Taking my test Wednesday. Not worried about it as I’ve been in manned aviation since 1980 and got my private license in 1996 out of Andrews AFB. The charts and weather are easy to me. Just had to learn the drone regs and some of the stupid government ideas like “hazardous attitudes”, whether it’s risk management of CRM for a given wording in a question. Just peeves me that an ultralight manned aircraft at over 300 pounds in the air requires NO license, NO training, and NO test…… but a tiny quad copter requires a license and a $175 test if you want to post a monetized video. It’s nothing but a barrier to entry in an attempt to keep people out of the air so Bezos, WalMart, and their ilk can put their stupid delivery drones up there
I don’t disagree. The only useful thing it forced me to learn was understanding airspaces. I honestly had no idea how those worked beforehand. It doesn’t make me a better drone pilot, just a more aware pilot.
@@AlainGrandemange well I passed with 95%. Now, even though I have “known traveler” through TSA and can bypass almost all the “security BS at a commercial airport, I have to wait 5-10 days for my TSA background check. The feds are absolutely out of control and over reaching their authority in every facet of our lives. The founding fathers would have been shooting decades ago.
Looks like you've got a handle on the drone thing ... And beautiful home... 🤙
Thank you.
