I dunno, I absolutely didn't believe him since he doesn't come off as very sincere but after seeing how elated he was and the energy he got back with the relief I'm thinking he was just an extremally anxious person who maybe has trouble dealing with panic. I think from what he said he was the 2 kids only guardian and the mother only came around when she felt like it, its extremely hard to have a single parent role thrown on you from the other being absent, it seems like he had his hands full and was having a really hard time doing it alone. You can say what you want but even through the cards he was dealt he still didn't hurt his kid, i applaud him for passing and trying his best and hope he can get through this hard time.
I understand his pain. Just a month ago my son got a nasty bruise and none of us knows what happened. Only people home were me, my husband and my son and daughter. My boy is almost 3 and usually runs back and forth from the living room and play room. So when he ran down the hall, we didn’t think anything. I literally heard him run down the hall and run back. Soon as he made it back, I looked up and his eye was black with a bad bruise under it. Everyone else was in the living room so I know nobody hit him. And there was no thump so I know he didn’t fall or bump into anything. I just heard his feet run up the hall and back down to us. Nothing in between. He had this bruise for a week. I couldn’t imagine being home alone with him and someone thinking I neglected him or beat him.

He did make several missteps like not supervising the kids more thoroughly or checking on the little boy after the fight for injuries. I wonder if he’s not usually the primary caregiver and she’s the one doing most of the work.
as my dad said , me and my brother fought lots when we were little and it was a normal thing for us to do and my brother has adhd so when he gets mad he runs everywhere so he didn’t have a chance to look for marks .

What really bothers me, though, is how (wilfully?) clueless Steve can be about practical consequences sometimes. This guy has a warrant, and is the only parent available. Him going away will do nothing good for the kids. Obviously, he should have thought of that and sorted it out, but in the moment, running away keeps the kids with him and out of the system where worse could happen.
Steve still carries a lot of LEO/cop bias in the way he sees the world. He's going to advocate for turning yourself in on the warrant to make it easier on yourself with a judge, not thinking about what happens in foster care.

I was about to say the exact same thing. I’m honestly, shocked!!! Yes, he did “speak very emotionally” to quote Steve, but it didn’t seem genuine. I was so surprised that Steve didn’t call him out at all after he finished telling his story of what happened, or even really have any follow up questions. He DOES seem just a little different (but, who am I to judge, because I am too for sure), but I think he was just super nervous and like he said, could tell no one believed him, which probably made his anxiety about being there on stage even worse. Steve aggravates me sometimes, I believe he's a good dude, but honestly. I work for the US Department of agriculture. I've never been in legal trouble in my life. But I understand why people would get anxiety over having a bunch of thugs in uniforms, throwing them in handcuffs, and arresting them over traffic fines. I absolutely understand why that would cause anxiety, and caused you to run. Police are not the good guys. For the most part, police are thugs. We all know this.. police escalate rather than de-escalate, they are not good at their jobs, they're not even versed in the laws that they enforce. I'm at airborne firefighter, my job is 10 times tougher than any cop can ever dream of being, police don't get it, because they get to use the handcuffs. They get to just throw handcuffs on and draw out power, and have their friends come and help them put people in handcuffs when people didn't even break the law, they escalate situations,. No respect.
ITS totally understandable that someone who had a warrant for their arrest would avoid police contact by any means. Warrants must arrest even if you're a victim of a crime; if they find out you're wanted you are going to jail. People who don't understand why he jumped out of a window have never had a warrant before.

But, I’ll be the first to admit, I felt terrible by the end of the segment. He DOES seem just a little different (but, who am I to judge, because I am too for sure), but I think he was just super nervous and like he said, could tell no one believed him, which probably made his anxiety about being there on stage even worse. I’m happy that he got to clear his name, and hope he gets everything else cleared up as well.
He had a warrant that doesn’t mean would be unkind to his children.
I could not be happier for this guy! You could see in his face the pain he was in over the accusation. & people have done way dumber things over warrants than just jumping out of a window, so that part didn’t dissuade me. Good luck bro!

Steve aggravates me sometimes, I believe he's a good dude, but honestly. I work for the US Department of agriculture. I've never been in legal trouble in my life. But I understand why people would get anxiety over having a bunch of thugs in uniforms, throwing them in handcuffs, and arresting them over traffic fines. I absolutely understand why that would cause anxiety, and caused you to run. Police are not the good guys. For the most part, police are thugs. We all know this.. police escalate rather than de-escalate, they are not good at their jobs, they're not even versed in the laws that they enforce. I'm at airborne firefighter, my job is 10 times tougher than any cop can ever dream of being, police don't get it, because they get to use the handcuffs. They get to just throw handcuffs on and draw out power, and have their friends come and help them put people in handcuffs when people didn't even break the law, they escalate situations,. No respect.

ITS totally understandable that someone who had a warrant for their arrest would avoid police contact by any means. Warrants must arrest even if you're a victim of a crime; if they find out you're wanted you are going to jail. People who don't understand why he jumped out of a window have never had a warrant before.
