South Korea is not an exclusive Christian country, unlike the Philippines or any European Christian country.
Buddhism in South Korea is widespread and striking.. Foundation of Korean culture is Buddhist. Population wise if you add the number of Atheists ( disbelievers in
God) to the number of Buddhists in South Korea, the total number exceeds the number of Korean Christians.
The rapid closure of Christian Churches in the thousands in Europe in these times is also having an impact on Korean Christianity. The original missionaries of Christianity in Korea were Europeans. Now they are decamping Christianity in the West, leading to a state of crisis within Christianity in other countries, including South Korea. The earlier enthusiasm for Christianity is 😊no longer the case in South Korea.
