Why Clock of the End & Other Alternate Win Conditions Need To Be Bad In The Digimon Card Game

Recently, Bandai did a livestream updating people on the future of the the Digimon Card Game, one of the announcements was BT17 Secret Crisis, which focuses on the villians from the Digimon series, one being Diaboromon which features an all new win condition for the Digimon Card Game. In today's video I discuss the new cards & why in my opinion it needs to be bad.

From what I've used of clock of the end, the only reason why you would even use clock of the end for winning the game is if you're in a situation where you can't swing at your opponent. because with the new support, all the token can just token rush for game.

Agree I have a proxies bt17 and ex6 diaboromon deck and used the clock mostly for protection and spamming token for game

i REALLY like the clock because aside from the "win game" it still does stuff and you can even get it out for free, i feel like the card is really solid for what it is and i love it.

Just a heads up, but I've seen rulings that Tokens cannot have sources. So presumably the clock card couldn't be tucked under Diaboromon tokens.

​@@SafetyDan101It's been a known thing since Arresterdramon SM's release, though now it's clearly mentioned in the CRM 4-19-2-2. The default diaboromon token card was made before such a thing was possible and they just didn't update it visually.

Any effect that applies to Digimon also applies to Tokens played as Digimon. Any effects that applies to Tamers also applies to Tokens played as Tamers. This is in the token rules don’t know if the wording on clock would technically be applying the card to the token though

@@SafetyDan101 It has been ruled like this for a while now, it's just that the old default diaboromon token was made during a time where it wasn't possible place a card under it, and its text was never updated. You can check the Comprehensive Rules Manual 4-19-2-2 for a source

I'd prefer clock being good over the "start of main phase"/"when your opponent plays -a digimon- " diaboromon

They dropped info on the infermon aswell

But it's the infermon from ex6 and not bt17, unless I'm wrong?
