Beaks Bag: Loans - Why don’t clubs take advantage of the loan system? It worked great for the Storm and Harry Grant a few years ago. The Titans could loan out one if their halves / fbs and get a solid middle for the year. Next year, maybe Foran has retired so you bring the half back in.
Boys I’m 1 minute 13 seconds in and I had to pause it to say Merry Chrissy , happy new year and all that Jaz but as the Roo said , I’ve missed you boys too! So good to have you back Gents . All the best for 25 and beyond. Let’s Ogggg
I love when you guys give proper time to the Titans. They're the biggest "what if" every season. My only halves thing is Foran, Brim, and Campbell are always injured. I hope whatever combo we use is on the field all season.
Week four of commenting until the portrait of Freddy looking like he’s standing next to Todd Carney at a urinal is fixed to match the other three portraits
I did the math to see which team Guru should support. If we are doing it based on the average of where everyone else’s team placed on the ladder it goes like this. Raiders came 10th, Broncos came 12th, Souths came 16th and Tigers 17th. 10+12+16+17=55 divided by 4 = 13.75. So Guru can support either the warriors or titans. If we wanted to support a Sydney team the closest is Parra and as a doggies fan that would be terrible. Anyways, great poddy.
Beaks bag: with the minor premiership chat and needing it more rewarded, could giving them the chance to choose when they have their byes for the following year too?
Life after Foran will be fine 1. Kini 6. Campbell 7. Gordon 9. Verills 13. Randall 14. Brimson Why should Titans have to get rid of a player when they don’t need to You all seem to forget that Brimson has played in the halves before he’s not a rookie If Foran has to play a few games at 14 to help his longevity throughout the season that’s okay
@@BigSnapper obviously Campbell is playing 5/8 I didn’t question that I’m just stating that if Foran has to play at 14 to help him recover from ankle surgery why is that an issue

Brimson stays because he has local pride and passion for the team, he has said as much. I hate this mentality people have of the Gold Coast, not just in sport mind you, as a transitional place. People are FROM here. I am. We care about our city and our teams. It is not just a bunch of southern transplants who have their old teams, those people are just too fucking loud so people assume that is all there is. If the league had a proper system for trading players a la the NBA this would be an easy fix of course. But you do not abandon homegrown talent just because it overlaps, and Campbell and Brimson especially are OUR guys, guys with history here, roots. Also what games are you watching? Foran has been too old to take this team anywhere for at least 2 years, it is admirable but painful to watch him soldier on out there, but the dude can barely walk back to the sheds every. single. game.
Surely you're just starting Willison with Haas tho Kempy, then you can bring Jensen off the bench so the drop off isn't huge, and Willison doesn't have to be the main man. Kobe had his worst year of his career in 2024, and it was Patty's best individual year performance wise. Kobe's ball handling was awful this year, also the Broncos already do the running in pairs strat with Patty and the middles when he's at lock, it's their main forward play, Patty has spent most of his ball-playing in the last two years getting Payne one-on-one with halves. Willison killed it starting during the origin period and had the best individual season of his career in 2024, Kobe had some of his worst games when he was handed the 13 during origin... ???
Beaks Bag > what position could you see evolving in the coming years like the lock position has evolved with the smaller ball playing locks in recent times? cheers.
Question for Beak's Bag from a Pom - Why don't NRL clubs look to recruit from Super League more often? It is not mention enough that Canberra went from challenging for the 8 to being a Premiership Finalist on the back of signing Hodgson, Whitehead and Bateman. Super League players are on less money and have played a stack of games, so there is definitely value to be found. P.S. James Graham came across to the NRL as a ball-playing front row. There was a lot of discussion whether he would succeed in the NRL as he wasn't just a prop that runs north to south.
Beaks bag: name the 10 clubs that you believe Brimson would be starting fullback at. Cause I can't. Which isn't even a shot at Brimmo. Fullback just has insane depth compared to any other position.
Who should the Warriors captain be for 2025 after the Harris retirement? Barnett was captain for a few games last year. Fisher-Harris is the New Zealand captain. Also have vets like RTS.
I think people constantly massively underestimate the Cowboys depth. They just let 4 experienced top players go because they know its there..theyve got heaps of depth, you lads just pay no attention to it because there way up North. Of course it would seem like Sharks have more to people based in Sydney. Reality is they actually dont though. In terms of talent, we aint even questioning that surely? Absolute knock out victory to NQ, thats a clear lack of respect to even suggest otherwise
We have so many extremely promising juniors coming through. Mason Barber (FB/CTW). Kaiden Lahrs and Mason Kira (LCK/FRF) and a few others are so notable its laughable they don't know. Kira and Lahrs are out next two up and will debut soon, They're probably the best two forwards in QLD atm and are only a matter of when not, if.
Beaks bag: how would you pick the teams that go to Vegas each year? Should every team get a turn or should it be a reward for teams that finish in the top4?
I like the Payne Hass/Pat Carrigan combo leading the way for the Bronxs.... Is Billy Walters big enough for lock??? and just start Mozer at hooker... 🤔.. just a thought...
I know it’s just a business and people move clubs all the time but if I’m being dramatic, it almost feels disrespectful to tell Campbell to look elsewhere lol I personally would have let Brimson go based off attitude alone lol

you guys arent sure how kobe hetherington will go with his ball skills. he played 9 for qld under 20's and played outside centre with me in union in under 17's

Sharks have to lose Hazleton. They have extended their whole squad basically. I cant see how they would have the cap space to keep Hazleton if they dont lose Mulitalo and either Kennedy / Talakai.
I was impressed by nykia. I thought it was a bad fight for him to take at this stage of hes career and I thought like he had no chance against one of the modern greats lets be honest. Was a poor match up for him. He probably could of ducked this one. But the lad can box and hes peak is still years away. I would back nykia against some of the more fancied guys even in heavyweight
Jack DeBelin is a better ball player at 13 than Carrigan and that’s facts. He generally plays prop for QLD & Australia because he’s got a few ahead of him that are better. His ball playing isn’t realistically great linkman ball playing type stuff. It’s a tip on or short pass before the line or offload through the line that’s about it. He can still do that at prop I’ll argue it all day he’s a much better prop than 13 if he doesn’t have to worry about the extra shit. Just big runs & meterage with his footwork sneaky tip on pre line or offload through the line. He will still be super damaging and also not every team needs to make a player player like Yeo ffs Hetherington can pass a ball but also could play as a 2nd middle with footwork like Cotter & help around dummy half. You don’t need to force a player and make a middle into a 13 & almost make them play like a 6 it’s stupid. Good coaches know better use the cattle you’ve got stop trying to just copy the best.
Don’t really understand the Titans criticism. For the past few years one of the negatives about the broncos has been there is no Reynolds succession plan. Coby black get no game time and is smaller than Campbell is. But now that the titans are trying to blood the younger guys instead of a 34yr old Foran who is injury prone and more versatile ( can play 9 if needed) it’s a bad thing? Campbell has shown he can hang in the NRL and shows real flashes of Hughes. Is he a bit small? Sure. But foz was never known for his lockdown defence either. And what JC lacks in defense he more than makes up for in attack. You also can’t be wasting Brimmo in the centres anymore. It’s just not even a conversation
Yeah agreed Foran obviously is the best choice but individually ad a player he's lost some touch and he doesn't need to be playing to show hus leadership he can be a mentor off the field The Titans have a team that can cause damage and the upside is most.of theit spine and pack barring RCG are so so young they have a chance to be good long term success wise
