I don't think he talked trash at all. Actually when I lived in Vancouver it was much the same. It's really about urban density and sacrificing space for convenience.
I would add that the one thing that is not convenient is finding a western toilet. I live in shanghai of all places and the only place that has them in public are the really high end malls. Even the modern train stations are all squatters. So if you live in the west and are thinking of coming here I'd highly recommend investing in a shovel and start digging some holes and practicing doing your business in your back yard for a month or so.
tom sully I also live in Shanghai (Pudong, next to Century Park) and haven't experienced this problem. However, I suspect the newness of the area I live in has something to do with this. In an older area I wouldn't be surprised if your observation was spot on.
Your offhanded, funny manner in which you explain Chinese words/meanings would make me want to watch a series of you teaching practical, useful Chinese interpretations from your fun perspective. Thanks.
OK, I also live in China and seeing how lucky you are to live so close to all those western restaurants made me insanely jealous. I have a McDonald's about a 5-10 minute walk away and then anything else is at least a 20 minute bus/scooter trip away. It's so inconvenient to go to Walmart or Pizza Hut. There are places like that in my city, but most areas aren't that full of Western restaurants. Tier 2 city here, but still... Also, I think there are some things that are more convenient, but others are not. Like shopping. Back home, I go to Walmart 1-2x a month, pile up my trunk w/ groceries and that's it. Here, no car = frequent shopping trips. I hate that. It's a trade off. When we're here, we'll miss home. When we're back home, we'll miss China.
hoo woo exactly. I used to live above a mall with supermarket inside. But I still got almost everything online cuz some stuff were heavy and I was too lazy to carry them for 10 min... also food, most of the restaurants deliver to ur door. So just learn to use apps, then everything would be awesome. I wanna go back to China everyday...
To be fair he did say this was a western part of the city as far as economically and the businesses were pretty much western style. Emphasize that he lives in that area
I enjoyed this video so much more than the past few. It felt more put together. I'm not complaining about the past few, they just weren't my cup of tea
Ottawa is terrible. Left there in 2009 for Hong Kong and never looked back. The freezing cold, filthy-wet winters, the total lack of convenience, the extreme boredom....and then the OC Transpo strike during the winter of '08 were all HUGE factors in my deciding to leave for good.
Prozzie man, you have the potential to surpass ADV, Serpentza and Cmilk. keep the content constant and you will reach 200k+ easy in a year and a half. You need to take advantage that you are single and can do stuff that serp and milk cant do, on film atleast.
Prozzinator is back!!! Totally watching this on my mobile instead of waiting for later at home! Why does Prozzie look like he wears a bunch of make up? :)
On a positive note...and not sure if they do it like this in mainland China but in Hong Kong we buy our movie tickets online, reserving the exact seats that we want. Last time we went to Canada we watched a family begging people to move around just so that they could sit side by side in a crowded theatre.
Being from Michigan I consider myself an honorary Canadian. We get the same weather and I live less than an hour away from Canada. Fun Fact: Detroit, Michigan is north of Canada
Fun, convenience, mortal danger - What's not to love about bike riding? ... (Well, unless they ban them in your city.) 2:15 _By the way, stranger, your indicator is on._ 2:30 Good that you point out that convenience can be dangerous. (Which then becomes very inconvenient.) 4:51 Ordering food is also great because you have a decent toilet nearby, and you may need it. | 5:48 McD and such are westaurants.
You should check out Vancouver Island if you ever come back to Canada. Good video, interesting to hear the perspective of differences for how easy some things are that other cultures have come up with!
Hey Prozzie. Just to clarify lane splitting is not legal or illegal here in Ottawa. It's basically a grey area. The government doesn't encourage it, but there's nothing in the highway traffic act that would prevent it. Also the bus system does still suck here and ridership is at an all time low.
Really? I had no idea. Thanks for the info dude. Honestly compared to other cities in Canada, I don't mind OC Transpo. Maybe it's changes in the last 4 years but the routs are extensive and the staff are super nice. It's just stupid expensive haha
Dude I was one of those people that was like "I'll take the bus. I have no need for a car." When I was in High School as bus pas was 37.50 and now it's $87.75 for a student. The schedules still suck ass on weekends and the buses are still packed to the tits otherwise.
Watching your video makes me miss my hometown Guangdong. Yes, China is the most convenient place I have ever lived. Having all necessary stores within walking distance is awesome. Now living in Canada, I need to do everything with a car. Even though driving is relatively easy and safe in Canada, I do want everything to be delivered to my door.
Awesome video, so true. When I got to China I was so blown away by the fact that I could use Mei Tuan to have anything delivered to me. Of course, it also helps you find massage places and Tattoo places and all those kinds of things. Then on top of it you have Wechat... a mobile bank account that lets you order a taxi/uber no matter where you are? I never knew convenient until I moved to China. We do it all wrong in America.
We have had this kind of services here in the states for years lol but they are not cheap so not everyone uses it. you pay for the meal then you pay around $5 for the delivery charge , plus tipping the driver an additional 15-20% it can add up!
Finally a Canadian!!! Those "aboot" and "oot" problunciations just feeeeeel so good to hear!!! T-T I'm a Chinese living in Montreal for many years and i reallllllllly reallly want to go back to try all these new things. Btw, you are a real nice guy!!! Vive le Canada!
hey man you should do some videos on how to ex-pat from scratch to China...not just only english teaching but into other fields way too many people await some insights from someone in the inside. Keep prozzieing!
Damn. So refreshing to see one of you uploading something positive about China. Was worried all y'all gonna upload are click-baits for people who already hate China yet have never been there. LOL
the public transport in England is also surprisingly bad. for such a small country it takes a long time to travel to places only a few miles away. England's roads are also extremely safe, we often say taking a driving test in England is like taking a PHD in driving..
There is a new service called door dash in the United States that delivers all restaurant and fast foods to your door for anywhere from free to about $6
Hey if you like sitting outside while eating and drinking beer germany (esp. here in bavaria) would be your place we do this all summer long in our Biergarten. Ice Cold beer by the litre and you can bring your own food.
Here in the Netherlands we have tons of restaurants who deliver to home . On an app you can order it (yes also with pictures ) . Even in smaller cities (less than 100.000) people . prozzie, 你的中文好吗。
what i thought was really cool was, when i bought pants at a department store in china, they tailored them to fit while i was paying for them.. so fast and cheap!!
When you say "The West", what you actually mean is Canada. Most cities in Europe are similarly convenient regarding local restaurants. Big cities in the states are kinda the same too, usually lots of places to eat within walking distance of apartment complexes. I used to live in Winnipeg in Canada, and have traveled a lot of Canada, where its definitely true you generally have to drive somewhere to get food, though Winterpeg was reasonably convenient compared to Calgary and Ottawa
Hey Prozzie, been watching your videos for some time now and im preparing myself to go to China next month, You, Winston and C-balls helped me a lot with these videos, so if theres a way somehow I can thank you by buying you a beer, let me know and I shall give you the cheapest, dirtiest beer ever as my thank you.
Its wild to hear you talk about driving while you drive through traffic passing on the right sliding through the middle and breaking every western law I know. lol great video
First Big up for being honest about negativity in the previous video, second the good things mentioned in the video are far more honest compared to the entire winston's list where fake money always fascinates me i admits there are fake money but the point is no one use cash those days, all WeChat, he must be living in the 80's.
Hey prozzie, wanna help you out with the money situation. I noticed you have a shanghai licence plate for your car. They are pretty costly rn, I'd say around 100k rmb. Since you live in huizhou, you can sell that licence plate and get a Guangdong plate for a very low price.
love your videos, keep up the good work. your a very attractive young man, my sister and I love it when you release a new video. best wishes from Maryland in the USA
Always someone driving on the wrong side. Meituan is a dream too it has everything. Damn you live close enough for Burger King to deliver. I live in peasant Maidi.
Prozzie, your video is not that negative about China, If they are, they're mostly truths and your experiences, not some generalized and biased crap (*cough* Winston *cough*) and that's why you're my favorite China youtuber, we'll miss you after you moved to Japan.
during my last two weeks in China, it was crunch time for research projects, and I had no time to go anywhere for food. 饿了么 was my savior... i did gain like 3kg though cause it was so easy to order anything. but then I moved to Taiwan and there is essentially no food delivery system like 饿了么. and the food is generally a little better here, and plus a bunch of walking to get to and from work, no more 3kg.
See you C-milk and serpent ZA grew up in like the suburbs and moved to a major city. I grew up with this in The Bronx NY And it's not even a major part of the city. Now that my rant is over, I feel like you're talking up the benefits of any major city, which is cool, but it's not a China thing.
It depends on what part of Canada you are from? Think it might be related to the Francophones speaking english, similar to ending a sentence with "eh". I pronounce it "about" but some mericans only hear "aboot".
Thailand is much more convenient than China. China is convenient but no one can top Thailand. It's actually kinda nuts. A wide variety of food, including noodle soups, bbq meat and salad, comes by on motorcycle. You can buy purified water every block or so, or recharge your phone, or do your laundry. Or all three at once. You can buy a mouse, a phone, a USB stick, toys for your kids, and a freshly made toastie and fresh made coffee at 7-11. And food delivery is standard as well. In case you want something different than the vendors that come through every day.
Deliveroo takes the responsibility of deliverying food on the part of all kinds of restaurants, seemingly including McDonald's. Though I never used it personally. Also there is Android Pay or Apple Pay in the west, which are also very convenient.
delivery costs are much higher though. here, you can have an awesome meal delivered to your door for like four dollars, including delivery fee. and AliPay/WeChat pay are much more widely accepted here than Apple Pay in the west. Even little old ladies selling fruit by the side of the street will accept Alipay, it's crazy
Finally a *Prozzitive* video about China
this video makes me feel like China is more western then Lithuania
but still talking trash about Canada!
Just before the door smashed in he's back head
:)
I don't think he talked trash at all. Actually when I lived in Vancouver it was much the same. It's really about urban density and sacrificing space for convenience.

It's all about aiming... And I suck at it! Sorry cleaning ladies!
I was surprised some newer McDonalds didn't have them. Luckily there are shopping malls everywhere if you're in a larger city.
Didn't experience this too much in Beijing, most places that weren't in the middle of nowhere had at least one western/'disabled' toilet.
Weird, TH-cam is telling me your message is from 1 week ago. Are you from the future?
Your offhanded, funny manner in which you explain Chinese words/meanings would make me want to watch a series of you teaching practical, useful Chinese interpretations from your fun perspective. Thanks.

why not buy thing online, using taobao.com or jd.com

You'd struggle to fill one minute let alone ten about how convenient Edmonton is to live in. Keep the videos coming!
Good video. Lots of information. I think this is a good template for more videos in the future.
I enjoyed this video so much more than the past few. It felt more put together. I'm not complaining about the past few, they just weren't my cup of tea

I totally agree for the we chat part.. something we still miss here in Europe. WeChat in China was life
Love you Prozzie. Great video.
Love the video. Love you. Improzzible not to stay Prozzitive.
Spot on Prozzie, great video! You area looks cool, I can't wait to have a visit and sit at a street stand and drink beers with you :)

Ef peevee, I absolutely agree.
That's true. You can do reportage from brothels and shit like that!
too bad he's a bum...
Prozzie, this bro is right. Please dedicate yourself and you can be a full time YouBro!!
Yes Prozzie, make more videos, they are so good.
This is much better and you are adding value as this will help people planning to visit or move to China.
Prozzie is back~
great video!
Prozzinator is back!!! Totally watching this on my mobile instead of waiting for later at home! Why does Prozzie look like he wears a bunch of make up? :)
Cuz he's a prozzie! duh.
...but it's the combo if what looks like blush, guy liner, and lip gloss.. paired with his persistent 5 oclock shadow
On a positive note...and not sure if they do it like this in mainland China but in Hong Kong we buy our movie tickets online, reserving the exact seats that we want. Last time we went to Canada we watched a family begging people to move around just so that they could sit side by side in a crowded theatre.
It's very common to buy movie ticket online and reserve the seat, I did it a lot when I was in China.
Prozzie
thanks fro all the info, good to know for anyone traveling to China

That is the reason why I have the feel of uncertainty while my phone battery is low
I live in Huizhou! I don't actually have to leave home for any reason but work. Food, clothes, everything to the door!
Watching your video makes me miss my hometown Guangdong. Yes, China is the most convenient place I have ever lived. Having all necessary stores within walking distance is awesome. Wow. You are brave driving like that.
In Ottawa 2017 we have ubereats which can deliver most restaurants to your door relatively cheap.
We have had this kind of services here in the states for years lol but they are not cheap so not everyone uses it. you pay for the meal then you pay around $5 for the delivery charge , plus tipping the driver an additional 15-20% it can add up!

Prozzie and Wing in one Video. Very Good.
Prozzie is the kind of friend that I want to make

I need to get a list of dubious questions together in preperation

Everybody stay prozzitive!

you are really a nice guy..just get your shit together and quit drinking
its really sad to see you gone..anyway wish you luck~
how does prozzie upload to youtube from china.... vpn duh
Real question is why do you want him to quit drinking?
I use to be an alcoholic, I hope people don't end up like me
maybe I'm worrying too much..
but even quit drinking just for health, still a good idea
da xie. But imagine how boring Prozzie would be without him either being 1) drunk or 2) hungover?
tom sully oh my God that was the best answer
3:03 The wheels of that car aren't spinning!!!
Its wild to hear you talk about driving while you drive through traffic passing on the right sliding through the middle and breaking every western law I know. lol great video
Dude you rock!
Outstanding video. Do you still have your car? Also, I am curious about what sort of music you listen to. Do you ever go to listen to live music?
Thanks, had no idea of this app. E' le ma looks like a great deal.
Same thing in Mexico City. They have basically all western brands also.
Always good to slide a shot of Wing into your video to up the like count.
Proz how did you get your motorcycle license in China?
I'm in Hangzhou and the DMV claims that they don't have an English version of the written test.
Your videos are getting better , fuck the haters. Keep up the good fight prozzie
i love you Prozzie
Damn good dude
First Big up for being honest about negativity in the previous video, second the good things mentioned in the video are far more honest compared to the entire winston's list where fake money always fascinates me i admits there are fake money but the point is no one use cash those days, all WeChat, he must be living in the 80's.
wei Zhang have you heard Winston's music in his videos? He IS living in the eighties.
J Anthony that make sense😉😉
Damn dude you got a pretty good location. Everything is like 20minutes from my house or more....
Beer and BBQ on the street is THE BEST thing in China, miss it so much
Hey prozzie, wanna help you out with the money situation. I noticed you have a shanghai licence plate for your car. They are pretty costly rn, I'd say around 100k rmb. Since you live in huizhou, you can sell that licence plate and get a Guangdong plate for a very low price.
i dont think any of his vehicles are actually registered, they just have plates on them but no payment.
damn Proz' 17,000...that was quick!...so when ya coming up to Shanghai brotha man!
love your videos, keep up the good work. your a very attractive young man, my sister and I love it when you release a new video. best wishes from Maryland in the USA
Prozzie do you got a motorcycle driver's license in China and in Canada?
Do phones need NFC to utilize WeChat over there?
Eric O'Connor no, just a screen
Eric O'Connor I use my iPhone, so no need for NFC. QR codes are ubiquitous here.
QPR code scanning.
NFC is the reason apply pay failed in china
Always someone driving on the wrong side. Meituan is a dream too it has everything. Damn you live close enough for Burger King to deliver. I live in peasant Maidi.
Prozzie, your video is not that negative about China, If they are, they're mostly truths and your experiences, not some generalized and biased crap (*cough* Winston *cough*) and that's why you're my favorite China youtuber, we'll miss you after you moved to Japan.
how are the prices like in the restaurants outside your window?
Omg your apartment is sooooo nice!!
Yes, Wechat pay is good, I wish we can do it in here (USA), people always say that we do have it, but it is not as popular as in China.
have you/can you do an apartment tour/complex tour?
during my last two weeks in China, it was crunch time for research projects, and I had no time to go anywhere for food. 饿了么 was my savior... i did gain like 3kg though cause it was so easy to order anything. but then I moved to Taiwan and there is essentially no food delivery system like 饿了么. and the food is generally a little better here, and plus a bunch of walking to get to and from work, no more 3kg.
prozzie, it seems like china's road conveniently suits your way of driving motorcycle.
Sichuan foods the best cause I love spicy food I have a Sichuan Chinese restraunt near my house I always go to
Such a zoo , here ........ I visit this channel every night before going to sleep , for chill out...
See you C-milk and serpent ZA grew up in like the suburbs and moved to a major city. I grew up with this in The Bronx NY And it's not even a major part of the city. I had Chinese, diners, Italian, pizza, Thai, Spanish, and more all within a 5 min walk or less. Not only that 24 hour stores, (bodega) yes multiple stores, within walking distance (2 mins) and they serve hot food like burgers, mozzarella sticks, and they served sandwhices plus they're a typical convience store. The train was a 2 minute walk, the bus was a 5 minute walk. The barber was around the corner, the supermarket was up the block. Now that my rant is over, I feel like you're talking up the benefits of any major city, which is cool, but it's not a China thing.
Well the US had this app called LevelUp, but it appears that they have switched to mobile ordering..
I wish more places here delivered.
Wait, wait, wait, I thought the Canadian "aboot" was a myth!
Also that "houuse" lol and I'm not even a native English speaker (I'm Indian) and even I noticed the accent.
It depends on what part of Canada you are from? Think it might be related to the Francophones speaking english, similar to ending a sentence with "eh". I pronounce it "about" but some mericans only hear "aboot".
U ride that bike crazy, be safe bro.
Dude, you are in Huizhou... No wonder the road is so familiar to me.
Prozzie, you still living in huizhou ?
Thailand is much more convenient than China. China is convenient but no one can top Thailand. It's actually kinda nuts. Lol what was that last bit about with the bike?
Ottawa is the boondocks... like most of Canada
bird718, hey, whoa, whoa, whoa...............
yes we like this video - make more :-)
Prozzie, how do you spell the app you're talking about in this video?
Prozzie - What is the name of the shopping mall?
Good video Prozzie 😂

the metro is opening in 2018
Hey Prozzie, just curious as to why you never bought a bike from Churchill Customs?
Too poor most likely, he always talks about how poor he is.
I have two bikes from them
They are broken down? The 2 bikes I mean. Doesn't Churchill have a Warranty? LOL
