    To make an even deeper point. This video does well to mentally transform us to a time when America was truly BAD ASS.
    For this…invaluable experience…I thank you.

    Loved the presentation was it really 1949 I would hsve been 3 years old. The 49 to 51 fleetline is my favorite car of all. I guess that was a tape playing do cool!! Thank you.

    Love it!!! Prettiest car ever. My grandfather had a '49 Chevy for years. Always loved the clock, radio, steering wheel, dash. Then in 1974 I bought a 1950 Chevy which I drove for 17 years. Sure miss it. I'd love to grab the one you show. Thanks!!!

    Someone said it below, Fleetline wasn't a coupe. The Styleline came in a coupe. You can spot a coupe by the noticeably smaller backseat side windows, the roof line being much shorter and therefore the trunk lid longer. The coupe was a Styleline 2 door car. Not to be confused with the Styleline 2 door sedan. And not a Fleetline. I love the Chevy Fleetline you've got there...! Cheers.

    Thank you--I almost skipped this, in my search for original films, but this was well worth the stop. I learned thins I have not seen elsewhere. Glad you left it up.

    My Father had a 49 Oldsmobile (we got annoyed with him, we liked the Chevy model); going on our yearly Mecca trip to Ohio, the Olds died, and he and his brother went out to buy a car, they showed up with 1936 Buick Pheaton complete with running boards and wooden spoke wheels, it was beautiful, when we returned to N.Y. he traded for a 1953 Buick and $100.00 dollars, this was back in 1955, I know because that was the year I first heard Elvis on the radio.

    in answer to John Powell: The knob with the T, is a throttle. Sort of a cruise control for people in Kansas or central Illinois

    you did "fenomenal",,the added touch looks like it belong there,,(just my 2 cents) maybe you can get some metal shop to help you terminate the 2 strips down from the Chevy emblem to the lip of the hood,,no matter I love those slanted (cucaracha look) 49 to 52 i think..THAT WAS STYLING FROM FACTORY!!!

    Nice resto job even with the period correct additions. I have a 49. However. all fleetlines are sedans, not coupes, no matter how many doors they have.

    I have one question what is the knob with the T mine seems to be stuck

    • @geodavid51
      @geodavid51 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      "T" was for throttle. Let you set the idle speed or (God forbid) use it like a cruise control.
