Hello like your videos give you credit for what you are doing, when I was younger use to do a lot of hiking in my mid 60s now things where not that crowded back there, glad to see there are still younger people out there enjoying the beauty of nature.
Beautiful video! that small structure by the look out was a weather station that had instruments in it to measure relative humidity in the air and also in wood(fuel) needed to predict fire behavior....
Nason Ridge has wonderful hikes for all skill levels. Surprised no Mt. Goats to see? Rock Mt. is very strenuous but the views are incredible. Looking forward to your next hike.
Nice views. That lookout is relatively new. In 1936 a L-4 groundhouse was constructed with an oversize stone base. The structure was replaced in 1975 with a 15’x 15’ standard R-6 flattop cab.
Awesome area.....beautiful scenery. Im watching from the Oregon Coast but I grew up in Seattle Washington....so its fun to see the mountains I never went to. Ive heard you talk about bears but im curious how you feel about mountain lions out there? Love your videos and friendly personality
Hi I’ve been watching your channel and love it so much! You inspire me with your knowledge, your bravery, and your enthusiasm for nature and the great PNW! I live in Snohomish county and I was wondering if I wanted to start hiking on my own being a single woman, have you always felt safe hiking on your own? there never seems to be people on the trail when you’re hiking but I know a lot of those hikes get crowded quick. Is it because you start early in the morning? Do you carry any safety items with you? Bear spray, bell/horn?
Hi, oh thank you so much! I have never once felt unsafe due to humans or wildlife on trail. I carry bear spray as well as a knife I keep easily accessible(the knife is also just an essential) But the reason I am often alone is yes, starting early is the key to beating crowds, I am also lucky enough to get to hike often on weekdays which further reduces crowding. But an early start really does the trick even on busy trails on the weekend. If people are your concern go check out trails less traveled, if it's not a top 25 trail in WA chances are you will only see a handful of people if anyone at all. And for wildlife I felt confident once I learned what you are supposed to do with each animal encounter(and the bear spray of course) and for the most part animals are minding their own business. If you want to be around people then so long as you go anywhere even remotely popular you won't be alone much. I am probably going to make a video at some point with advice and tips for solo hikers, especially solo women
Simply amazing scenery, this trail looks insanely beautiful! You nailed it once again 👏👏
