I knew it when you first said your preferred the chain! Time changes out perceptions. I still have both.

Yet more proof that you are an honest source of information keep up the good work

Less expensive setup: footplate+Vulken straps+Klau hanging scale (to record effort strength in pounds or kilos)+ a bar or handles. Since the Klau runs on AAA batteries, no problems with the inevitable death of the rechargeable Li+ ion battery.

Thank you for the tips, the klau mini (200 kg) seems perfect for me. 20 bucks on Amazon, small and light weight.

Different size chains could be another option...to overcome concentric load at top of exercise...and different spring tensions too...to overcome eccentric tension...a lot of sprinters, sportsmen, strongmen, weight and powerlifters, would adore the first version with these additional variables ...and for the really strong...why not have a heavier base plate. I sent some ideas to Dragon Door...and I do hope they will redevise the original model, the isochain...I reckon there would be a much bigger market for it than the isomax, although the band could still be used with the spring. Shame about the bar too...I was about to buy it...but I am deterred now...a battery seems a much better idea, I agree. Thanks for the Review! It gave me some good ideas...

You can only get the Iso max now. At $449.00 it is not worth it. I can get a Crain scale with a hold feature for $50.00.

I bet the Isomax handle with a vulken numbered strap and the isochain metal plate would be best (unless you needed to travel). That is my setup.

And I do wonder about the impact of removing the spring. I do not know how much give there is in both the spring and the strap...but if there is give, then there has to be an eccentric load along with the isometric load...which can produce greater strength gains. I also like the position of the hook for squats and deadlift exs...which is what I primarily wanted it for. It's a shame they have discontinued the older model...as I think they could have been interchanged...and I would used the old metal plate with the old bar...and the spring, but added the strap rather than the chain. Not sure whether I shall buy now.

The loss of the spring is a big issue for me...as its use made the exercises eccentric AND isometric...so some power and strength gains will be lost now...from where I am looking anyway...
