  • Processing, care and handling is a huge part of my job. I've cut 40 minutes of work down to an 11 minute video so you can see me move in lightning speed!

Thank you for showing this ❤ My dream is to be a Florist everywhere wants experience in order to work so I’m going to look into classes and educate myself with books and videos, create my own arrangements and make a portfolio until I’m able to get in ❤ looking for any certificate programs or classes as well.

Also, apply to work in a shop as a driver or salesperson. That’s the best way to get your foot in the door.

Three questions... What are you adding in in the water? and do you always use cool water? How do you take care of your hands?

I have a system they automatically adds the right amount of floralife express 300 to the water I use for processing flowers. It contains citric acid to lower the ph, a little sugar to feed the flowers and a food grade anti fungal agent. When I started out in the industry, the standard was to use warm water, but over time we’ve discovered that warm water breeds more bacteria and can shorten the vase life of flowers. There are still some flowers that can use a warm water shock before their final cut into water with the flower food in it. Sometimes hollow flowers like dahlias and very water sensitive flowers like hydrangea can benefit from that treatment. As far as my hands go, I’m just lucky. I break a few nails here and there especially during busy holiday seasons, but I’ve had long nails since I was a toddler, so I don’t know how to live without them. I also use a hand cream with an antibacterial agent in it that is used in nursing homes 😂
