Just for you that don't know, Vanessa writes all of her songs and composes all of her own music. It's only recently when she started to co-write e.g. white houses with Steven Jenkins
"Sooooooooooooo... you like Xbox?" XDD love her, and i love how she always has something to say about her songs before she plays them. That way, you know it means a lot to her and has more depth than most popular songs of today.
She is not some kind of diva singer, but she has some really good melodies and originality that is just beautiful. I love the keyboard world she does as well.
BUT.. Vanessa Carlton did write that song, and she deserves that credit better than artists who don't write their own songs Her voice is not very great, but like someone said, the song is very fast paced, plus she's playing an energy taking instrument... so it's very understandable... sorry for being a long post.. I had a lot of say (I do like her btw lol)
Also explaining a LITTLE about your songs is good.. but she gave it all out... i preffer to leave it to my imagination. It makes me wonder about and like the song better. I think the Stevie Nicks part was a little much if you ask much...
There are many people out there that are shallow and quite /rude/ and /ignorant/ such as yourself. Yes, her lyrics are simplistic, and no she isn't the greatest poet, though, she finds the need to show the deeper side and history of the music.
Eh... I just want to be able to write a song. o-o "It's only recently when she started to co-write e.g. white houses with Steven Jenkins" I thought she just wrote Harmonium with him...?
Hmm for starters... I have to admit that she was a LITTLE unpleasent with the host.. he was being nice and she could've been nicer back IMO... it was really uncalled for
What an awkward song live, this is one song I actually like the CD version of better than the live version. It's still a great song, it just has a weird timing.
Well... I think she's a good songwriter and undoubtely she can play the piano very well. I agree with sarah partially because I do like thought provoking lyrics such as tori amos' or lisa loeb's over simplistic ones

"so, uh, you like x-box"
she's adorable
I think the "Hey!" at the end was a little late... and the ending after sounds a little weird. Then again it could be me.
Still, Vanessa rocks.
Before Taylor Swift, there's Vanessa Carlton 🤔🤔😁😁

I wrote a few ditties, similarly to how she writes her outros.
They suck though and sound too much like her endings.
