You’re talking about the company who refused to respect William’s wish not to take up more than X amount of space on the poster. It’s why he didn’t voice the genie until King of Thieves. An executive had to offer an original Picasso to get back on his good side.
@@mondenkindqueen actually they did comply with the Genie taking up the requests amount of space on the poster…except they cheated around it and the Genie was on top of the poster but still only took up the promised amount of space
The Genie + needs to be higher around $150. It will make the the stand by line go much faster, when no one purchases it.

@@yoopergamer2121Yes. And when people do purchase it, it is a pass…you don’t need to schedule a return time. You literally purchase an Express pass and use it when and where you want. This will allow regular standby to move more efficiently. Win for those who opt not to purchase and an actual value for those who do. The lines for both standby AND Genie + are ridiculous.
In theory that would work, but in real life, it would still be bought by plenty of people and not help much.
If Genie+, Lightning lane and fastpasses didn't exist, the lines would've moved faster like they did in the old days. 😩

People may not realize all the rides are actually free. Genie+ is a way to not wait in line as long to ride them. 😉

Absolutely zero sympathy for anyone who gets hurt at a theme park because THEY broke rules, went into areas off limits, exited when they weren't supposed to, or were purposely defacing or destroying park property.
I mean, I get it. But it's a child we're talking about... It a completely preventable situation, but it's lamentable a kid got hurt due to parental negligence

While I of course don’t blame Disney for the kid forcing themself out of the Zootopia ride restraint, I am kind of surprised that the ride vehicles don’t have some sort of proximity sensors or something. Many other rides will automatically stop the instant someone gets out of their vehicle.
I’ve been to multiple restaurants with robot servers. You need to go to the restroom or whatever, they stop. They may be in your way, or their sensitivity is set too high so they never move unless everyone is seated, but if random restaurants in the US have that technology, shouldn’t Disney?
They turned it off cos the guests in mainland China kept throwing trash onto the ground that triggered the sensor

That poor kid. I don’t think its been confirmed whether or not they rode with an adult, but it should go without saying you don’t leave a kid unattended on a ride. This kind of thing happens at my local theme park because people just assume their seven year old is mature enough to ride rides alone- I wouldn’t be surprised if thats what happened here :(
At this point they should just bring back ticket books. That's where we are headed. Paying for every single ride.
If that ever happens, knowing Disney they’ll force you to buy a day admission to actually get in the park. Then $250+ for a ticket book in order to actually ride the rides
I loathe Genie+, and Lightning Lane. Fast Pass was so much better.

I know that some people have complained that the new, curvy design of the replacement Tokyo Space Mountain is not as iconic as the original, more angular one. The real problem, I believe, has less to do with the design and more of how it blends into the rest of Tomorrowland. The plaza out front of the show building plays a key role in trying to integrate the two, but I think we can all agree that the new aesthetic would better compliment "Tron: Lightcycle Run" at the Magic Kingdom or Shanghai. While I acknowledge the historicity of the Magic Kingdom's Space Mountain, I wish this new Space Mountain was being built there instead of Tokyo. The reason I feel this way, of course, is that Disney plopped Tron: Lightycycle Run into the Magic Kingdom with no thought given to how it would blend into the existing Tomorrowland aesthetic. The Oriental Land Company does Disney better than Disney itself, and this Space Mountain project is yet another example of how Disney has short-changed the US parks while prioritizing overseas investment.
They need to either jack Genie+ up to like $150+ or cut the service altogether. The standby lines do not move any more, and I'm over it. If we're stuck with FastPass-like systems, then I much prefer Universal's approach where the prices are so high that the ratios are much more forgiving to us standby peasants. 4:1 is completely ridiculous, but I've seen it lots of times at Disney parks.
At this point, Disney should just return to its original ticketing system: charge a reasonable, flat rate to enter the park, then charge a separate fee per attraction. Then people can at least enjoy the park atmosphere without having to pay for attractions they can't ride due to all the Lightning Lane guests. 😢
I wouldn't be at all surprised if Epic Universe implemented a system where guests can pay to enter specific lands and not others, given the unique layout of the park.
If you lose something on a ride, just ask a cast member when you get off, this is how I got my magicband back when it fell off on the Speedway at MK.

Microtransactions are meant for free to play mobile games. They're meant to generate revenue for crappy games that require one finger to play. They're not meant for the most popular theme park resort in the world.

You’re not buying genie+ to “keep up with the joneses.” You’re buying just to be able to ride the rides you want without having to wait in ridiculous lines. My husband and I didn’t buy it on principle the first year, and, despite going in January and going to early entry, we waited in line for THREE hours to get on avatar and the safari. After that, we were so pissed off, we left the park.
And,mute thing is, you still can’t ride all the rides you want to ride, even with Genie+.
Where were the PARENTS of the kid getting out of the ride vehicle?!? 🤔🤷🏼♂️🤔🤷🏼♂️. …….for those wondering, the word “parenting” used to exist some years ago regarding children. It involves teaching, reprimanding, coaching, and punishing of children so they don’t do stupid things.
I go to a particular park every weekend (it's close by) and it's disappointing how many passive parents I see that have clearly never taught their kids to be considerate of others (ie: open mouth coughing), wait their turn, or not put themselves in danger. I saw a kid climb the stone sign for a restaurant and then cut his hand pretty good. Where was the parent? On their phone.
Or parents that just let their kids scream bloody murder when they don't get something and don't impart discipline. Very hands off, passive.
I refuse to spend a penny on lightning lane or genie+. Just went to Disneyland earlier this year. Went on every ride without spending an extra cent on the dumb thing.

I dont understand how the kid got injured. We see these trackless rides go down all the time because a hat or something fell and triggered a ride wide shutdown. These vehicles are covered in sensors that should stop this very thing from happening! I wonder if they skipped the safety sensors because you know... China...
Guests keep throwing things on the track so they can get more fast pass and sell them to other guests. That’s why they turn off the sensors.

The Zootopia ride is not an incident I blame the corporation on.

The kid that jumped out looked about 5 or 6. I cant really say much without knowing the full story but personally i think its the parents fault for not holding onto their kid.

And also if someone loses something on the ride cast members take it to lost and found and you can probably get it back the same day or the next it's not worth getting injured for something you can buy again.

It’s extortion on park guest vacations. You spend thousands for a 4/5 day vacation. You have to spend the extra so you can actually ride the rides you want on your trip. It’s different if you are local.

@@kylekeller3398 the studio content doesn’t have to do with the parks. That’s a totally different basket of money. I don’t really care if they’re changing out characters. This stuff has been going on for over 30 years. It’s only a bit more in the spotlight due to social media.
You can have different genders and ethnicities playing characters. The problem is that when the story itself is boring, the audience doesn’t want it.
I know there’s content that pushes agendas, but every movie through time has had some form of messaging.
Personally, I miss the movies like “The absent minded professor” and things like when Walt was alive and running the studio.

When I worked at JP at USH, a guest jumped in the splashdown lagoon to retrieve his hat that had flown off during the drop…
Fortunately, the control lead spotted him and hit the e-stop.
As long as genie+ is still a thing I'll never go back to a Disney park. It creates ridiculously long lines for us while the rich get to cut the line and bypass everyone waiting. I want no part of it.
I’m shocked with the Zootopia incident that an E-stop wasn’t immediately triggered or sensors on the track or ride vehicle caused a temporary stoppage thus preventing the collision! Really curious about the maintenance report on this

Fast passes and lightning lanes create a problem instead of solving them. With this systems not available the queues would move much faster.

Every time I read or see anything about Disney either jacking up prices even higher, eliminating resort guest perks, or the insane bizarre behavior that goes on at the parks I have never more thankful that we haven't been back to Disney World since 2017.
There are plenty of rich people that will continue to pay for genie plus. If people pay, they will continue to increase prices.
I hope the imagination pavilion is the next thing to get repainted and I hope and pray it’s back to the original colors

When working attractions, I used to say my job was to keep you alive while helping you forget that these rides can kill you.
Waiting for my Disney stock to get back to my purchase price and then yanking it out. Embarrassed with how a vacation there is out of reach cost-wise to so many families. Walt and his brother must be swirling in their graves!

i had a thought while watching that segment, since cheapek demolished the economy of the company and since genie+ is such a simple cash cow, maybe iger is trying to use the system with such high expensies to be able to afford bringing fastpass back. i dunno, just a thought. wishful thinking😭🤷♀️

You would think there'd be seatbelts or pressure sensors on the seats to halt the ride if the vehicle detects a change in the status of the seat from what it was at the start of the ride.
We solved the problem of complaining about the prices for disney world. We just stopped going.
So many people want to complain about how Disney keeps raising prices and they charge too much. Well don’t go anymore.
Can we import Disney Tokyo management to the US? Maybe the US parks will be able to get nice things. DL Paris also has inventive entertainment management as well.

If bob iger was making actual good decisions, then genie+ would have been gone by now and fast pass would have returned.
Genie+ started in Fall of 2021. I experienced the launch.
I for one never pay for Genie+ when I go to the park. And only paid once for a LL so my hubby can go on Space Mt. because he never been on it. But it was only $11 then. I’m so glad hubby & I are DINKS & that we’ve been on all the rides we want to go on, because I will never pay for Genie+. And the only time we go to Disney now is because WDWNT or some other group is having a meet & greet there. Shame on Disney to charge that much. Greed Disney is what Disney is now. As for that child jumping out of the ride, I blame the parents. Great job Eric, looking good too. I need to get a shirt for my man. 😉👍 Happy New Year WDWNT!🥳

That’s weird, at Hollywood I was about to get on mickeys but they had to stop it for 10 minutes and the cast member said someone dropped a phone and said the ride stops whenever something falls on the floor. But I mean it happened there so, I guess the cast member was lying?
I hope the child is ok, yes they shouldn’t have jumped out but it’s a kid, people! the child may been very young and people in China don’t have a lot of money and those ears evidently meant the world to the child, I hope Disney takes good care of them, I’ve lost any good faith in the company I’m holding my breath for a company takeover by someone that will restore the magic

Here’s the thing the kid and anyone supervising them is ultimately at fault because they should never have gotten out of the ride vehicle everybody knows that and it’s clearly stated repeatedly at the beginning of most rides, that being said from a theme park standpoint I guess climbing out of the vehicle is a foreseeable complication that happens repeatedly on almost every ride. The fact that they didn’t have some sort of motion sensor in place blows my mind, and will probably be brought up with the inevitable lawsuit. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Disney adding motion sensors or some kind of monitoring to every trackless vehicle in all of their parks at some point to avoid this.
USA = guest gets out of ride vehicle in motion, gets injured, sues Disney, park rates go up to cover the insurance.
China = guest gets out of ride vehicle, gets injured, is sent to Nike factory, spends rest of their life building shoes.

I hate hearing locals who go to WDW every week complain about genie+ lol you can go into the park whenever, for some of us it’s a once a year or 2 vacation genie+ gives us the option to ensure the most bang for our time when there
And that's the reason why Disney will continue to raise prices and like it was mentioned, it only improves your wait by a slim margin most days.

Before yall start complaining about that extra $39, keep in mind Universal’s system (which is nearly identical) is over $250 a person a day
The common position on this is that Universal's system is priced to a point where buying the service really does give the guest a premium experience, as not as many people are buying it. Disney's system is sold to over 50% of park guests, erasing that premium experience.
And Universal’s system, while priced high, isn’t identical. Once you’ve purchased it, you can literally walk up to any ride at any time and ride (except Hagrid’s). No planning, no playing the MDE slots, no running out of capacity, no time limits
Two things first think is $39 really that bad. I mean yea paying more sucks but it could be an extra 100 per person. Second thing i think Eric needs to run into little rants. It's always fun to hear him add his thoughts ok the subject.
Yes it is for some. If they have a large family and need it for multiple days it's a small fortune.
