@Zeljko Trifunovic You do realise this show is 10+ years old? Long before TH-cam became a mainstream way for TV shows to re-upload content for money? She didn't do this for subs - TH-cam was still in its early stages where people just uploaded silly videos, memes and joke videos about themselves. Not sure why you are so hellbent on bringing Victoria down. People should be paid for the work they do. Simple. The world isn't a charity and nothing is free anymore.

Pretty much what he did with his whole family. Everyone's dealing with their dogs, meanwhile, his dog who is causing all the other dogs to get triggered is being ignored by him...
Flustered/frustrated is a low level of anger. I'd be frustrated, too, if I was trying to teach someone something after they asked me for help, and they just totally ignored me. I will admit that I am guilty of playing with my phone too much, and I do it the most when I am anxious or trying to avoid something. With that being said, I suspect that Charlie was nervous because Oscar redirected to him with a bite the last time he encountered a dog.

Hey, I got nine dogs. I have been working with them and they are well-behaved sometimes. I still need to do more work and training. Yep nine dogs. One for each person in our household. lol.

I love how the kid encourages the dog by running with his hands up and jumping around saying that the dog is a good boy, that’s absolutely adorable, all the dogs seem like absolute sweet peas and love their owners very much.
So this was almost like the "Amy's Baking Company" episode of "It's Me or The Dog."

Edit: I was just saying this because my sister had to make this decision when she fostered a puppy in college. I did not mean to suggest to overpopulate shelters and I’m sorry it was interpreted that way to others.

They're saying to let someone else have the dog if you can't handle it, which is finding a new home for a dog and that is the best thing to do if someone can't train a dog well. To bring it back to where you got it from... Can be back to the shelter, which would be sad, or back to the person who bred it which suggests the dog came from a backyard breeder.. The latter are defenitely not ideal, but it's still better than neglecting a dog or even (unknowingly) abusing it. That can lead to the dog misbehaving to such a degree that it gets put down and possibly even kills another dog. There are people in my neighbourhood that have a vicious dog, I wish they brought it back when the problems could still be helped because now we have a dog with murderous intend in the neighbourhood and they're so smart that they don't even put a muzzle on their dog...

@@khandiyoung8792 honestly, yes that could be true for a kinds of people. I feel like people shouldn't make excuses to cover up their laziness or whatever. He is old enough to know that he should show respect to her and have the responsibility of any pet owner. He wouldn't be on the show if he hadn't taught his dog in the first place or taken it to a trainer.
I'm also, 18 and a young adult but I believe everyone has a sense of responsibility by any age above 7ish.
The owner didn't understand when and how to redirect his dog.
The dog doesn't need to growl or bark to be tense. You can see it from the gaze and the stiffness of his body that he is already too focused on the other dog.
That's why he didn't listen: it was too late already.
He should have turned around and take a few steps away from the stimuli and worked from there.

I thought I heard that right. I only have three dogs two big one little all three are well behaved with very little training done. My German Shepherd barks and goes full protective mode when people knock on the door but once I let them in or she see that they are not going to hurt me she goes right back to being her sweet and loving safe just don't enter without permission as who ever does will more than likely be leaving with a piece missing

She got more upset at him then she did at that itailian family who neglected the dog. i guess she felt like the insult was more directed at her this time and took it personaly. I actualy thought she would leave him in the park.
In the case of that family, some of them were paying attention. In this case, she posssibly got the feeling it was pointless because no one was paying attention (since there was only one person there and they were looking at their phone).

Yes it is. I have six dogs much bigger than Those and I have no problem walking them, but I spend hundreds of hours teaching them everything.
Ewelina2501 exactly! I have a dog walking business and I walk 6-7 dogs at a time on a daily basis. They all walk on normal collars, don’t pull (usually) and don’t pay attention to people or dogs as we pass.
I want to know how Victoria deals with the stress and frustration of dealing with difficult owners!
By expressing herself assertively and respectfully like she did here. Then moves forward and completes the job. Humble and professional.
Maybe she has an active dog and runs with it?
She is obviously good at setting boundaries and communication.
I have never met a highlyntrainrd dachshund. I feel like everyone gets them because they are cute and tiny but dont treat them like A DOG and it makes them misbehave. Drives me insane.

If I were to meet her irl I would ask her, has there ever been a point within her job that she had to take away a dog from the owners?
As a dog trainer, she legally does not have the power to take a dog away. However, she can call the local animal welfare group (which would depend on the location) and report that the dog is being neglected.
She threatened it at least once as far as I know.

Ehhhhh you might want to ask someone with more experience. She was a dog walker and did a mail correspondence dog training program. She is one hell of a marketer and used her looks and accent to land a program in the United States. She only takes cases that are easy. She has done a lot of research though. It’s a reality television show and they are pretty far from actual reality

Victoria, I could hug you for when you confronted him about not being attentive and being on his cellphone. I really hate it when people start looking at their cell phone or get distracted when I'm trying to have a conversation with them. Sometimes what I'll do is just stop talking. And often they'll say I'm listening. I don't necessarily buy that and what I do sometimes is wait until I have their attention and then go on. It is very frustrating. And I can see particularly when you're hard at work and they called you. Bravo!

A key issue that I see in every one of the clips of these that I watch is that the audience doesn't know how long it took to reach the progression that was reached. As a dog trainer I am very aware of how long it takes to rehabilitate these reactivity issues and I'm often asked by client how many sessions will it take for us to train my dog. This is never a question I can answer one because I'm not there to train the dog as nearly as much as I am there to train the person therefore if you are not practicing it when I'm not there it will take longer but also because everybody has their own learning curve and so do dogs so each person I work with comes to it in their own time and each dog turns around in their own time. Today I had a client that after two sessions was still struggling greatly with controlling the movement of her hands and jerking on the dog's leash without reason and so I stuck a leash around her waist I'm connected the other one to it to remove her hands from the equation and I asked her to work like this with her dog until she was confident in the way that she was forwarding and marking and then I can work on teaching her to control her hands. But I did this to eliminate a portion of the equation so that she could focus on the more important part of that equation. This is something that I may not need to do with every client what was required for this particular client. My point being is that you may watch these videos and see the advice being given but that does not mean that you know how to execute that advice. If you are having trouble with your dog I highly recommend finding a balanced trainer to assist you. only 10% of dogs can be trained with a all positive reinforcement trainer and you do not want to trainer that focuses more on the correction of behaviors than they do on teaching expectations and behaviors. So what we call the in-between is a balanced trainer.

dashs usually required a looooot more time in training/ repetitions and regular reinforcements. Such dog were breeded for functions that required them to be persistent and not give up with a high energy to last through their work....but such traits also mean these breeds are more stuburn!

We have 4 dogs, we walk them separately. I walk my dog, my. Mum walks hers, sometimes we'd take our husky cross. But lately we've been taking the puppy and the husky.

I try to train he dog but me being 12 she doesnt take notice , in fact she doesnt even walk him last time he was walked was aroung 3 weeks ago and it wasnt her doing it it was me and my sisters . I tryed thw food distractions when walking him but he soesnt eat on walks Victoria help ME
Is there something he likes more, like a certain toy you can use as a reward instead? Otherwise try doing something that makes him really tired first, like really active play. A tired dog is usually easier to train because they don't have that pent up energy they want to release
@@needmusicnow7 That's good advice! I would also add that it's OK if you just have to lead the dog away from other dogs and there is quite a lot of pulling on the leash, etc. at first. A dog that has not been walked in weeks will not be able to be calm and concentrated when you first take them out, so don't get upset if you're not able to get their attention.
