpet and 2 clarinets why i get solo for lgpe i will totally crack
Asolutely. Clarinet huh? I was Trombone. Yes I remember Drix. I still have an empty box used to store old school work. Also Mister feddern. Also recording this at a tv studio for KET I think. Good times. Also going through some things found a small "yearbook" with the trip to nashville in it. Good times indeed Hmm I had a crush on one of the clarinet players :P
