A 20yr old truck with only 101K miles and it's a 6spd manual with a V10. That thing is very rare

I own a V10 Ram, and I've decided to keep it and put a lot of money in because of the unique sound, and how they're really hard to come by nowadays. This sounds really good!

This was back when you were laughed at for >8mpg and for not buying the Cummins... now, if you want to buy a NA V10, Lambo, Audi, or find a used Viper or the LFA.
@@kevinobrien4155 Planning on getting Gibson headers, a custum cold air intake, and then catless, just true dual (or H pipe) all the way back! Want it loud, deep, and tuned someday.
2nd gens are all modern classics and very likely to be worth a fortune in 10-20 years. Don't let them fall apart around the drivetrain. I see so many that are rusting to death, screeching and looking lethargic from zero maintenance.
I have a V10 that I'm putting a cummins in lol I can't afford to put gas in a V10

Ford did the same with their Super Duties. I had a 6.8L V10, and they could be had with a manual.
@@maticuno Can confirm, hauled a load of calves to the stock yard today in a 99 F250, 6.8 V10, no cats and a single Flowmaster Super 44.
over a decade ago, dodge had put their 8.4l v10 from the viper inside of their ram, and it was named the ram srt10 . it was pretty wild😂😂😂
@@jaylenwinchester regularcareviews just uploaded a video 4 hours ago on the Viper Ram. Vipers have been talked about like hell for the past 2-3 years. Modern cars are downsizing (V8-> Turbo V6, V6-> Turbo I4) and it’s disappointing enthusiasts. The Viper’s big NA V10 stands in defiance of that.
That's nothing, Chrysler told Lamborghini to make a Viper engine out of this one, and after few years, 2nd gen Viper engine went into Ram, making it Ram SRT-10. Which is funny tbh, truck engine put into a supercar, later put back in a truck again (well, not exactly the same V10 but you get the point)
You can ALMOST hear a little viper in it.
that's what I'm saying it's got the distinct pitch of a 1st gen viper, maybe with the right exhaust it could sound close to it

Sorry to disappoint but it doesn't sound very good compared to this one. Have true duels on mine, catless, and resonators and it sounds... Weird. If people really want to hear it I'll post a video 😅

I had a bud who had a 2nd Gen with a V10 and he had it catted with true duals and i can’t honestly say that thing was a monster then he sold it cause he blew the motor

It needs a Flow FX muffler. You can have volume and tone at the same time.
Now to get the owner to go with a full custom exhaust with3.5 inch pipes, x pipe and dual tips with race cats. I'm betting that would give it about 30 extra horsepower. Dodge motors seem to love exhaust modifications.

This sounds completely different than the Ford V-10, which sounds better imo. The Ford has that distinctive V-10 howl & sounds very exotic, the difference is the Ford has a 72° split pin crankshaft & a balance shaft as well.
I had a chance to get a v10 5 speed ram just like this in trade for my 03 Subaru outback years ago, but I took cash instead. I regret not taking that trade so much
I owned a 97 V10 8.0L Ram 2500 4X4 Long bed club cab with an automatic transmission. It was a reliable engine I had it for 6 years, and my daily driver. I wanted something new and gas prices went up. So I sold it and decided to get a 91 Mitsubishi Mighty Max RWD regular cab. I wish I would've kept the ram to put a straight pipe in it, but the tranny was giving in at 202k miles.
For a Michigan truck that sucka is clean

The v10’s sound really good with a equal length x pipe system otherwise the exhaust will choke out the engine and cause it to sound great then top of because it’s too much restriction. Shorter exhaust and an x pipe to get that powa
15+ Years ago my brother in laws neighbor let us use his truck to take their boat out, we get there and it has a open diff, the v10 incinerate the one tire. So difficult pulling a boat serious low rpm torque. I always wonder what they would sound like with that horrific exhaust removes so this is pretty cool awesome video

The automatic was only 8 second to 60, mid 16s 1/4. I couldnt find a test for the manual

Mine is a Cali truck, and an auto(such a granny trans but 2nd-3rd is nice on freeway on ramps) but it had single pipes, one Cat, and that massive massive muffler. As soon as I saw that hunk of metal I cut it out... and proceeded to leave it dumped straight under the back doors. Looking to side pipe it with a proper muffler here soon, the note is so deep it'll rattle the mirrors of the car next to me if I Rev it and it snap crackle pops under braking
