This looks good. I've been putting a version of DoD together using community made maps along with utilizing the levels module, so the clocktower for instance is several maps stacked on top of each other rather than set side by side. It's certainly taken me a long time and it would have been easier to purchase this and not spend well over a hundred hours of my time lol.
I like this world. I like the videos of the Dudes and watched the whole first season of their actual play. Excellent work. OMG why don't I ever see these! Thank you! THANK YOU!!! Even if it is Sponsored. Thanks for being so THOROUGH with all these suggestions! 1. Were you given a preview copy or is this already out? 2. I'm a Foundry newbie so I am worried about all the missing links and stuff. So you would suggest that I get Phandelver for Foundry and try that one first? Is that free (or cheap for just Phandelver and not the extra book... and below)? 3. Do you have a tutorial for a new user that is trying to be proficient in Foundry enough to run a game? Or a link to one?
1. It's already out though the just kickstarted another book. 2. Phandelver is better for a beginner foundry user. Last I checked (if I'm remembering right) it was $29.99, but it's a good adventure and worth it for a beginner adventurer. I have a review of it on the channel too. 3. I am actually working on one to share in the next week or so. (Posting this 3/29). I just filmed it yesterday but it's a honking long video and it's taking a lot to edit haha Hope that helps!!
Foundry VTT has a learning curve. It does not take a long time to orient yourself to how things work, and there are tons of great video tutorials, however, troubleshooting bugs/issues, mastering the fine points of the canvas experience for players and how compendiums and asset libraries work requires some time investment. One of the unique challenges is understanding what your players can on a scene see versus what the DM can see. Finally…. Modules and system updates! There are 100s of fantastic modules, but you’ve got to keep up with changes, especially breaking changes. Last two thoughts: Keeping assets organized into a consistent folder structure way in front is key, and always using WEBP graphic formats to keep files small for loading is the last tip. Bottom line, no other VTT can touch foundry IMO. It is far away the best of the lot, but it is a bit of a time sink. lol
100% true. It can be a time sink, but once you get over the initial learning phase and set yourself up with organization (and I recommend limiting modules too to keep from having to update a million times), it's a really great tool.
Ghost fire gaming sells the digital maps that you can use in any game as long as you can up load images as maps. EDIT: You will have to do any lighting or walls yourself, these will just be images.

@@CantripsMedia So as I am listening, Abomination Vaults is your all time Foundry favorite?
I would say that my fav was the PF beginner box. But that's a very short adventure

I’m playing through that. It’s good!
It seems like it!!
I'm not sure why your Abomination Vaults Foundry instance looks so plain. Mine has the same styling as the book.
It could also be because I have two things loaded on the same world. Thanks for telling me i will run some tests and see if I can fix it haha
Can I pull this into a non 5E game? Just for the maps?
You should be able to: it's a module that is separate from the rule set. Meaning you could have a different ruleset on. But I haven't tested it myself

That's true too. There's a $9.99 pdf version that would just be images. It would involve set up but would work
No, you shouldn't.
Why's that?
