Watching replays with telemetry is indeed so crucial to becoming better. Not only you notice things like positioning, braking points etc., but you can also understand what that driver gained from their tune, compared to yours. Even changing your final drive can move you up significantly on a leaderboard.
This is my first forza, playing on xbox.... how/ where do I learn about tuning? I know jack shit. Please help
Someone liked my comment, but didn't help 😔 😢 😪
@@ericstowe8285check out hokihoshi. Watch his series of how to tune. Watch the tuning playlist for Horizon 4&5 even if you don't play those because you will learn a lot.
@@ericstowe8285 Probably because they have the same question/problem. So they Like your post because THEY want an answer as well.
That way not EVERYONE has to post the same question/problem.
I love the new changes to rivals and how you can just keep lapping and the game will update the rival as you drive.
Once again coming in with some solid tips and tricks.
Just a nod and a thank you to the previous vid, your advice on the controller setup for a new FM player (im considering myself to be this because of how long its been for me) was actually helpful and made me stop and think about all the little things i might be missing.
Thanks for the tips, they are great! Hope to see some complete beginner stuff like hot to break on corners
Great tips. Thanks! Keep this series going!
Great tip! Keep this series going!
I will definitely try some of the tips and tricks you have share in these 2 videos to continue having the upper hand on my mates :D
Nice content man, love it! Keep it up!
Great videos so far man.
Love the vids Devon
Nice one bud, great tips
great vids quick and informative
I was at a big plateau on the Rivals VIP race. Stuck hard at 1:39.. I absolutely love racing games, but was getting very frustrated at lack of progression despite endless laps. 1 tip of yours alone (watch #1 player then run a few laps) was all i needed to almost instantly become 2 seconds faster and pass roughly 5k people. Thank you truly
Glad to hear it, congrats
@@JustDevon thanks. And thanks for making the content you do :)
Dankie vir die tips
The tuning does help quite a bit, when I did the rival event with the KTM I felt the car was sliding about a lot for me so I fixed up the handling and found time compared to the previous laps I did in the stock version.
Is it possible to tune while in a rivals event? I see the banner that tuning will invalidate time, but I can’t find a way to tune in a rivals event like I can in freeplay
@@wesd3370if you hit pause and finish your race you can tune from the menu just before your next rivals race. It does mark the first lap invalid, but I usually use the first lap to get a feel for the car anyway after tuning or you can hit pause again and simply hit Skip lap and it will start you on a fresh lap with your new tune with a rolling start
@@wesd3370 yeah, what I did was come out of the rival event, select the car from the my cars bit and tune it from there and saved the tune before resetting the car to its default settings and then going to the event and selecting the tune car option.
@@Graham6410 Yeah, that is what I do as well. It is just strange that it has that message about invalidating your lap time, but doesn't let you tune like you can in Free Play.
*As you can tell by my time, I’m no good here” SIR YOU ARE 45TH out of 12K players. That’s pretty fucking good 😒
The average player atm is incredibly low skilled cus of gamepass, top 20 is considered good
Time off #1 is the problem. Over 2 seconds is a long time
@@ESV_Green Excuuuuse me! I guess my standards are just low lol.
bruh i am buzzing getting top 300 🤣🤣🤣🤣@@JustDevon
Would you consider doing a video on how to lean where to break when coming off breaking line?
help a lot, thanks
thank you
The tunes you have saved are in
"My tunes" but they have no car picture. Go to the bottom of the list, you will see stat changes occurring but no pic of the car. Hope it gets fixed soon.
Yeah none of the tune setups download or save properly atm
I’ve been looking everywhere to see where the tune is from the leaderboard once downloaded but does not show is this a known bug
How you get to see others ghost race? When I go to watch replay there's no chase camera ?
Where do you go to view the replay of a rival car? I only see the option to view the replay of myself.
This is great content. I managed to make it to 54th in the world for this class A rivals event at maple valley but I just cannot find more time no matter what I do. I’ve been tuning for days and the car feels amazing. But somehow I have to find 3 more seconds to reach number 1.. even with the same car and same tune… he’s just impossible to catch 😢 I’m doing everything shown here and now practicing trail braking.. I’m doing something wrong and I’m determined to figure it out!
Tough track to master
@@JustDevonI’m really fast in the first half, then i pass the bridge and lose 10 seconds
One bit of advice from this video put me from top 20 in the world on most tracks to top 5 in the world on all tracks. Ive never been a track limits tester because I find it looks untidy but using that option has gained me lots of time. I do rivals in class S & R if anyone wants to displace me on the leaderboard. APEX is the name and OVERDOSE ing on them is the game.
Didn’t ask don’t care
Is it considered good to be top 1% in FH3 which I haven't played in years since my xbox broke and I used automatic no assists. If I get a new xbox and fm would I be around top 5%
Bigger thing for me is how far off the pace, not necessarily the %
I run d class rivals in a CRX with a Logitech g920. The CRX is currently top 40 in the world in 5 tracks.
I got the CRX to level 50 from stock with only rivals mode
Beeing no. 45 on world leaderboard is actually not bad at all
Jesus seeing someone who is 45th when you tried your soul out to be 250th is a super feels fucking bad moment :/ Nothing demoralizes quite like racing games tbh. I often times wonder why I still play this genre tbh lol
I guess you've never played fighting games, Mobas, or even shooters. High level competition really can be tough to swallow. But, on the flip side, when you really work hard and see progress, it can feel so rewarding.
Hey keep at it and you will improve. Don’t feel disheartened, if you put the practice in you will become faster and faster in no time
there is always someone better than you at something, jus have fun brother.
How much faster is a controller compared to wheel on rivals? And if I’m on a wheel would it be pointless watching telemetry of top drivers who are all using controller as it basically has completely different handling physics, and are tuning setups that are based on those physics?… wish they had an icon indicating whether using wheel or controllet
you'll be fine, controller or not, if you watch their replay and set them as a ghost you will get faster regardless. With enough track time and fine tuning you can get faster lap times
I just tested this actually. Here's my conclusion: this event was tricky on controller, but it was the most difficult thing I've ever done in a racing game on wheel. My times were quite similar, but I crashed off about a million times before I could actually complete a lap.
I found that traction control had to be on because the ease of spinning is incredibly high, and the trade off with that is traction control is really easy to get bogged down by, so I had to work at the wheel on the exits of corners to stop that from happening.
So in conclusion: wheel is improved in this game, and could give you similar times to controller, but at the price of crashing a whole lot more.
@@JustDevonthanks for trying. I think this car just spins easily, it’s the hardest on traction that I’ve tried so far.
Anyway I can only manage into 2.06s with a wheel with or without TCS, so have no idea if a 2.02 or 2.03 is even possible with a wheel. If you got close then maybe it is
Is the controller the better option?
And 3rd person view ?
I still haven't tried the wheel yet, but I hear it's pretty close to controller now. Camera angle is just personal preference
Can't say much about wheel vs controller. But the view is personal preference. Now that we can finally adjust FOV, I'm feel like I'm more consistent in the cockpit view with a correct FOV. For online racing, I still prefer the 3rd person view because the game lacks a radar and virtual mirrors in cockpit view
Has anyone tested discrepancies in lap times between 30fps, 60fps, and uncapped?
I'm around half a second faster with 60fps.
Are you using ABS now??
Yeah, absolutely no handicap to my times and feeling more confident
@@JustDevonBased
How do you get that many fps pal? What GPU and processor you got?
Ryzen 7 5700X, Radeon 5700. The 100+ seems to be a glitch, I've got it set to 60 v sync and it sits at 71/72 constantly, but on this occasion it was unlimited for some reason and when I restarted the game it was back to 71/72
I done over 2000 laps while sleeping in Forza how does it compare me versus them? 💀
I tried to level afk on multiple cars but every time it goes the car goes off track after a couple laps. Any tips?
so basically the same old tips as for every other FM and other semi-sims throughout the years
aweeeee shot for the video
bru!
FPS is not locked to 60 fps in rivals on PC??? Console gamers are disadvantage. You do better times in 120 fps than in 60 fps
Now do that on a wheel.
would he be much faster on a wheel?
@@asdowo111no I wouldn't
@@asdowo111like i said. Do that on a wheel. I very seriously doubt it.
Why would he do that? Whats your point? Are you good?
@@Kahfjdkaj my point is the game is much easier on controller. If he can do that on a wheel, then i would be impressed.
Loved rivals. But the new mode triggers me. No replays you can see, no lists sorted by cars, which makes no sense at all.
Do you mean there's no division leaderboards?
I mean that there is no opportunity to show track results by cars. only the overall times are listed. And on the xbox i cant see the replays from the other drivers.@@JustDevon
Devon back on Forza 🥲 what a time to be alive
