Yalova Thermal Springs and Baths

Yalova Thermal Springs, formerly known as Pythia, was formed in 2000 BC as a result of an earthquake. Yalova Thermal Springs, which lived through the ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods, was restored on various dates by King Constantinus, King Justinianos, Sultan Orhan, Sultan Hamit and Sultan Mecid. In 1929, the Thermal Atatürk Mansion and mansions were built in Yalova in the thermal spring, where Atatürk admired the natural beauty, and he came to Yalova at certain hours to both rest and work. Also Prof.Dr. Arif Müfit Mansel was commissioned to conduct research on the historical past of the region.
