I'm usually not a fan of blue dials myself, but this deep dark one was really beautiful. There are a couple of Seiko 5s with dark blue dials (ie SNXS77), but this one might be even darker.
I can recommend upgrading the folded metal bracelet to Seiko 48A2JG solid metal bracelet (22mm tapers to 20mm). It tapers less than the original bracelet, but it gives more solid feel to the watch and it makes the watch look a little bit chunkier, which I like ☺️
Planning to get this as my first Seiko watch. I was honestly trying to find a SNX79 but the model in the video caught my eye instead it was also at a pretty decent discount so as of now I'm still contemplating whether I should buy it or keep searching for what I intended to purchase (SNX79).

Can you get leather straps or bracelets for a watch like this that has an integrated bracelet? I have a Seiko just like this and it does have lugs but are very small at just 12mm
Hi! Good question. My guess is that you need it custom made if you want one. But sure, I think someone could make a strap so it fits and looks nice. No idea about prices tho..
Hello I have a 6.1inch wrist, would the bracelet fit me because I heard you said you can’t resize it with this watch. I really appreciate if you can reply. Thanks
I think this is a misunderstanding. You CAN adjust the size, but the bracelet is integrated, so switching it to a leather or nylon strap is difficult or requires custom work. So yes, it will fit a 6,1 inch wrist :)
Hey man, I love the video, where did you buy this watch from because I wanna purchase one but, idk how trustworthy the company “watchnation” is, I don’t wanna spend all my hard earned money on a fake if ygm, or get scammed.
Yeah integrated bracelets are a bummer in that matter. I’ve been thinking about trying to modify a leather strap to a case like this to see if it works. Could be a nice video too..
Personally dislike the bezel. I don’t think it fits well with the watch. Even though its etched on, It looks like it was drawn on with a fine liner or something and makes a cheap watch look cheaper imo. Nice video though Anders, look forward to more
I’ve never seen it in person but looks interesting. But I do think that it has a little bit of an identity crisis since the style is pretty sporty but then the colors are kind of ”fancy”.
@@NordicWatchChannel I agree with you, Lind of contradiction between demise and sporty. I finally found s blue dial one at a decent price. Greetings and Salutations from Vietnam!
In this case you need to make or order a custom made leather strap. I have been thinking of trying that myself by just cutting up a leather strap. If you can modify a leather strap by cutting up the part where the spring bar goes so that its the same widths as the hole for the strap, it should be ok..
Hmm I actually don't remember whether it had "normal" push-pin links or the classic Seiko 5 folded link. I think it was the latter of those two. In that case, watch this video that I've made about that :) Should be a pretty good tutorial! th-cam.com/video/Au9G3V_tVG4/w-d-xo.html
Hi! This one was a ”k” version so probably made in malaysia. Should also be available a as a ”j” version that’s made in Japan :) So that’s SNKD99K1 versus SNKD99J1. Not sure if thelast number is 1 in thiscase but that’s irrelevant.
That’s an interesting way of looking at it! Now that you’ve said it, I somwhat agree😁 So far it’s been a nice summer watch! With something like shorts, sneakers and a t-shirt.

Same here! Yes, the SNXS77 and also the SNKL43! I don’t know how they are compared to this one tho.. only seen this one in person :)

So this bracelet will fit this ref model?
@@MrT9822 yes it does
Will this fit my SEIKO 5 SNKE01K1?
@@tristancapistrano5253 Yes it will. SNKE01K1 has the same case than SNKD99

I think both are great choices, just go with your gut feeling and I'm sure you'll be happy with your choice :)

What is the wrist size range for this bracelet? Will it work on 15cm wrist?
I'm sure you can remove enough links for it to fit a 15cm wrist :)
Mind blowing indeed !!!
Ftw!

Hi! I tend to use Amazon, skywatches and creationwatches for these affordable old Seiko 5’s :) I haven’t heard of watchnation
what i do not like from this watch is its lug type, can not be replaced with leather.
Yeah integrated bracelets are a bummer in that matter. I’ve been thinking about trying to modify a leather strap to a case like this to see if it works. Could be a nice video too..
@@NordicWatchChannel can not wait to watch that... thanks
The integrated bracelet ruined it for me. It'd look so much better on a nato strap.
Fair point! You could try to customize a nato strap for it though :)

I see what you mean! I also thought that the numbers were printed on before I took a closer look, it looks like it! Thank you that means a lot!
You are wrong. That bezel is perfect with the dial. This imo is the best looking Seiko 5
Do you like the demigold version?

Looks like it wears larger than it's 37mm diameter. Which is a good thing.
It wears really nice for its size! In my opinion the perfect size for a 6,5 inch wrist.
Is it easy to take links out of the bracelet? I don't have really wide wrists so i'llprobably have to

It's a shame it has that odd bracelet, watch would be a strap monster!
That's true! It's a shame that I've sold this one already. I would be interested to try and modify a leather strap by cutting it to fit the lugs..
can we rotate the bezel?
The bezel on this watch is fixed unfortunately :/

It takes some getting used to. I quite like it! But everyone has different preferences :)
Talking about bang for buck! Beautiful sporty dress watch!
Yep this is a really nice and sporty package for not a lot of cash!
Too sporty for a dressy watch and too dressy for a utilitarian one... Not my taste, mate.
