Also important to draw attention to the person Ned sent to bring in the mountain being Beric Dondarrion - I don't think it was shown clearly, or even his name mentioned in this episode, but important to take note.....for later.
One of my favorite lines of dialogue in the first season happens this episode: Viserys: And yet here you stand?! Jorah: And here I stand. The words of House Mormont are "Here we stand." Jorah is in exile and a huge source of shame to his family. Viserys knows this and would also know Jorah's house words, so he flings them in Jorah's face - but Jorah instead owns them, wears them as he always has... and stands fast. ❤🐻❤
@prico3358 some of us read the books and clocked it the first time. But, even if it took someone 40 times to like it, why can't that still be their favorite now? People are allowed to like things.
Just wanted to add some context on Viserys. As King's Landing was being sacked after Robert killed Rhaegar (Viserys's older brother), 8 year-old Viserys was spirited away with his heavily pregnant mother in the middle of the night. Not long after, his mother died giving birth to Daenerys. One of the last things his mother did before she died was give Viserys her crown - her golden crown - and tell him to look after his sibling and get them back to King's Landing to take his rightful place as King. So, when he says he had "... the greatest dynasty the world had ever seen on [his] shoulders since [he] was eight years old..." he really did. After their mother died, a loyal family servant looked after Viserys and Daenerys, but this servant fell ill and died less than 3 years later. After this, the rest of the servants cleared the house of any valuables and ran in the middle of the night. So, at 12, Viserys has to raise his 4 year old sister as they effectively couch-serf across Essos, trying to keep them both alive with zero resources. He struggles not to blame Daenerys for the death of their mother. Combine that with parentification and *massive* trauma- bonding and abandonment issues, and you have a perfect setup for Viserys to mistreat Daenerys. It's not long before he has to sell his mother's crown, the last physical reminder of his mother and their former power, for food and shelter. As years go by, they are never secure, and often homeless. They're regularly mocked and dismissed, and Viserys becomes known as the beggar king. None of this excuses his behavior. He's an entitled, vicious little shit, and he got exactly what he deserved. But this info does explain some of his wildly delusional behavior, including his irrational cruelty toward Daenerys, and his fanatical pursuit of a golden crown.
It does make his unraveling a sadder event to see, but, yes, as you say, still does not justify his behavior. Cause and reason not necessarily being synonymous.
Such a brilliantly packed episode.. ..instead of commenting on the major stuff, I'd like to point out what a great moment it was for Jorah Mormont when Viserys was attempting to steal the dragon eggs.. ..the way he delivers the line "yet here I stand," is impactful because the Mormont House words are literally "Here We Stand."
feedback: Lindsay has to learn to speak without taking her eyes from the TV. I've seen too many reactors missing something crucial because they had to talk to their friend while looking at his eyes... In Game of Thrones things can happen in a fraction of a second. And things will happen.
@@MugShotzReacts rather wonderfully, Harry Lloyd also narrates the audio version of the prequel short stories (based on Viserys' great x grandfather Aegon's childhood) the Dunk and Egg books. He's a fan favourite to voice the next book in the series (when George finishes it), as the previous elderly narrator has died since recording the first five books.
@@derrisreaditbefore - *"(when George finishes it)"* IF George finishes it. He seems quite determined to do ANYTHING ELSE, rather than go back to working on that book!
@@derrisreaditbefore - Agreed.. but the thing is, he's still willing to put massive amounts of effort into RELATED projects.. other books dealing with ancient lore and such.. but little to no effort into finishing the final book in the main series.
and her sibling parents were also incest babies... I hope you react to the histories and lore videos, though you might want to do 'chapter chunks' with the ladies - they're long.
I understand why people would say it's not right, but that slap wasn't a woman thing. It was a Cersei thing. When I look at the totality of what she's done, she actually deserved worse. Joffrey was slapped in episode 2 for much less.
the silly thing in this scene, is that gold seems to melt like butter... you can't melt gold that easily. Melting point is 1064°c, good luck reaching that on a pot suspended over a woodfire.
Trial by combat isn't necessarily to the death. When Bronn drew first blood, Vardis raised his visor and looked to Lysa, because she could've called the duel there if she chose. But she didn't, so they fought on. And the reason Bronn waited a long time to kill Vardis when he had him at his mercy was because Lysa could've _also_ called the duel there and allowed Vardis to live. In the book it's much more straightforward, and there is no opportunity for first blood. But it also seems like Lysa is deliberately trying to get Vardis killed in that duel, which maybe carries over to the show.
I think she's just optimistic to the point of delusion. It's like the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, except she's got someone else fighting for her. Ser Vardis could lose both arms and a leg, and Lysa would still be like "keep fighting, Ser Vardis! We can't give up already-- you have him right where you want him!"
If they’re going to talk about who deserves what kind of hit they got, you’re gonna need to clarify that it CLEARLY was a slap and not a punch with a hand wearing a ring
I hope you've told Lindsay and Ashley that Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner are still best fiends, to this day! And Joeffrey is, indeed, the product of incest, but it's worth mentioning that Danerys is, too.
Rhaego is a dothraki version of her elder dead brother's name, Rhaegar (who was the crown prince when Robert killed him in battle and was called the Last Dragon).
Ashley is the best! She picks up on most of the important things pretty quickly & if her hands are doing “that thing” when Tyrion almost rolled off then I can’t wait to see her reactions to the red wedding and other amazing Episodes! Her reactions will be epic, I’m sure! Good luck with the channel ladies & be well ❤ P.S. Steph ( I think it’s Steph, far left?) I know you don’t want to give away any spoilers but you really do need to explain some of the info they should already know like the mad king stuff & the locations and house names, etc. or why Cersei & Joffrey want him to marry Sansa so badly bc she is a lady of the north & it helps to solidify their houses, even though they both despise Sansa. you can go through so much more to fill them in but you don’t even share what your own reactions were like when you first watched it or what you thought, and I think that would be great as well! Thanks for listening, it’s just constructive criticism with the best intentions ❤
We also have watched some history and lore episodes where a lot of this is explained, plus I’m letting them figure it out on their own. Other reactors don’t have some explaining each part of it to them, so why should ruin the experience for them?
Ned looks so sick because the actor had bad case of the flu and was feverish. That's why they shot him laying down in the opening, he was too sick to stand.
Laws- It would be hard to have a lot of written laws since only a handful of people in any location can read. Like, the Starks can read, but not all families, even the powerful ones, can read. It’s one important reason all houses have a measter. So no, probably not a lot of written laws, just like in the Middle Ages.
Ahhh yes, the iconic reveal that Joffrey is not Robert’s son and therefore has no Baratheon blood (kings blood), is an incest baby AND has no claim to the throne!! Great reaction and episode.
That’s not to say that there weren’t marriages between Baratheon and Lannister before (there were some), but I don’t know of any that would put Joffrey in their lineage. So, not even a Baratheon x number of times removed.
@@0okaminoBut he's not a Lannister either. He'd be a Waters only if Jaime publicly recognised him as his son. Other than that, he's just a nameless commoner. Doesn't matter how far down the line of succession his parents are, then. Even if he was Robert's son, but simply born before the marriage, he wouldn't be in line, unless Robert had formally legitimised him.
That's one of the many things GoT does brilliantly: all those amazing villains that we love to hate. RIP Viserys: Harry Lloyd was really great in that role.
I actually love, love, love your chemistry. The banter is quite entertaining BUT, I’m afraid the story will escape you if you are not paying more attention to what is said, what is suggested, and what the cameras are showing you sweet Summer…………. The History and Lore will connect many dots. Enjoy the show!!!
One thing I do find interesting about this show, particularly women's reactions, is how much they can see theselves in Arya and Daenerys but few ever see themselves in Sansa this early on. I think the question of whether Joffrey is royalty is one that kinda has implications for the whole society. Like, the only reason Robert has a claim is because of his technical blood connection to the Targaryens. At the end of the day, your claim is as good as the might you have to hold the throne.
Thank you so much for noticing that! I'm a Sansa fan, not least because wishing she was a part of the stories she grew up with, is something I identify with. As a result of her romanticizing the tales of chivalric love, and royal purity, she's dealing with an enormous amount of cognitive dissonance, Joffrey's ability to turn on the charm makes her able to 'look past' his faults to 'see the true purity' in him, and her daydreams of the perfect story ending gives her something to hang on to as her world continues to fall apart around her.
Yeah, I don’t think Sansa’s princess ambitions are particularly unusual. It’s a bit like dogs chasing cars, though. What’s a dog going to do if it catches one? Probably hasn’t thought that far in advance, and might just end up catching a tire.
Lindsey I love your stand up routine, I think you're super fun and cool but I fear you might loose a loooot of interesting and important little details along the way.. ❤🎉

Interesting fact that after Tyrions trial by combat in the books, deep into the third or fourth book there is a very casual mention of a brutish gaoler at the Eyrie with shiny gold teeth.
Hey just some constructive crit.. the 1 constantly talking through every scene can ruin scenes snd emotional reaction to scenes for other people watching and trying to grasp everything that is happening.. The 1 in the middle seemed lil annoyed with it also. Just from what i noticed.. i may be off on it, but that's what it seemed like.... not saying dont talk but the constant of it can be much. Regardless, enjoying yalls.
No, you are right and I agree. The women on the right has no filter and has to make a joke during each scene. It is very immature and annoying. The woman in the middle is invested in the show and is clearly annoyed.
Ladies, that was fabulous. I knew from your first video that Lyndsey was going to bring the reaction energy every time, and so far, she's never let me down. Ashley came out STRONG today and I LOVED IT, I was so here for her obvious glee at Viserys' demise. I don't remember if you've read the books Stefani, and if you have I apologize for stating what I'm *certain* you've already shared, that for as amazing is the show is - there's simply so much MORE in the books. That can seem overwhelming to many (the books do look daunting), but if you're loving what you're getting, but wish there was more, more magic, more politics, more spying, more characters... the books are exactly what you could hope for. Looking forward to the back half of the first season.
Stefani, I'm so glad you can be their guide during this whole journey. Holding back most of the info is good b/c it will come eventually. I feel the ladies catch different things and that's great. Every sentence is KEY though as you already know. Dialogue matters in this show =)
Viserys was not always like this, he was a caring brother in the books, and all of a sudden he had to sell his mothers crown to survive, separately he was raising Daenerys all his life, protecting her from the assasins
She absolutely deserved that slap. Her deserving of it doesnt mean he should have done it, but, to claim she didnt deserve, ignoring the batant disrespect in her statement is just ridiculous. I suppose a lot of females think a woman can say and do anything and yet, never deserves to get a slap for it...feminism for ya
Yep.. if Robert had disrespected her like that, and she slapped him, you can guarantee they'd have said he deserved it! But, as you said, that's modern feminism for ya. There used to be a time when feminism was about actual equality.. but that died out decades ago...
I feel as if this episode is very telling when it comes to the reactions, and I'm excited to have been here from the beginning! I am always chuckling along and enjoying the trio friendships during these! I find myself awaiting the weekly release of episodes of Game of Thrones. Which has been good as I just finished my 2nd to last term of university! Cannot wait for the unexpected to happen through the rest of the series now!
I mean wasn't that technically mercy. To kill him before throwing him through the "moon shoot". At least he was already dead, not making that long fall waiting for death to come.
Wait...there's such a thing as a "no pants memo"? And congrats on catching on to the whole incest baby bombshell so quickly, just might be the fastest among all the reactors. Great show
11:00 - oh, Cercei deserved that and worse. It was just a slap, if Robert hit her with closed fist we would see her shoes fly off. But that smack - chef's kiss!
I know one word of raven. One of the few words that means the same around the world is thought to come from a raven's warning call. When a crow sees a raptor it screams the word hawk. If you yell hawk at a crow it will fly off most the time.
Having seen the show many times and knowing whats to come, I really can't fairly rate this episode. I mean it's a 5 cup episode for what you guys have seen so far. But it is not even in a top 10, maybe not even a top 20 episode overall. Probably even lower. This season alone there are two episodes yet to come, maybe 3 that are better. There are SOOOO many iconic episodes from this show and honestly, you guys have not seen one of them yet. Maybe the first episode mainly for the last 30 seconds is iconic.
Great reaction. I gigure each episode they introduce 2-3 near characters and then they kill off a character or two that was introduced earlier! No-one is safe and still the cast constantly grows! :-)
Every Targaryen is resistant to fire not just dany…tho all aren’t immune to it like she is tho its an explanation why she was completely immune and it has to do with the witch from ep 10.
Why do you guys keep mentioning links, youtube killed those a while back now. Maybe a pined comment half the time will show. Lots of old vids use to have embedded links and now they are gone. My guess is google desided to get greedy and only allow their ads.

I don't think these ladies have any ideas of things worked in medival times, none whatsoever.
@@argantyr5154 Robert can only do so much to Cersei since he's deeply in debt to the Lannisters. He's also frustrated that he's constantly surrounded by Lannisters at Tywin's insistence.
these guys are feminists so get ready for more queen power, even the bad ones.
Steph:You can't believe it happened so fast?
You better believe it.
18:17 It's gelly. Also, it was so sticky, Emelia Clark got stuck on the toilet and needed two people to unstuck her.
23:39 Notice each time you hear the start of that joke ;)
28:02 He commanded and slaughtered a whole village of a fellow kingdom's country without any motive. Demoting him is kinda mild at best.
RHAEGO MY EGGO, ahahahahaha, yall are witty, lines like that are why I watch reactions. XD
38:05 Best reaction from Ashli all season! Her face in anticipation as soon as she realized what was happening was my Christmas gift from reaction world. Thanks and looking forward to the rest of the seasons and the Histories and Lore! 😊
Close-ups of Lindsay's face are terrifying.
🤣
👍 for "meecro-wa-vey", my personal favourite pronunciation of microwave that I use as often as I can. People of culture 😂
😂
Love how invested they are already! Season 1 rules.
Dialogue matters in this show =)
The actor for Viserys also does the narration for the Dunk and Egg (A knight of the Seven Kingdoms) stories on Audible and does an amazing job.
I haven’t checked that out yet! Thanks!!
agreed his narration is absolutely brilliant. can't recommend enough!
@@waltdistel716 His Ser Bennis the Brown voice is so perfect!
i never knew i needed a GOT reaction from a Maggie Smith impersonator until now. im here for it
suggestion: that mic has be to placed vertical. The voices enter from the sides around the mic
Rule 1 of watching Game of Thrones - Don't get attached. Anyone can die at any time. RIP Viserys.
I like the IMFFFF!!! LOL/.... Ashley and Stefani ! thats hilarious!@
If Robert would've punched her with that much force Cersei would've been on the ground drooling lol. That was a slap.
Hope u ladies have a great day. Gotta love the reactions so far
Viserys was not always like this, he was a caring brother in the books, and all of a sudden he had to sell his mothers crown to survive, separately he was raising Daenerys all his life, protecting her from the assasins
Uh oh....we've got two new Big Time Dany fans 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
She absolutely deserved that slap. Her deserving of it doesnt mean he should have done it, but, to claim she didnt deserve, ignoring the batant disrespect in her statement is just ridiculous. I suppose a lot of females think a woman can say and do anything and yet, never deserves to get a slap for it...feminism for ya
Yes. I'd say so. Just like Joffrey deserved it.
Yep.. if Robert had disrespected her like that, and she slapped him, you can guarantee they'd have said he deserved it! But, as you said, that's modern feminism for ya. There used to be a time when feminism was about actual equality.. but that died out decades ago...
If you guys ever get a little further ahead on Patreon I’d definitely become a member
Going to see what I can do over Christmas!!
Thanks for watching with us!!!
Discovered your channel this week. My only complaint: you don’t do hourly uploads 🤣
Loved the comment about dental work that was great. You'll find that a lot of the titles can have more than 1 meaning.
And yet here you stand?
Yet here I stand.
Mormont's house words: Here we stand.
I mean wasn't that technically mercy. To kill him before throwing him through the "moon shoot". At least he was already dead, not making that long fall waiting for death to come.
Moon shoot 🤣
At some point maybe you guys will have to make the switch from "Khaleesi" to "Daenerys", but we've got time. Amazing reaction as usual. :)
Why? That's one of her titles.
I don't know why people care about that.
then transition into die hard and call her Dany.
Loving the progress. Loving how into the series you ladies are. Another banger
Thank you!! ☺️
Lindsay looks like she could be Catlyn’s younger sister
When two related twins have a baby I think that baby is a third twin since half of both parents dna is exactly the same
It was slap. Cat's sisters' name is Lysa, not Liza. It sounds like Lisa, but with an I (eye)sound.😊
Not incest-TWINcest!
Liking the reactions. But, you're talking over everything.
Not all of them.
@@MrCzerillo no, nit all of them. They're entertaining just trying to give some constructive criticism.
Cersei deserved that slap!!
we need more episodes !
Wait...there's such a thing as a "no pants memo"? And congrats on catching on to the whole incest baby bombshell so quickly, just might be the
fastest among all the reactors. Great show
They are super smart!!
Expensive dental work lmfaoo Lindsey 😂
11:00 - oh, Cercei deserved that and worse. It was just a slap, if Robert hit her with closed fist we would see her shoes fly off. But that smack - chef's kiss!
I know one word of raven. One of the few words that means the same around the world is thought to come from a raven's warning call. When a crow sees a raptor it screams the word hawk. If you yell hawk at a crow it will fly off most the time.
🤯
Having seen the show many times and knowing whats to come, I really can't fairly rate this episode. I mean it's a 5 cup episode for what you guys have seen so far. But it is not even in a top 10, maybe not even a top 20 episode overall. Probably even lower. This season alone there are two episodes yet to come, maybe 3 that are better. There are SOOOO many iconic episodes from this show and honestly, you guys have not seen one of them yet. Maybe the first episode mainly for the last 30 seconds is iconic.
please upload more often.i love you
I wish we could! We have full time jobs unfortunately 🙃
Trust me you, Robert didn't punch her. She'd no longer be here.
Love your editing style very dynamic ❤
Thank you so much!!
9:39 lol
Great reaction. I gigure each episode they introduce 2-3 near characters and then they kill off a character or two that was introduced earlier! No-one is safe and still the cast constantly grows! :-)
I had a feeling you’d like Viserys much better after he got his crown. He’s much more likable after this.
🤪
I don't know if this has been mentioned before but the lady in the middle looks like Diane Lane. Diane is that you? 😊
You are the second person! I never thought of it before but after looking her up I TOTALLY SEE IT!! -Stefani
That actually crossed my mind in an earlier reaction.
Cercie deserves far worse than that.
No one deserves to be slapped? Even after causing the death of an innocent wolf? The North will remember that.
Every Targaryen is resistant to fire not just dany…tho all aren’t immune to it like she is tho its an explanation why she was completely immune and it has to do with the witch from ep 10.
Granny is getting on my last nerve with her granny jokes.
You both hate Vicerys........ all of us knowing 1 hour later.... and he's gone
Actor Harry Lloyd (Viserys Targaryen) gave us an excellent performance while he lasted. A character we loved to hate, both clueless and entitled.
nice new Intro
Why do you guys keep mentioning links, youtube killed those a while back now. Maybe a pined comment half the time will show. Lots of old vids use to have embedded links and now they are gone. My guess is google desided to get greedy and only allow their ads.
There are links in the video description!
Ashley so cute
🔥Dracarys 🔥
😍
Look at the American trying to tell the English how to pronounce English words. “Nobody says Dynasty” 🙄
Who is American?
The naivete of these women are going to be really funny to watch when they get to the worst parts of the show.
He absolutely should have hit her..I hated Cersie
he is a sell sword his arms go to who will pay for his services
Jesus your intros are 7 min long I just skip
