"Narcotics Anonymous (NA) describes itself as a "fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem" following the Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions developed by Alcoholics Anonymous, and it is the second-largest 12-step organization.
As of May 2010 there were more than 58,000 NA meetings in 131 countries.
Because no attendance records are kept, it is impossible to estimate what percentages of those who come to Narcotics Anonymous remain active in NA over time. The only sure indicator of the program's success in attracting members is the rapid growth in the number of registered Narcotics Anonymous meetings in recent decades and the rapid spread of Narcotics Anonymous outside North America.
In 1978, there were fewer than 200 registered groups in three countries.
In 1983, more than a dozen countries had 2,966 meetings.
In 1993, 60 countries had over 13,000 groups holding over 19,000 meetings.
In 2002, 108 countries had 20,000 groups holding over 30,000 meetings.
In 2005, 116 countries had over 21,500 groups holding over 33,500 weekly meetings.
In 2007, there were over 25,065 groups holding over 43,900 weekly meetings in 127 countries.
In 2012, there were over 62,700 meetings worldwide in over 142 countries" From Wikipedia

Im not a religious person I am highly spiritual and I'm speaking to you with 10 yrs clean to let you know this thing works! I came into sobriety beat up fucked up and dead on the inside...what your going through now won't last. Anything that's worth having is gonna be hard to get and you'll come to see you'll appreciate it more...once you get through this you never hav to feel this way again. You going to get so much more fro this side of life..I promise you nothing but freedom from active addiction and that its priceless. I believe in you Brandon, although we don't know each other we know the struggle and this thing will pass. Your goin to be the updated version of you. Keep ya head up and keep pushing,you came this far don't turn back now..give yourself a chance.

I like how honesty is huge here. Talking about the problem is you. That we struggled long before the drugs came. I harmed a lot of people in addiction. The living amends is huge.

My name is John Z.I am a drug addict and have stopped using over 30 yrs. I could'nt stop the pain after Viet Nam of the hell I dealt with. I had 3 failed marriages and ptsd and the Veterans Adm. all they want to do is give more drugs that do not work.God is the higher power to survive this life. today i have 107 days clean and sober this have been a real hard challenge not to run away from my problems like i used to.. right now im on the edge of taking drugs again i feel alone and im suffering. i know that i gets better and somedays are better than others...and its all about doing the healthy and right things and be around good and healthy people but i didnt make it to the todays NA meeting and i regret it so bad i feel so alone and empty..and i needed to hear someone speak the truth

Hang in there brother hang in there you got the same disease I have pour over 30 years and it is not easy I am a fair believer at what they say the hard part is to get clean stay clean is a easy part I have 11 months on the pass I'm having a hard time staying sober relapse in 2009
Well-done, never let the mind too far into old negative patterns, there is an online 24 hour meeting that never stops day and night, google Marathon Narcotics Anonymous meeting, and join it and share what's going on for you,, so you are never alone again. Blessings, how are you now?

man if you're just starting out, and you're fortunate enough to trip onto Benji W. Somebody wants you to stick around... Powerful message. a level of honesty that most have alot of work to do to get. I know i wasn't able to be that honest when I got here. Give yourself a break and read some literature. they wrote a book about you, and me, for me and you, by us. Kermit is another NA speaker on here that is great start. Love you all one day at a time.

I got 19 days clean. Have been clean many times for a few months at most but today is finally day 1 of RECOVERY. THANK YOU GOD! I finally see what and who I truly am. Time to get to work
Hope you're still going Im on day 46 and came through the worst detox I've ever had. I relapsed back in 2021 the day before my 2 year mark, and went back out for 2 more years. I'm almost 40 and I've literally lost everything, my kids won't speak to me and all I have right now is my mom and girlfriend. Went to detox and rehab now back out in the real world and I'm scared to death right now... I think this is under my girlfriends email so sorry if it tricks you haha. But would love to hear if you're doing good still!!

Beautiful and this is wonderful. It is such a disease that is looked at as worse than adultery by society. Sad... but we have hope because this fellowship is what saves and helps out one day at a time.

James K Green well man, I was told when looking for a sponsor to pick someone of whom I'm attracted to their recovery. Your real sponsor is the guy that you love listening to, the guy that gives you the most hope. So in that respect your sponsor has already been selected. Just got to get over ourselves and ask. It counts for me, man. It’s really difficult for me to kick it. Lot of other folks too.
I use to think like this especially now it's legal but weed leads me directly back to the hard stuff. I can't do anything anymore it always leads to horrible places.
