What are your thought on Stewart-Haas Racing shutting down after 2024?
It's just terrible.
Time to step up to the plate Keven
Time to learn Chinese SHR
@@nevysnova And how do you expect him to do that? He's already retired.
Don't care, Nascar lost me when CrashPatrick came aboard and all the focus of every race was on her...then along came Bubba...nuff said
He ain't lying about the #4 team holding things up. Dude carried the entire thing on his back in those later years.
And Larson would have carried them if Ford didn’t kill the deal
"4ever, 4ward, 4sale" 🤣
😂
Hahahahahahaha 😂😂😂😂😂
I shouldn't laugh at that but it is true.
That was cold coming from harvick lol
so savage
Harvick was their life support
No he wasn't Gene Haas not making enough money from F1 and nascar.
@@scottmaz4063Kevin was winning races for them when they had no right to be that good.
@@scottmaz4063false. Outside of Harvick the team was garbage.
He truly was.
They lost Busch and Hunt Brothers after he left.
Harvick carried this team from 2014-2020. Kevin Harvick, Rodney Childers, and the 4 team were THE powerhouse at SHR. Not SHR as a whole.
Childers was awful in race making dozens of race losing calls
The 41 car was good with Kurt Busch
@@Metal_junk it was okay, did he ever win more than 1 race in a year with SHR? Maybe once
2018 all four cars making the round of 8 was their peak as a whole
I honestly think Tony got sick of how nascar is just a big gimmick now. Also he has other interests. But nascar is not the well respected proper motorsport it used to be. I love it I watch it but it’s true. The points system and stage stuff and playoffs are just there for manufactured excitement for casual viewers
I knew it was over when Logano got fake hair.
You’re not wrong. NASCAR also did Tony wrong when they took the dirt race from Eldora. He put a lot of money into that facility to make it ready for NASCAR and they just kicked him in the junk for it. NASCAR needs Tony, not the other way around.
Dislike/Hate the stages. Just Effing race NaTCAR ! I started watching , well listening to Nascar with my Dad back when it was radio only. Its not the same anymore, especially since Dale Sr passed. I watch Daytona and Taladega
Yeah… doing poorly for years (other than Kevin) has nothing to do with it. Tony is taking a stand, that’s what it is.
@@Commentleaver-c6x JImmy Spencer had it before he did.
Not keeping Kurt Busch in the 41 car was a terrible idea. He was a threat for the championship (was eliminated from the final 4 at Phoenix when Hamlin took him out in his last race in the car). He made the playoffs all 5 years in the car, won 6 races including the Daytona 500, 37 Top 5's, 90 Top 10's. In the 6 years since Kurt left, that 41 car has 23 top 10's and has made the playoffs once (Custer won the '20 Kentucky race). Tony didn't want him the car to begin with (it was Gene's call) and he and Harvick have never got along going back to the early 2000's. So they put Suarez, then Custer, then Preece in the car to run around near the back for 6 years.
"If he's gonna lose I think he'd rather lose in F1 than NASCAR" 💀💀💀
That's what Haas does in F1 is lose, all the time.
It’s way more lucrative for Haas to lose in F1 as the Ferrari B side.
To be fair there’s more money in F1 than nascar and it takes more money to run in F1 oh and also F1 hates Americans
The FIA approved Andretti today, but they have to buy a team. Haas F1 is for sale.
@LilSebastian_ Andretti was all ready approved to try to get into F1 for 2028 the FIA president only said Andretti should buy a team. Haas F1 isn't for sale Haas's Nascar team Stewart Haas Racing is.
Tony checked out and that was it. It was obvious watching him go away to follow the mrs and drag racing.
At 1:08 Kevin said EXACTLY what I was thinking when I read the announcement. My thoughts were "Huh, I guess that big TH-cam pep-talk video with the dramatic lighting at SHR HQ in the beginning of the year was B.S."
Yeah Tony up there acting like everyone was picking on him. What a liar lol
He wwbt to a better sport nascar is fickim trash now
Even though Haas F1 sucks, they got approx $60 million for finishing last. And if Gene is smart, he’ll sell his F1 team to Andretti and walk away with a huge profit
No don't sell Haas F1 team its actually in the points now
Gene is a billionaire already. I don’t think he cares about profits. He already has the money.
@@seanprice9701quarter billionaire. We also don't know if he has a silent partner in Haas f1
@@BobbyGeneric145 I don’t think he has any partners
Ever since the cost cap and new revenue model, owning an F1 team is basically like owning a money printer. There's no reason to sell the team. F1 should have thought of this before they put these new rules in place. Even the crappy teams are profitable...
Kevin and the 4 team were holding it together more than we thought
I’m sad. I have watched SHR since I was a kid. So many drives so many wins and losses. Going to miss seeing the 4 10 14 and 41 drive for SHR
It was never Stewart-Haas Racing. From 2014 to 2023, it was Harvick Racing
If you wanna keep the SHR labeling, you could call it Stewart-Harvick Racing.
Not really form 2014 but from 2019

Anyone else remember when Ford blocked Larson from coming to SHR?
To be entirely honest with you, Larson isn't as good as everyone thinks he is. He still makes a lot of mistakes, his gimmick for his entire time with Ganassi was riding the outside lane for almost the entire race (until it inevitably bit him every time he tried it), and in 2021, he was almost literally waved to the front of the field by practically every team that didn't have the name "Hendrick" on the fender as HMS didn't have a parts freeze, while everyone else did.
NASCAR worked up a Larson "redemption" story arc to demonstrate that he was only capable of becoming a champion after going through NASCAR reeducation camp. And to be honest with you, the trouble that got Larson fired to begin with wasn't something that an intelligent driver...or anyone else for that matter...says while performing live, so we're supposed to assume that he's smart enough to be the best driver out there?
Larson is indeed awesome in a dirt car, however, and I think he gave up a brilliant career as a World of Outlaws driver.
Have fun when the racing format is fun. Nascar's format is go and slow,go and slow, go and stop. Let's not forget the mandatory cautions, the many many cautions.
The fact that tony stewart is walking on nascar is an enormous statement. There was a time when giving up on an established multicar team in nascar just would not happen.
Don’t blame them at all. Hard to love someone when they don’t love you back. NASCAR doesn’t care about anyone other than NASCAR. If you have a voice the quiet u up and fine you.
This announcement should be a surprise to know one. If you ever watched Tony Stewart interviews with Kyle Petty, Kenny Wallace or a couple others, he was pretty unhappy with the direction NASCAR was going. NASCAR has become garbage to watch. As all these big personalities have left, so to has the fans. But,the suit's in the office in Daytona have become too smug and arrogant to understand.
This should tell you the current state of Nascar . Fans have left , Sponsors have left and now Big Teams are leaving the Sport
Fox has a lot to due for Nascars lack of interest.
Well, Tony made it very clear he was not happy with Ford or NASCAR for awhile now. Ford wouldn't field a car for Kyle Larson, and NASCAR was penalizing the team for issues with getting enough parts to race with all the one vendor parts supply problems. And, Tony wasn't happy with the product of NASCAR anymore. I mean, NASCAR makes winning the only thing that matters now, but Kevin won 9 races one year (like 4 more than any other driver that year), and didn't win the championship. I enjoy watching a race, but the point system sucks and it's that is too much "This is an event now, not a race." going on now. I only came back to NASCAR after 15 years, so I could watch Kevin's last season.
Ford passing on Larson was a HUGE mistake on their part
Larson is still a liability. Its not if, but when the big crash comes. He been very lucky a lot of times. He races A LOT
Larson would not have won with ford team Hendrick was the perfect spot, Larson could clearly see the difference between the teams
@@jimward8331I don’t think so. Larson can win in anything he drives.
nothing like with Hendricks equipment
Stewart & Haas cashing out that 100M worth of Charters while the gettin still good.
Too much uncertainty in NASCAR to not sell.

Thank you, Stewart Haas Racing 🫡
Stewart just didn't care... all the management spin can't hide that!
Stewart cared more about racing than NASCAR does. NASCAR only cares about money. There needs to be a balance and NASCAR doesn't get it.
Good for Tony I am not renewing my tickets anymore because nascar sucks

Big blow to Nascar... they need to change this sport in a big way, and fast, or there won't be a Nascar left
The Eldora thing of a cup race at Bristol, kinda rubbed Tony the wrong way!
Wow, Harvick didn't mince any words and tells it like it is.
It was still a diplomatic response.
I think Smoke's been PO at Nascar for some time
Tony hates Nascar politics, always has. He even started his own racing series FFS.
Stewart's drag racing is in his interest ,and it's expensive, but less drama. The NASCAR rules and regulations are just ridiculous and he decided to I'm out.

Gene and Tony are very talented businessman. They see the future of nascar and are getting out. It’s just that simple. NASCAR hardly ever sells out, however did anyone take notice of the stands at the Indy race, standing room only.
The all star race was joke and the 600 wasn't much better..
I remember when Texas motor speedway would be sold out. Stands on the backstretch were full. Front stretch was mostly empty the last race i saw on tv. The France family has totally destroyed nascar for the racing fan. I will not go to a race anymore. Hardly ever watch on tv.
NASCAR not the same it sucks now only two teams really running up front almost every race
Very sad to see SHR coming to an end.
I know Kevin and Tony were always good friends and there are some thing ls lately that make me wonder if they still or not. I get it is just public business and they may not take things said personally and keep it separate. But Kevin making the comment about talking to hendrick twice in two weeks and some comments here make me just wonder that’s all
Tony forgot, bros before ho's... He chose Leah🤷🏻
yea he was calling them quitters. They are. they could have at least sold it as one too keep peoples jobs secured.
He said was pretty much pointing the environment at HMS , and how far different it is than from SHR , and how basically Rick Hendrick , Jeff Gordon , Chad Knaus are very direct within all their organization ( as owners of their team they should ) , where as in SHR that support wasn’t there from Gene or Tony
But HMS has always had interest in Kevin Harvick anyways , had it been for Kasey kahne leaving out nascar in 2017 ( year when SHR switched to ford ) Kevin for sure would’ve been in the #5 in HMS that season and perhaps possibly retiring with them
Also he did race for JR Motorsports in xfinity which
is under the umbrella of HMS , With Dale Jr owning the team and Rick Hendrick owning partial stake of the team
Tony has some responsibility to bare for , on neglecting his team anything past 2021 ( which is when he started investing in nhra 2022 - to present now ) , but as far on the politics of nascar and especially last season SHR got a lot of penalties, I don’t blame and agree with him on that regard and aspect on the politics on how he feels as an team owner towards nascar
So it’s an half and half on Tony’s end
Stewart has been hinting about this happening for a while now so I'm not really surprised if it happens.
harvick is the man!,
not a fan in the past, didn't hate on him either..
but much respect now!!
and a great broadcaster.
and I met his grandpa once in iowa..very nice guy
I bet the team is losing tons of money loseing Smithfield and busch were the big blows
I can tell Harvick knew about this looooooong ago. I’ve never been a name person, but a face person.
My company announced they would be closing in 18 months. A lot of people didn't come back the next morning. It felt like working in a morgue thereafter.
From 4Ever to 4Ward to 4Sale. That was a clever line
This is NASCAR as a whole. It won’t be the last team to shut down and it certainly wasn’t the first. Sometimes change is good and then there’s Nascar. Dog and pony Chit show.
Hasn't been the same sense August 2014. Difficult to recover from something like that.
Could you imagine that even this weekend that SHR has no car to put on track because the people who built these cars just left.
I can’t stand how nascar is being raced now with stage and playoffs. I think it’s ridiculous.
It is.
Looks like Tony Stewart is focused on drag racing and let the Nascar go.
Kurt Busch seen the writing on the wall and got gone
Yeah he barely left this mess 🙄 left like 4/5 before they said they were closing doors. Back in 2018/19 there was NO sign or SHR closing doors. So your statement is absolutely dumb.
Uhhh Didn't Kurt leave because of medical issues? I really don't think he wanted to step away from SHR and if it was because he saw the writing on the wall then why didn't he just go to another team? He's a very talented driver that builds up every team he's on.
@@ducktails1695 Kurt left the year before last, yes due to medical reasons, but he left SHR went to ganassi and then to 23xi where he retired.
Lack of performance for several years will do that to a team. Can't run up front without big sponsors and they all left!
Stewart and Hass are done with Asscar's BS
Is there a Asscar tshirt out there hahah
this is NHRA's gain and NASCAR 's loss
Too bad nobody cares about NHRA racing....
SHR only lasted as long as Harvick raced. When Harvick retired it was writing on the wall. Truly a shame. Most will find a spot in Nascar and some will be gone. Will be interesting to see where the drivers end up. RIP SHR.
Maybe some big teams should get together and break away like what happened to Indy car about 20 years ago
Well what happened in Indy Car was a lot different.
The breakaway was actually from USAC in 1979.
Only reason it didn't work out in the end because they didn't own the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
So in 1996 Tony George started the IRL(Indy Racing League).
And the speedway took back control of the cars and rules of the cars racing in the Indianapolis 500.
The problem would be that NASCAR owns a bunch of the tracks they race at and owns Daytona International Speedway where the Daytona 500 is at
Yeah and that was an absolute disaster for open wheel racing in America. It would be extremely dumb to so and wouldn't benefit either party.
I think a huge part of it is NASCAR is not worth struggling for these. Why would they put forth the work, dedication and effort to compete in a clown show like NASCAR?
Harvick carried SHR at times...
3 things
Harvick retired, inbev ab left, Smithfield left... it's been coming
Tbf inbev has their own problems, like their 30% drop in sales over a year later 😂😂
I am very sad 😔
who's the guy on the left?
This will not be the last team to leave
Wow dude
Rodney and Noah sweepstakes are gonna be great
you can't dismiss tony's disillusion with the sanctioning body. We just heard from Jeff Gordon that no one is even turning a profit. F1 is now massively profitable, so you can't really blame him for favoring that. The way the charter negotiations seem to be going for the teams, it all makes a ton of sense to me, they didn't see a light at the end of the tunnel with this thing, its not just about their team's performance. Yes they were also in a strained relationship with Ford and that didn't help, but this is bigger than that.

"Those who doubt us dont know what we do" - SHR
When the #4 was busted for window tampering, it turned to a barrel rolling downhill for SHR
Done with NASCAR since 2014. I live in Bristol and we had season tickets for decades. Too bad. What a good time it used to be...drivers coming out to the tailgate parties, Pabst beer stickers on the hood...
Tony has stated many times he doesn’t like the direction nascar is going, and I agree 100%. I used to watch every race, in every division. I hardly watch it at all anymore, and don’t really care at all. The fans have been telling nascar what we don’t like for years. The stages, the “playoffs”, the spec cars (not “stock” cars) etc, and nascar has consistently told us that we are wrong. I don’t blame Tony one bit. The NHRA is a much, much better product. Always has been, always will be.
Stewart and Haas saw previous teams get screwed by Nascar. Stealing a Sponsor from a team and making it exclusively a series sponsor is pure low class business etiquette. A "LEADER" is not supposed to do this. Respectfully, those In the sport Including media will not speak openly about this , understandably so, they would get the same treatment as now defunct teams. I hope Stewart tells the TRUE story after the Season ends.
Oh , he will

NADCAR blows.. Would love to se them start up an Indy Car team
They should have already started one years ago.
Chip Ganassi got out of NASCAR too

It's is very sad
Don't blame Tony a bit. I grew up a huge NASCAR and I live close to Talladega but this sport just isn't good anymore. So glad I found Indycar and IMSA. I doubt I'll ever watch another NASCAR race.
You won't miss anything, what they run today isn't NASCAR.
F1, Monaco, they wrecked both team cars in turn 7 of lap 1, and a very expensive Redbull. I think they threw up their hands and went, this isn't fun anymore. Can't blame them. K.H. was a key piece to the winning side after T. S. but it wasn't winning like it was. The F1 side is a total disaster and the switch to Ford on the NASCAR side wasn't brilliant. MHO.
Tony is to SHR what Dale Sr. was to DEI. Once the figurehead personality leaves, there's just no direction and morale.
Exactly! Leadership failed this team and its employees! It makes all the work they did around Kevin’s retirement and “4ward” look like a joke now. No sympathy for Tony and Gene.
Tony Stewart lost interest in Nascar... .....he doesn't agree with what goes on. So why would he invest his money in a product he doesn't like?
I don’t know who to pull for next year. SHR kept me interested in nascar.

Hey Kevin, How about Willie T Ribbs?Just saying. From Bob Staggs Los Garos CA.
So harvick pretty much admitted tony Stewart and Gene Haas were not committed owners and him and that #4 team kept SHR above water with the wins they were getting especially in 2020. Its just funny to me barely half way through the first season without harvick SHR says they are shutting down. I understand tony doesn't think highly of nascar hes made that known. But Gene Haas shouldnt have gotten into F1. Him and his team hasnt won a single race in F1. If gene haas was smart he would have stuck to nascar. At least hes won races and 2 cup championships in NASCAR. Hes just wasting time and money with F1
Finishing last pays 60+ million, cost cap is 150 million (I doubt they spend more than 50 million a year) being in F1 is literally making him money. Thanks to the cost cap it's no longer the money pit it used to be, a lot of the teams actually turn a profit now
@@anareel4562 they are wasting money. They only placed points in 4 grand prixs and a sprint race. So if they aren't getting better equipment or getting better as a team wheres the money going? Because some of that $60 million should have went to the NASCAR side knowing haas operates on a lower budget than most F1 teams. So once again SHR could have invested $5-$10 million in SHR. But no SHR failing and shutting down falls on Tony Stewart and gene haas' lack of commitment and financial irresponsibility.
