Thankyou for sharing your knowledge. I spotted some clover and oxalis on my sister's lawn and made a small salad. It was my first as a beginner 🙂
Many of those plants also have medicinal benefits so whilst you are learning what you can forage, also find out if it can be used as a medicine.
Also another good reason to push for the banning of toxic sprays used by councils, home owners and businesses. 🙏💚
Y E S !!!!!!! We have asbsestos and roundup all across Sydney these days both of which are KNOWN carcinogenics !!! Roundup should be. banned full stop and so in my opinion should asbsestos. If it is carcinogenic the intelligent thing is for us to redesign our urban spaces so we grow edible herbs instead of grasses that need roundup . The company Monsanto is encouraging Companies and farmers to become dependent on their drugs/chemicals as they are also selling many of the “cures” i.e they produce both these chemicals and also pharmaceutical to treat the illness they cause. Why is it our responsibility to prop up these companies? They will Pivot if we stop buying /needing/ believing in their products. They tell us we are being selfish for sayign so but really? That is just manipulative gaslighting
I adore that book in your basket, I have it too. :) I can't wait to do more foraging, especially with the houseing crisis making money tight for a lot of us. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Mum said don’t eat sour sob’s because you don’t know if a dog’s pissed on it
I think you'd taste it. :)
If unsure, wash it.
My parents said this too lol
Best not to chance it lol
bro same
Magnificent presentation, ABC👍121
Looks really awesome!
More power to your channel Friend!
All the best!
That was great! Inspiring...I am going to look up courses over here in country WA, thank you!
Her knowledge is amazing! Plus she is so lovely in the way she delivers it! 💚
Other than three cornered leek, all these are trash edibles. She knows nothing. Leaves can't sustain you.
The landscape looks a lot like Canberra ACT (the capped and lapped fencing) but my wife tells me you are from Victoria.
I confess that I have despised many of the the plants you mention as weeds, I will have to revise my thinking.
It’s such a shame the council sprays chemicals everywhere! My husband and I went foraging in Melbourne Eastern Suburbs down next to a creek and saw a couple of council workers spraying poison. We went home empty handed too scared to forage for anything. Such a shame!
Thank you for sharing the knowledge.
What about Roundup ??? We used to do this as kids but now they are spraying roundup everywhere which is carcinogenic …. Interested to know your views on this
Look out for salsify. Also called, vegetable oyster.
but why is there a dog running in the background carrying a bucket?
Don't be greedy with the invasive weeds, kids.
Thankyou.
Also indian mallow
Mustard weed
The Opinel. A wonderful knife for use when foraging.
Great thing
“Observe and interact with the edges” - love the permaculture language! Such a great video ❤
Love the opinel knife! I just got another one from my local camp store.
Cool
This Video hasn't aged well.
Why’s that?
Anna the Urban Nana must be onto something. She looks really well fed.
What….
Thank you, ABC. And thank you @Eleonora Formato nee Szczepanowski EllieAdrift, for sharing this with me. We have all of these 'weeds' here as well. I hope that we'll find other familiar wild edibles together.
@Norman Schmidt, you are welcome and thank you. It sounds good.
@@eleonoraformatoneeszczepan8807 yeah, like wild Fancy tomatoes and wild asparaGus. Great combination. I so look forward to exploring Australia's garden of delights with you.
