seriously, paying bonuses to hurt star players doesn’t only hurt the player, the team; and the trust. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Payton is trying to save face because he got out maneuvered, again. He really wanted JJ McCarthy but our Vikings outsmarted him. 😂 Remember, he wanted Mahomes back in the 2017 draft but the Chiefs maneuvered him then and he's been pissed about that for a long time.

Here's what happened. Payton went on Denver radio and said Bo Nix was his man all along. That was a lie. He wanted McCarthy and the Vikings knew he wanted McCarthy. That's why the Vikings moved up because they knew Payton wanted McCarthy. So now Payton had to do damage control and say he tricked the Vikings which means he wanted people to think had no interest in McCarthy, which he did. So saying he tricked the Vikings was damage control because he said he wanted Nix all along..which he didn't. So he was trying to cover his lie.

He didnt want to give up future first round pick of 2025 and first/third of 2024 to get too nine. Hes just jealous and miss out on JJ. And that reason being the kid can run a base NFL offense already for two years. Bears wanted too much for them too just jump three spots but its top ten of draft. Jets was willing to take JJ to be groom behind Rodgers. Just so happy we got this kid.
