What if you cant afford some of these products and live in a small town and do not have access to beauty stores or internet? Do you have any suggestions on products that are cheaper and more accessible? Lol sorry i know probably not, im just hoping. I screen shot the products and are going to look for stuff like them. I absolutely love your attitude and beliefs about older women. Most people think that once we hit a certain age, were dead. Older women can look beautiful and dress any way that makes them feel good. I say live fully until the day you die.
Love her eyes so much that I just ordered the Nars colors..but sadly you lost me with the darker foundation she looked too orange. There is nothing wrong with having pale skin in fact, I believe that every skin color should be embraced. Lips 👄 looked amazing. Those lashes are love!!!

There are tons of trained (and not so trained) MUAs teaching on TH-cam, but you, Mathias4Makeup, are the real deal. You are an artist, and your canvas is the human face. You made this lady look arresting, and that's a lot different than the typical result featured on TH-cam. I don't see a 60 year old face masked with layers of makeup or a look that is so minimal that it's almost transparent. In fact, the make-up simply enhances her natural coloring, various facial shapes, gorgeous blue eyes, beautiful fair skin, and an almost demure lip. Incredible work.

Lesley Hartnell Too funny. I loved the look, the products and Mathias' technique. As with anything, all techniques, colors, cosmetics etc are not for everyone. I know women in my age category who are very comfortable wearing only a lipgloss. I've been in this business of 'beauty' for years. Even having surgery on my left hip 3X and still worked in a salon, instructed in cosmetology schools and was a state cosmetology board examiner. I found the beauty industry so much fun. Sadly after my 4th total hip replacement, I knew I couldn't return to the salon or even a cosmetology school. I was by then turning 62 so I graciously , with the urging of my orthopaedic surgeon, retired. I'm still saddened by it, but life does go on. So now I'm happily blogging every Wednesday about what else???? BEAUTY and the products we use. The picture on display here was taken in July with my grey toned lipstick. Some ppl who know me said 'NO.!' While others said 'you go granny.' I may never wear my grey or black or 3x deep purple liquid lipsticks out of my house, but for me it's therapy and I love it. Where's the line that says "now that you are another decade and you have reached 70,". WHAT!!! What!! what! If I could see I'd have on the Minkiest (my word) lashes possible. you dont't need to spend a lot of money. good brushes are a must, lighter on foundation. let it set and apply another light layer of foundation with a sponge. dont need primer

I am 65 and wear subtle eyeshadow and black liner and I get compliments all the time on my skin and makeup. I also self tan my face in the winter(just a light golden colour) and wear a foundation that matches it. I use Nars concealer, Bobbi Brown stick foundation over Laura Mercia radiant primer or I mix Make up Forevers HD liquid foundation with the primer to make it illuminating.

You are amazing! It is difficult to change the way I put makeup on now that I'm 50. For a long time I was doing my makeup the same way I had always done it (like I was 30) it was not flattering. I have some beautiful nieces who are amazing with makeup but they are 20+ so when I tried to replicate their look....it was not good. Thank you for your video, you did an amazing job on her. She looks beautiful!
The black gel in the base of the lashes gave such a difference, unbelieveble! A bit dissapointed you used real mink lashes, the alternatives are just as beautiful. Great brushes btw!

$54 just for one color eyeshadow from NARS!!! (as per link provided for Amazon ) I don't know about everyone else, but I can't afford to spend several hundred dollars on makeup, and that doesn't include primers, brushes, skincare, etc.

Carol Kane - It is not necessary to spend a fortune on makeup - Scan the net for samples and bargains - I have also seen sites that compare expensive and less expensive makeup and sometimes find no difference and even a preference for the drugstore brands - I am over 60 and I did my research and found $$$ does not equal the best makeup - A lot is marketing and hype and in some cases the packaging costs more to manufacture than the product - I learned my lesson when I spent $75 for under-eye concealer that was horrible and could not be returned - Of course there are expensive cosmetics that are wonderful, but there are also$1000 dresses not many of us can afford - The secret is to get the best product you can for what you can afford

I loved what he did with the eye shadows and the gel liner, however I felt that dark of eye gel was a bit too dark/strong with her complexion, same with the orange looking foundation. It was too dark in my opinion. But I love the very gentle looking blush and beautiful lip color. I am a 61 year old lady struggling with the same issues as the model used for this demonstration with similar complexion, so I always appreciate the demonstrations and the makeup artists. Hooded eyes and my eyebrows are big issues. I don't know what to do with them. Thanks for the demonstration. I loved it.Please do more.

Mathias, this makeup you recommended came in and I have been using it all for 3 days and I LOVE!!! I feel much more beautiful, youthful and MUCH more confident!!! Plus I'm getting LOTS of compliments and plenty of positively flirty looks!!! I believe I read a comment from a woman dissing that this would take all day!!! It does NOT!!! I wrote the steps down on a piece of paper that I keep in my bathroom and tops it takes 10, maybe 15 minutes but OH, SO WORTH the HUGE confidence builder. Even my family members are looking at me in a "wow! What have you done" you look GREAT way!!! Trust me, people, if my 2 left hands can do all this and make me look fabulous then anyone can do it. Watched the vid all the way through but was disappointed not to see the model completely finished. A before and after would have been great. The vid just stops after putting on the mascara.

Fay Mel a lot of older women think gray is the "appropriate" color for eyeliner at that age, but I think gray looks like ashes and does absolutely nothing to bring out the eye color or skin tone. I think gray eyeliner or gray eyeshadow for older women is awful
I never wore eyeliner when I was young, because I thought it made a person look too hard. That can only be even more true in old age, and I wouldn't like to have to start wearing it now. Still, I've seen some young women who know how to apply it in such a way that you never notice they are wearing any eyeliner at all. So, I think the more subtle the better, and unless one is skilled, might be better to skip.
Me Andyou - I totally agree - A little liner applied sparingly can enhance a woman's eyes but this heavy-handed mink-lash, under-eye liner look screams fake, not natural - What all this hype is telling women is "There is something wrong with you so buy this product, look different and you will be okay" - It makes me laugh because George Cluny does not wear makeup in his movies and no men I know think they have to put all this junk on their face to be accepted - I agree makeup can be fun, but women have been sold a bill of goods as far as their appearance is concerned - If you change you will be better - It sells products and we keep buying them

I like what you do. But the only thing I have a problem with the lady over 60 the forehead down the nose it shows the outline of the foundation. It made be just the lighting. But the foundation is suppose to have that natural look. I use a darker foundation too. But I make sure mine is evenly, then i blend the contour powder i have and pressed powder. So this way i can have the natural look. Thanks Viv

I don't care for the false lashes. I wore them for dance comps, but think they look too theatrical for day and night if not applied well. I have seen a lot that aren't applied well.

I absolutely love your attitude and beliefs about older women. Most people think that once we hit a certain age, were dead. Older women can look beautiful and dress any way that makes them feel good. I say live fully until the day you die.
Love her eyes so much that I just ordered the Nars colors..but sadly you lost me with the darker foundation she looked too orange. There is nothing wrong with having pale skin in fact, I believe that every skin color should be embraced. Lips 👄 looked amazing. Those lashes are love!!!

You made this lady look arresting, and that's a lot different than the typical result featured on TH-cam. I don't see a 60 year old face masked with layers of makeup or a look that is so minimal that it's almost transparent. In fact, the make-up simply enhances her natural coloring, various facial shapes, gorgeous blue eyes, beautiful fair skin, and an almost demure lip. Incredible work.

Lesley Hartnell Too funny. I loved the look, the products and Mathias' technique. As with anything, all techniques, colors, cosmetics etc are not for everyone. I know women in my age category who are very comfortable wearing only a lipgloss. I've been in this business of 'beauty' for years. Even having surgery on my left hip 3X and still worked in a salon, instructed in cosmetology schools and was a state cosmetology board examiner. I found the beauty industry so much fun. Sadly after my 4th total hip replacement, I knew I couldn't return to the salon or even a cosmetology school. I was by then turning 62 so I graciously , with the urging of my orthopaedic surgeon, retired. I'm still saddened by it, but life does go on. So now I'm happily blogging every Wednesday about what else???? BEAUTY and the products we use. The picture on display here was taken in July with my grey toned lipstick. Some ppl who know me said 'NO.!' While others said 'you go granny.' I may never wear my grey or black or 3x deep purple liquid lipsticks out of my house, but for me it's therapy and I love it. Where's the line that says "now that you are another decade and you have reached 70,". WHAT!!! What!! what! If I could see I'd have on the Minkiest (my word) lashes possible. I am 65 and wear subtle eyeshadow and black liner and I get compliments all the time on my skin and makeup. I also self tan my face in the winter(just a light golden colour) and wear a foundation that matches it. I use Nars concealer, Bobbi Brown stick foundation over Laura Mercia radiant primer or I mix Make up Forevers HD liquid foundation with the primer to make it illuminating.

You are amazing! It is difficult to change the way I put makeup on now that I'm 50. For a long time I was doing my makeup the same way I had always done it (like I was 30) it was not flattering. I have some beautiful nieces who are amazing with makeup but they are 20+ so when I tried to replicate their look....it was not good. Thank you for your video, you did an amazing job on her. She looks beautiful!

Caro Kane ,I have found that with many high end beauty products Amazon charges sometimes twice as much.
Carol Kane - It is not necessary to spend a fortune on makeup - Scan the net for samples and bargains - I have also seen sites that compare expensive and less expensive makeup and sometimes find no difference and even a preference for the drugstore brands - I am over 60 and I did my research and found $$$ does not equal the best makeup - A lot is marketing and hype and in some cases the packaging costs more to manufacture than the product - I learned my lesson when I spent $75 for under-eye concealer that was horrible and could not be returned - Of course there are expensive cosmetics that are wonderful, but there are also$1000 dresses not many of us can afford - The secret is to get the best product you can for what you can afford

I loved what he did with the eye shadows and the gel liner, however I felt that dark of eye gel was a bit too dark/strong with her complexion, same with the orange looking foundation. It was too dark in my opinion. But I love the very gentle looking blush and beautiful lip color. I am a 61 year old lady struggling with the same issues as the model used for this demonstration with similar complexion, so I always appreciate the demonstrations and the makeup artists. Hooded eyes and my eyebrows are big issues. I don't know what to do with them. Thanks for the demonstration. I loved it.Please do more.

Mathias, this makeup you recommended came in and I have been using it all for 3 days and I LOVE!!! I feel much more beautiful, youthful and MUCH more confident!!! Plus I'm getting LOTS of compliments and plenty of positively flirty looks!!! I believe I read a comment from a woman dissing that this would take all day!!! It does NOT!!! I wrote the steps down on a piece of paper that I keep in my bathroom and tops it takes 10, maybe 15 minutes but OH, SO WORTH the HUGE confidence builder. Even my family members are looking at me in a "wow! What have you done" you look GREAT way!!! Trust me, people, if my 2 left hands can do all this and make me look fabulous then anyone can do it. Mathias!!! You are every person that wants to feel better about theirselves new BFF!!!

A "ta-da!" photo of the finished makeup on this model at the end of the session would have been nice. Otherwise, thanks for the tutorial. Watched the vid all the way through but was disappointed not to see the model completely finished. A before and after would have been great. The vid just stops after putting on the mascara.

Right! Besides eyeliner will give the illusion of more lashes and at that age they are normally ...thinning shall I say. So it's a win win for me!
Fay Mel a lot of older women think gray is the "appropriate" color for eyeliner at that age, but I think gray looks like ashes and does absolutely nothing to bring out the eye color or skin tone. I think gray eyeliner or gray eyeshadow for older women is awful
I never wore eyeliner when I was young, because I thought it made a person look too hard. That can only be even more true in old age, and I wouldn't like to have to start wearing it now. Still, I've seen some young women who know how to apply it in such a way that you never notice they are wearing any eyeliner at all. So, I think the more subtle the better, and unless one is skilled, might be better to skip.
Me Andyou - I totally agree - A little liner applied sparingly can enhance a woman's eyes but this heavy-handed mink-lash, under-eye liner look screams fake, not natural - What all this hype is telling women is "There is something wrong with you so buy this product, look different and you will be okay" - It makes me laugh because George Cluny does not wear makeup in his movies and no men I know think they have to put all this junk on their face to be accepted - I agree makeup can be fun, but women have been sold a bill of goods as far as their appearance is concerned - If you change you will be better - It sells products and we keep buying them

I like what you do. But the only thing I have a problem with the lady over 60 the forehead down the nose it shows the outline of the foundation. It made be just the lighting. But the foundation is suppose to have that natural look. I use a darker foundation too. But I make sure mine is evenly, then i blend the contour powder i have and pressed powder. So this way i can have the natural look. Thanks Viv

same face to be 1/2shade darker.

I don't care for the false lashes. I wore them for dance comps, but think they look too theatrical for day and night if not applied well. I have seen a lot that aren't applied well.
