Love Wild Blue Yonder❤️ These videos have helped me so, so much!! My son left for BMT & I’m a nervous wreck!! Having an idea of what he’s doing has really decreased my anxiety. Thank you for helping so many!!
WildBlueYonder, I have been watching your videos for about a year now, and I can't tell you how motivational your channel has been for me. It has lowered y anxiety for going to Lackland and starting my journey to becoming an Airman. Thank you for your service and I hope to be the best I can be!
Your videos have helped me so much. I'm not an airman or future airman, but rather a spouse. Hubby is currently in his last week *squeel*. Watching your videos and getting an idea of what he was/is going through has helped so much. Keep up the amazing work and best of wishes to you!
That’s what I was wondering! 😂 I just sent my bf his first letter this morning and I put in the letter “(PS I want to send you a meme in this but don’t know if you’ll get in trouble, heh)” ... I think imma do it anyways lol
My son is currently on his second week and we received about three letters from him already but he said he hasn’t received from anyone. How long does it take for airman to receive letters and does it get review prior to handing it out?

Hey , you forgot you can go on the Web site for BMT and get a mailing address. This way your love ones will be ready for your call and just fill out the numbers and locations of where they are at. I am not sure of the BMT Web site but I did not find out this until after my love one was finish.
I mean, if you had to give an estimation.. when do you think I'd receive my first real letter from my husband? He left on the 30th I got his address by phone call the next day (thank God I record all my calls because that was crazy) It was labor day weekend right after he went, so he mailed me the address card on the 31st and the graduation dates and brochure on the 2nd. I got both of them on the 6th. I's the 10th now.. I've written him letters every day.. I wish I had at least an estimation on when to expect a letter.. you know preferably before my mailman files stalking charges :)
Thanks wild blue for the information! Do you think you could do a video on the chow hall and Bx? I personally eat pretty healthy and can't find to much about what's offered, how many meals you can get a day? Is it buffet style? What are prices like at the Bx? Is it all tax free?
+Adam Peterson The chow hall is basically free food and as much food as you want.. As a fat person, I must say the chow hall is pretty much the best thing ever in my life. Haha. Every base has one for the Airmen that are living in the dorms. All of your money is taken out of your BAS (Basic Allowance for Substinance) fund on a monthly basis to cover the charges. It doesn't matter how much or how little you eat, they always take out the same amount (which is all of it, so you might as well eat all you can at the chow hall.) The chow hall is open 4 times a day for a couple hours each meal. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Midnight chow. They offer your typical breakfast foods in the morning, custom omelets, eggs made to order, hash browns, bacon, toast, grits, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, French toast, pancakes.. like. breakfast foods. lol. lunch varies. At lunch, they have a variety of foods on one side that change from day to day. The other side keeps a consistent menu on a day to day basis. Dinner can change day to day and Midnight chow is just breakfast foods again
Could I get a waiver for ACL reconstruction with meniscus repair if I have full range of motion and no complications I've been cleared by my doctor for all activities.
+thecartier6 You'll have to contact your recruiter about that- I can't say for sure :/ but it sounds like you'll be able to join with something like that
I have a question my brother is in air force he is going to graduate July 18 and he stopped sending us letters about a week ago I just wanna know why he hasn’t
Hey I love watching your videos and interested in enlisting but have a a few concerns first concern is I have tattoos and wondering if that'll stop me. Secondly I've been told multiple different things about my condition I have hypothyroidism and take medication for it and wondering if it would disqualify me or would I get a waiver??
+Nicole Hogan Hey Nicole, that's all depending on the location and nature of your tattoos... As a general guide, you can't have tattoos on your hands, neck, or head. All tattoos should be able to be covered by a uniform combination (long sleeves if necessary). Secondly, I'm not a doctor.. lol so I'm sorry but I can't tell you for certain if you can join or not with that condition.. A recruiter should be able to assist you more on the fine details.
+WildBlueYonder thank you soo much for the info. Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to reply and make new videos they are very helpful. And thank you for your service, hopefully I'll be serving our great nation as well

Hey wild blue yonder! I'm a huge fan of yours. I have a question, I'm a senior in high school and turn 18 this Sunday. Would it be good to start DEP soon? I want to be in Security Forces and was wondering if it would help me get the job. Is DEP worth it? I would appreciate if you took the time and answered my questions, keep making videos, and have a great day man!
+Michael Arenas Hey Michael! This is probably the best time to talk to a recruiter. Seriously, the end of your junior year and the beginning of your senior year is the best time. Getting in now won't help or hurt your chances of specifically getting Security Forces- but it will quicken the time for you to ship out. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for watching!!
@@naphtalisoto5820 Did you ever get any? My husband left on Tuesday and it sounds like it can be hard for them to write so I don't expect much from him.

Hey I'm trying to decide what AFSC to pick in the Air Force, the ones I've liked so far are security forces in hopes that I could work with a military working dog or special missions aviation specialist. My main concern is what I would do after I got out, with security forces I could become a police officer but with the aviation specialist I don't know what would be available to me. But I heard security forces was the worst AFSC out of every single one, I'm still currently in high school and have a 4.0 gpa. If you could pick a AFSC for me based on what I've told you what would it be? I am completely lost and am torn between these two jobs.
+Steven Moore Well Steven, it's true, a lot of people don't like security forces- but that's because they didn't know what they were getting into usually.. They think it's going to be much more exciting and fulfilling, but often times their dreams fall flat of their reality. Anyways. Excitement wise- I would shoot for Aviation Specialist. They have some awesome day to day work. However civilian opportunities are much more plentiful with Security Forces.. The only thing I can imagine coming out of Aviation Specialist is being on some type of a helicopter team (the news, national parks, coast guard, red cross, hospitals, etc). Hmm that's a tough one. I would look into other jobs or consider getting a degree in something more transferable while you're in.
+WildBlueYonder I have no problem getting into security forces if at some point I could get a MWD(military working dog). Do you know how hard it is to get into that or is it even possible in the Air Force? Thanks for the quick answer btw
It's definitely possible. It's just a different shred, which means you become a cop and then you just request and get hope to be selected to work with the dogs. (This is what my friend told me at BMT)
it wouldn't be bad if you would like to deploy frequently. when i was in my finance tech school we looked at a deployment rate chart for 2015 and security forces by far deploys the most along with contracting, battle field airman (cct, pj, TacP) and EOD
+David Escobar yeah I'm not too scared of deploying and will do whatever it takes to serve my country. But would hope that I could get to work with the dogs as well, they're truly amazing creatures.

Hi my boyfriend just left for BMT last week and I'm going to be honest but I'm really miserable without him cause I spent most of my time everyday with him anyways. But I wrote him but I haven't received any letters yet. How long does it take to receive letters?
+Courtney Chambers You probably won't get a letter until the end of their first WOT (Week of Training), or possibly their second. So, I'd wait about two weeks after he's been there to get one. Be patient! :) It takes a little time
I have a question, my bf is in bmt and the first letter I sent was the day he called then I notice I was off a letter for his when I got the card with the adress then of course I fixed it, but ever since his first call I have written him everyday now we are going on week three and I haven't recieved a letter. Is it just possible that he hasn't had time to? Just trying to be patient waiting for a letter :/ I even got his graduation letter in the mail and it was dated for the 9th and I received it on the 12th so I know it doesn't take long
+Drake Burd Just the best fit for my personality, my wants and it has the best quality of life. Nobody that I knew in my family was in the AF, so it was mainly just my decision
+brandon davenport Thanks for watching! And you can invite up to 10 people (not including those who have access to military bases). You can sometimes invite more if necessary
It really depends on what exactly what you want to do. The Air Force has the least number of jobs where you will be with a gun and have the chance to shoot at someone and get shot at lol and also less chance of deployment from what I know. If you're looking for a brotherhood, then The Army would be for you. It really does depend on what you want, and think is better. My friend and I were both thinking of the same thing (Army or Air Force) a while back. I decided to go for the Air Force, and he decided for the Army.
