Personally, I think you should’ve made a console with an obnoxious design that has an individual cartrage slot and individual disc tray for every console you can think of, whether it’s needed to have additional slots, or if the games would even work, or not.

Lego has also made forays into the computing hardware space before with their WeDo and Mindstorms lines, but previously they've been confined to the embedded space. Something a little more hackable, with a bus that could be shaped like existing Lego components, could open up even more possibilities.
