Im from india . I have adhd . I hv struggled a lot in my life. But i hv not suceeded yet by societal standards. To hv lived this much seems like an achievement at times.
This was amazing!! Human life in its raw form of pain and mistreatment while seeking understanding through the burden of why to live and grow. Its a remarkable book to give a person focus on their path.
Logos is deeper than meaning; existentialism, spiritual insights change perception. We derive an attitude in the moment, and the purpose is given when we rise above ourselves. Nothing is ever lost, thankful for Sigmund Freud and Viktor Frankl, Carl Jung , Dostoevsky.
The description of the a suffering in the concentration camp just remind me of what’s going on now in Gaza. How terrible is that one oppressed nation now oppresses others. 🇵🇸
Muselmann (German plural Muselmänner) was a term used amongst prisoners of German Nazi concentration camps during the Holocaust of World War II to refer to those suffering from a combination of starvation (known also as "hunger disease") and exhaustion, as well as those who were resigned to their impending death.
Enlightening thought upon hearing the description of the apathy of the prisoners (apathy is something that often repels us and understanding its message is important for healing): Apathy itself is a result of feeling too overwhelmed by the pain that the brain chooses to take the person away from it... But underneath apathy are deep emotions wanting to be heard and felt. In essence, it is a temporary state to manage the pain and suffering that one feels as a result of trauma--and heals when one is in a safe space to acknowledge the suffering underneath it and compassionately move through the deeper feelings.
Also, seeing values as a defense mechanism (around 3 hours in) seems odd when we consider those that focus on connection, like empathy/compassion. Considering that, compassion could be used as a way to defend ourselves for not setting the appropriate boundaries--but if we value compassion, should we not also value self-compassion as well?
"When a man lies he murders some part of the world These are the pale deaths Which men miscall their lives All this I cannot bear to witness any longer Cannot the kingdom of salvation Take me home" ~ Cliff Burton
In psychiatry there is a certain condition known as "delusion of reprieve." The condemned man, immediately before his execution, gets the illusion that he might be reprieved at the very last minute. 26:00, End:41:47 pg17
2:23:19. Lost belief in the future. Lost his spiritual hold. 2:27:56 He who has WHY to live, can bear almost any How. 2:28:46. up too Right Action, Right Conduct....dependant on the individual? 2:58:54 Logotherapy in a nutshell.
3:26:06 elderly practitioner surviving his wife. Prime example of logotherapy, not telling one how to live, helping one come to their own conclusions. The doctor is sparing her of her suffering
Page 40, 58:45 Apathy, the main symptom of the second phase, was a necessary mechanism of self-defence. Page 45, 01:07:41 There were fifty of us in the prison car, which had two small, barred peepholes.
The author posits that if you’ve got the “way” of things you’ll figure out the “how”. But what, dear reader, is one to do if they’ve lost the “why” but they’re still breathing and cannot kill themselves? To be all alone and without purpose is challenging. It’s tricky to avoid despair and overwhelm over the near infinity of choices & the infinity of words that can be spoken in each moment as well as the infinity of actions that can be taken, such that no action is taken and no words are spoken! This person I speak of is too hurt from being wrong about one too many people and she doesn’t understand why because with her education and experience, she feels she should be able to sense the people who aren’t truly good or trustworthy. Alas no & while she’ll always be a flower, she’s nearing the end of her bloom and wondering at the last chapters of her life. She, who is me, is beginning to figure that I better channel some of my flashes of thought into fiction & do my very best to recover inner peace and access to & right use of personal power. I will remain loving and hope to be able to feel loved in a sustained manner. Peace & love to you all & all creatures.
Everything you said I resonate with completely as the why has always been my question as well which took me what feels like forever to “answer”. As I believe I have concluded that the only answer to our questions leads to more questions so therefore you have to learn to be satisfied with incomplete answers as there are no complete ones. You could really get into the whole perfection idealism and how this originates with Plato and how flawed that line of thinking is but nonetheless you have to accept the incompleteness. The most obvious “answer” to why live is that life is all you have of value. You could never conclude with enough certainty that their is something beyond this that you would give up the only thing you have a value. To your second point which seems like your referring to indecision I resonate with this as well yet I will tell you this is cope for you not wanting to make a decision. Yet the irony is that indecision is still a decision it’s just a null decision. Deeper than that your brain compares and contrasts everything, it works on a yes no binary therefore you always have a preferred decision however the indecision comes from the other variables involved within making the decision. The easiest way for me to get over my indecisiveness is simply to think of things through the lense or the eternal return which is Nietzsche idea that you would have to live life over and over again every single painstaking moment. Therefore it forces you to make a decision and build out the life you desire like a sculptor. The key of thinking in that way is keeping you from making decisions that promote short term comfort as short term comfort=long term problems. Sorry for patronizing but seemed like you needed some advice. Lastly I recommend the myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus really helped me especially with the suicide stuff. His other books are amazing as well and also any Nietzsche books although I tend to disagree with him more but his ability unturn every rock everyone else is unwilling to is enlightening. Specifically for Nietzsche I recommend thus spoke Zarathustra and beyond good and evil.
Your words speak deeply to how I feel today...thank you for giving voice to my mood. My answer to these feelings is to feel them all and keep gratitude in my heart as I chop wood, carry water. Today I choose to nurture life in my gardens along with my animal family. My yearning is to nurture my body and spirit more fully. All life, including mine is a gift, no matter what my shadow self tells me.😅 💕
I am a Jordan Peterson fan myself, but I'm not here because of Jordan Peterson. My trauma-informed counselor recommended I read this book, after surviving nothing less than a horror story with sequels.
"The crowning experience of all for the homecoming man is the wonderful feeling that after all he has suffered there is nothing he need fear anymore, except his God." -- Man's Search for Meaning What bothers me is that this is the only time Viktor Frankyl mentions God in his book. His own God, YHWH, should be the meaning of life (the Answer to Why) and it puzzles me that this Jewish man didn’t relate a truth that's so fundamental to his existence. "In the beginning was the Meaning, and the Meaning was with God, and the Meaning was God."
Read by "Nicole". I appreciate that the audiobook is free however I think that it is probably read by AI in the paid TH-cam version as well. It's kind of maddening to listen to this, with a bit of irony thrown in. Perhaps if there were volunteers available to do the reading for free, thereby protecting the bottom line, it would make it easier to listen.
I just wrote -finding a meaning in life To TH-cam and this was maybe fifth video. Im just unmotivayed in this time and western culture... I mean i want to find something i can feel passion with... Music and art has been the thing. Im 43 male and these days machines have so big part in everything i feel bored and dont relate anymore in these too perfect things surrounding me everyday etc. Fast and shallow is the culture today and i dont find much interest in it... Hmmm, maybe I just start to rent some piece of gatden somewhere and color it with plants and flowers and enjoy their scentes and air... I mean dont every guru and wiseman end up like that...? 😅 When theyre done with crowds and mass hypnosis
Hope you’ve started to feel better and started your garden. Gardening is good for the soul and one can learn so much from the plants and soil and air and light and water. You’re never too old to learn and to improve. The obstacle is the way, my friend. What seems an obstacle may truly be an opportunity if only one was open. Stop and smell the roses.
The part where yhe prisoners were conditioned to be robots and have "abnormal" reactions was very cool to me. I think it is the most clear representation of free will and freedom of choice, no matter the situation
But we cannot control that, so why should we whine about it? Instead, you could go purchase a copy of the book or visit your local library (don’t forget to get a library card) and make a recording, yourself. You would be adding immense value to your life and the life of others and your energy would not be wasted
@@freeyourmind4349 That is a wonderful idea! I am an avid reader and I love to promote learning. Currently, my energy is focusing on my art and visualizing the achievement of this further goal, which I set for myself, after earning my college degree later in life. I wasn't whining as much as lamenting the fact. Yes, own library cards for the local cities, as I feel patronage is important to keep them alive.
Indeed!I have used speechify and the voices from it are not as good as yours ,but they're realistic as well.but this synthesis voices of this video is super soothing!
I wonder whether we need to have copyrights for uploading audiobooks or not... Like this one ... Asking because I'm also making a audio library but in my local language Your response would be of great help.
@@MzimaAudioLibrary Wow you are a really cool person! You are so helpful. Refreshing to see. Thank you and see you up lifted my spirits this moment. All alone in life right now and in a lot of stress… Free audiobooks are saving my sanity & my life. Is there any reason you can’t just read the books with your own voice? I will admit that your automated or digital voice is better than a lot but it still bothers me and I don’t want the jobs to be taken away from the humans of narrating books… What do you think? Thank you and I wish you well.
3:02:25 I am glad that the comparison to Adlerian Psychology was brought forth. I was considering how Adlerian psychology is also a goal based psychotherapeutic approach. More teleological than etiological
There were technical hitches during production, we have been working on the issue for the past month. We will be forced to upload a new video, since TH-cam doesn't have a reupload a video.
@@mishapadilla8157 it's not that they don't know where to pause, it is an issue of input, garbage in garbage out that's the computer world, since the channel is in it second month and counting the major efforts were in starting a consistent source of content, which was offered the same way every time, we admin there a few hitches which were deliberately left during post production, Use of AI was the only way of producing consistent content, I am a fan of audiobooks but I usually dislike the disparity of accent, voice tone , speech rate, and many other factors that forced me into creating this channel, it's not easy, there so many things to understand about the AI, the voice is what we invested most in but there other parameters at play

DMX was profound.
@@bdevlin2481 I am sure he’s been called a whole lot of things before, but, profound? That's some fucked up shit, yo😂
suffering has its meaning, accept it exists. Two sides of life together, perfect state. Love and hatred, chaos and peace - shapeless inbetween.
Awesome
I feel like I’ve been in a psychology camp for the mind for 35 years and I was just released with no vengeance and only love
The description of the a suffering in the concentration camp just remind me of what’s going on now in Gaza. How terrible is that one oppressed nation now oppresses others. 🇵🇸
Wow what a good listen, it's no wonder this book is highly recommended.

I definitely understand where you’re coming from. Thank you for this. I wish you well and happiness.
You write so beautifully. Your words resonate with me. Thank you for sharing ❤
I read your post and it felt like you've poured my heart out there. Lemme know if you find a way out of this. I hope you do. 💕
All life, including mine is a gift, no matter what my shadow self tells me.😅 💕
I would want to say there is nothing wrong with losing hope, getting sick, and dying.

"The crowning experience of all for the homecoming man is the wonderful feeling that after all he has suffered there is nothing he need fear anymore, except his God." -- Man's Search for Meaning
What bothers me is that this is the only time Viktor Frankyl mentions God in his book.

It's too bad that this is an AI narration because it lacks inflection and words and sentences are abruptly cut up, causing a disconnect.
I wonder whether we need to have copyrights for uploading audiobooks or not... Like this one ...
Asking because I'm also making a audio library but in my local language
Your response would be of great help.
I will depend, on the book, some books have and others don't, another thing to watch out for is rewritten book they may have copyright, as of now this channel has three copywriter materials, the thing is don't get a copyright removal notice, that is Bad!! seriously
The material is not under copyright ©️
But I don't know about the version of the book you will use, preferably go for the original book.
Do your homework, and just Google the copyright status of the book, For some it is obvious while for others it's coin flip 🙃 the only way to tell is to do your homework, upload and then you will know
Things to Note 💯
Avoid recent books‼️most if not all are under copyright, but if you are translate there may be an exception.
If you have any other questions let me know☺️

good narration, but why are there so many random pauses?
There were technical hitches during production, we have been working on the issue for the past month. We will be forced to upload a new video, since TH-cam doesn't have a reupload a video.
When AI reads aloud they don’t know where to pause naturally. I’ve noticed that problem wherever an AI is used to read.
This man had suffered so much that we atleast can neglect the hitch in audio.
